Club Kastalia is a hidden gem in Alanya, Turkey. Practically no dealbreakers if you’re looking for a nice, calm family vacation. While improvements can be made, the hotel satisfies all the big asks from an all inclusive at its price range.||Pros:|Three big pools, including one calm one just for adults.|Incredible water park that has a dozen slides that will keep kids from 3-12 occupied for hours and hours.|Impeccably clean, it seems that if you so much as drop a leaf on the ground, a staff member will materialize out of nowhere and clean it up. During meal times, the service is amazing, dirty dishes disappear immediately from tables.|The food… oh my goodness, this is some of the tastiest food I have had on any vacation. Their mezze, or appetizers are always a hit. The snack bar has unlimited doner, lahmacun and gozleme, three turkish dishes we adore, and both restaurants have countless types of salads each meal, including breakfast. I ate a ton and still managed to lose weight on this vacation. Dinner always has a barbecue and kids have access to fries, plain or tomato sauce spaghetti at meal times which was a lifesaver on those difficult kid appetite days.|The beach is very nice with every lounge chair having its tent, making sleeping on the beach a safe pleasure. |The staff are amazing. There must be over a hundred staff here, like I mentioned, keeping this place impeccably clean but also constantly serving with a smile. What a pleasure to interact with them! Especially the main dining hall staff is so helpful, warm and nice.|The entertainment is good too, there is a show every night, both for adults and kids and kids can be dropped off at the miniclub while adults enjoy their show.|The sunset on their private pier is delightful. The beautiful blue sea and the silence broken only by the sound of waves, watching a big orange sunset was such a precious memory for me, my spouse and my child. I’m sure he will never forget it. |The rooms are spacious with daily towel changes and cleaning as well as water restocked in the minibar daily.|There is a tea garden where sweet and savory snacks are available practically all day.||In a neutral note, the alcohol is free but cocktails are not too inspired. While there is all sorts of alcohol available, it’s not quite enjoyable to daydrink here. Which is a blessing in disguise - no one is rowdy during the day which makes the hotel extremely family friendly.||In another neutral note, the hotel is quite far from the airport. It takes two hours of driving to get here, so take that into consideration when you book your flight. It will take you an hour to clear customs and luggage control when you arrive as well.||Now, there are some things that can be improved as well at this hotel. Like I said, the food is amazing but the snack bar hours are short in my opinion, from 12-4 pm. It would be amazing if that place was open from breakfast til dinner so that hungry kids can have a meal at odd hours. But like I said, not a dealbreaker and at the price point of this hotel, this is understandable.||Another improvement could be the pool temperature control. Again, it was okay but the temperature could be lower, I believe they heat the pools which is absolutely not necessary in the summer, in fact, the water was a bit tepid and not refreshing. Perhaps putting a top on the bridge of the main pool can provide the much needed shade. ||A slightly bigger issue is that the safe in your room and the wifi are charged! It’s 12 euros per week for each and is a bit unexpected. You might not need these things and that might be okay for you but it was a bit weird for us.||A controversial opinion I have is that thank goodness this hotel does not have those random “pool exercise” or “animation” nonsense during the day. If your kid needs group activities, there is a big miniclub at the waterpark level. But no bouncing in the main pools with music blasting and I love that.||All in all, this is a great hotel. It’s sufficient in every way and excels in many aspects. You can spring for “luxury” holiday clubs in Turkey but in my opinion, some things are better simple. This is the hotel for those that want to rest, relax and connect with their kids. I wholeheartedly would recommend this place if you have any doubts. You will have...
Read moreJust returned from a week at club kastalia. On arrival, tired and sweaty, first impression was good. Staff were friendly and we recieved help with our bags. We were shown to our room which was beautiful. Nothing was explained properly though, regarding the collection of towels, the area, how the AC works etc. We were handed a map and thats it. The guy told us that all drinks in the mini bar were free, this was a lie, only the water is free. Didnt like paying for internet or the second key card either. Info had to be dragged out of the staff at times. The costs start piling up which isn't expected in an all-inclusive resort. Everyone expects a tip and those who tip are the ones that get the best service. Our room was nice. The hotel automatically chose a superior room for us although we were 4 people. The room is for 3 and they gave us a fold-up bed extra.. again, not what you'd expect from a 5 star resort.. The futon bed was uncomfortable. There's no iron. I was told this is normal in an all-inclusive resort.. however in the resorts I've stayed in in Dubai and Italy.. we had access to an iron. Each piece of clothing costs €2 to be ironed. The costs pile up again. The pools close at 6:30pm unless you have a swim up room where you can swim whenever. There's a culture of reserving the sunbeds very early with a towel so hardly ever anything available by 9am. The food was the best part. Amazing, delicious and a wide variety. The staff and service varies from which section you sit in. Çetins area was the best. Hats off to him.. great guy.. The cocktails weren't that good and varied in taste depending on who prepared them. The beach is a mix of sand and stones. Mainly stones around the sea. Hard to walk into and gets very deep, very fast. Our room was cleaned daily but never to a good standard despite tips. Surfaces in the room weren't wiped and mirrors weren't cleaned. We had a swan arrangement of towels one day but the floor was still dirty. Our 4 person room only ever fot serviced for 3... 3 towels etc. I started with the negatives, but there were positive aspects too. My daughter loved the mini club and the kids shows. The animation team is great. She loved the kids pool and the free ice cream. None of the pools are deep. The deepest is 145cm. The village is beautiful and the gardens well pruned and looked after. There's no Hotel feel, it really is a small village with beautiful flowers and the odd cat here and there. There's not much to do or see in the neighbourhood. A small Bazaar about 10 minute walk away. For everything else you have to order a taxi which was always quickly arranged by the front desk. Konakli area 200 Lira, kleopatra beach 450 and up to 700Lira to go to Mall just past Alanya. The Ala carte restaurant was good, nice and peaceful. The chicken was very dry though. I have made some wonderful memories at this Resort, but don't think I'd return. Would recommend to families that wish to stay within the resort for the entirety of their stay (we'remire if the exploring type), families with small children (pushchair friendly) and people with a butt load of cash to throw...

We were on holiday in October. The hotel is very nice, cleaned every day (a lot of attention is paid to cleanliness), water in the room added daily, other drinks from the fridge not necessarily ;) . The hotel has a beautiful infrastructure, lots of greenery, plants and that is very cool, it's not a big massive block, but a medium-sized building, a lot of different attractions, such as a gym, tennis courts, basketball, volleyball, few swimming pools of various depths, a lot of sunbeds, I think that for anyone are enough them also spa and hairdresser. Ideal for families, if you are looking for a more party place look elsewhere 😉. Also the main guest are german, russian , some polish and the others.
Animations for children are also very nice, the girls are really trying they best and on that place I wouldlike say a massive thank you to them!!!! p.s. after vacation for the next 2 weeks our daughter sang "mini mini disco hey hey hey" and songs from mini disco 😂 we were together 😆🤫😅
Off-season there could be information that the second children's club or maybe the main one is at the aquapark. We hung around the club opposite the shop for a few days before we got information where the club actually is and more information about the shirts which happend on mini disco etc (painting the shirts is paid 10e. )
We had a few rainy days and unfortunately, on such these days there is nothing to do in the hotel because all the attractions are in the open air. Here you could think of something in bad weather to provide guests with some attractions.
Because we were on vacation for 2 weeks, some animations were repeated, like Turkish day or "miss hotel" or salsa night. Aqua arobic could be more ambitious and the same arrangement every day and this song "no stress" after a few days it was impossible to listen to it.
About food- very tasty, everyone will find something for themselves, although after 2 weeks we were a bit bored with it. Could be more fish dish or seafood . Hotel also have another restaurant where you could go once during your 7 day stay. Very tasty food and very filling :)
If you want to go to a bigger city (Antalya) you can take a bus which costs 1e per person. Stops on the main street at the entrance to the hotel.
Internet paid in the hotel for each phone 12e per week, it is more profitable to buy a card.
Hotel staff very friendly, nice, smily and helpful, special thanks to Ismail the waiter and the nice afternoon/evening bartender and the morning blonde barmaid.
I will add that at breakfast you can buy freshly squeezed orange juice for 2e.
In addition, I couldn't watch how some guests even lured cats to the restaurant to feed them. Or how the cats were tormented by kids, especially the small ones in the gardens. Parents, pay attention to what your children are doing to these poor animals.
In general we really like our stay in club Kastalia and we really highly recommend it as we...
