The Long Beach Resort & Spa beautifully marries design with family fun. While some areas might hint at wear and tear, they still have charm. We noticed that the Harmony hotel rooms possess a more modern vibe and appeared to be in better shape than those in the Resort & Spa section. One cannot help but be impressed by the staff. From serving to cleaning, their dedication is amazing. It feels as though they are always on their feet, ensuring guests are well looked after.

During our visit, the onset of the German school holidays led to a surge in occupancy. Like many reviews have noted, the hotel seems to be particularly popular among Russian and German guests. While this may be a point of concern for some English travellers, it shouldn't deter you. During our stay, we had the pleasure of befriending a wonderful German family. Despite the initial language barrier, our children resourcefully used Google Translate to communicate, leading to delightful exchanges and cultural experiences. So, if you're an English guest, embrace the diversity and you might just leave with lifelong friends!

There is lots of pools to choose from catering to all age groups and skill levels. Children, in particular, will find the waterslides a thrilling experience. Making this ideal for a family holiday. Several pools were heated, a welcome bonus for travelling in mid-October. The unheated ones appeared to use sea water; my child mentioned it was really salty and it irritated her skin and eyes, so we stuck with the heated options.

The array of food options was truly impressive. Every mealtime presented us with an abundance of delicious choices, ensuring variety throughout our days. However, if you're staying for more than a week, you might notice some repetition in the menu. My tip would be to explore the different dining locations for lunch, as we discovered unique offerings at each venue. During our stay, we dined at one à la carte option, the Fish Restaurant, which charged €3 per adult while children ate for free. I must admit, the highlight of the meal was the breathtaking view. However, guests were allowed to smoke, and the odour of ashtray tainted our experience. Service also felt very rushed; the staff hurriedly served each course, regardless of whether we had finished the previous dish or not. It was disappointing, given that the food was genuinely nice. Choose your 1st choice carefully: after your first à la carte visit, subsequent ones will cost €20 per adult and €10 per child!!! Which might put you off going again.

We took the opportunity to explore Alanya on a day trip. Conveniently, just to the left of the Harmony Hotel entrance, there's a bus stop. To catch the bus to Alanya, simply use the underground tunnel to safely cross to the opposite side of the road. The fare is a reasonable 30 lira per person. While the service runs at least every hour, we were pleasantly surprised to find buses as frequently as every 10 minutes. When heading back, just mention 'Long Beach' to the driver and he'll promptly know the exact stop you're after. A seamless experience overall!

Reasons why we wouldn't return:

Opting for the Superior Sea View Room, we found the evening entertainment's volume disturbingly high, affecting our sleep significantly.

The promise of an 'Ultra-all Inclusive' stay felt a tad overstated, with several additional costs popping up all around the resort. €7 for a coconut, I mean, really???

While the free-roaming peacocks added a unique touch, their droppings became an unsightly and slippery hazard. We found there mess everywhere including on the side of a water slide.

I was rather disappointed to find only Tuborg on tap at the Long Beach Resort & Spa's bar. As someone who likes to indulge in local experiences, I was looking forward to enjoying the Turkish beer, Efes. Upon inquiring, a barman mentioned that they cater mainly to their largest clientele, the Russians, who have a preference for Tuborg. It's an okay beer, but certainly not my first choice. The cocktails too leave much to be desired....

⭐️⭐️ 2/5 Very disappointing return visit – this hotel has gone downhill badly

I stayed at this hotel two years ago and had a brilliant experience, which is why I decided to come back this year. Unfortunately, things have changed massively, and not for the better.

Check-in / Room issue When I arrived to check in, I had booked and paid for a duplex room. However, the receptionist tried to give me a different type of room instead, telling me that a duplex “might be dangerous for kids.” My children are 14 and 8, so this excuse didn’t make any sense. On top of that, the duplex has a baby gate fitted, so clearly it is designed with children in mind. I was left confused as to why they even tried to say it wasn’t suitable. Only after I refused to accept another room and insisted on the duplex I booked did they finally give me the room I had paid for.

Room quality Once inside, the room was a big letdown. Both fridges were switched on but not cold at all. Even worse, one of them had an open Pepsi can left behind from a previous guest. That shows the room wasn’t properly cleaned before our arrival. During my entire 10-day stay, the fridges were never stocked with drinks at any point. Two years ago, this was included and even other hotels I’ve stayed in always provided drinks — but not here anymore.

Food & Service The service was very poor throughout. On the first night at dinner, after struggling to even get a table, I asked a staff member for drinks. I gave him my order, but he never came back. A similar thing happened by the pool — a worker came over and asked me what I’d like to drink, I placed my order, but once again nobody returned with anything. This happened more than once and really showed how unreliable and unorganised the service had become. 2 years ago I always had staff rushing to me asking what I would like to drink at dinner time but this year I had to find staff and tell me what I would like to drink. It was like a battle every dinner to get drinks.

I also noticed a serious lack of hygiene. Tables were not being cleaned properly — staff would do a quick wipe and then I actually saw them checking cutlery to see if it looked used or not and then placing it back on the table instead of changing it. That was shocking to see and made me question how clean anything really was.

Health issues For the first time in all my stays here, I ended up very sick. I suffered with terrible belly pains and diarrhoea during the holiday. It got so bad that I had to go to a pharmacy to buy pills just to manage the pain and try to recover. Even now, after leaving the hotel, I am still not fully better. This alone made the whole stay miserable and I can’t help but connect it to the poor hygiene standards I witnessed.

Staff attitude The overall atmosphere from the staff was also very different compared to two years ago. Back then, staff were friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. This year, almost everyone seemed grumpy, uninterested, and as if they didn’t even want to be there. It gave off a very unwelcoming vibe throughout the hotel, which made the holiday less enjoyable.

Extras & pricing Another negative change was the cost of extras inside the hotel. Things like ice creams and snacks had almost doubled in price since my last visit. I also looked into doing water sports with my son but was shocked at the pricing — €120 for just 10 minutes on a floating car. No wonder the place offering water sports was almost completely empty. The prices were simply ridiculous.

Overall impression All in all, this hotel has really gone downhill in the last two years. What used to feel like a welcoming, good-value, enjoyable place to stay has now turned into something careless, unhygienic, overpriced, and poorly managed. Between the room issues, the lack of service, the poor cleanliness, my health problems, and the bad atmosphere, I left extremely disappointed.

It’s a real shame because I had good memories here before, but after this experience, I would...

Edit: the shows are ok they maneged to make a good impresion with the circus show. Nice job. It will remain the waterpark . The hotel is ok nothing special or bad. The rooms are ok, the only problem was in the room that the shampoo dispenser didn't work, I told them it wasn't flowing, they said someone would come, they didn't come, but instead they brought me an ashtray in 5 minutes after I asked them so i think it depends of the guy that is coming, but otherwise it's perfect (the hotel), the cleanliness is ok. As for the water park, a disaster, of all the slides that exist you can't use half of them because the child is not 120/140 cm tall. It doesn't matter that they are part of the swimming team, it's just that they don't have the necessary height and that they haven't grown up tall and don't know how to respect the rules, if you are 119 cm and you are a well-behaved child you can't go on the slides. Let tall children go on the slides, which jump out of the rings during the descent and you hit them full on the route, but the important thing is that they are over 120 cm. On the double slides they put children in the back and adults in the front, another ineptitude that led in more than half of the cases (personally) to the child jumping over the adult when exiting the slide and hitting himself, in vain I explained to them because: "hotel rules". On the hotel's seafront there are some merchants who have exaggerated prices: a spiral fried potato 5 euros, ONE POTATO, a cotton candy 5 euros, not even in Austria it is that much at the Christmas market. They don't have a minibar in the room, there is only a fridge with 1 liter bottles of juice, they don't even have a beer at 200 ml. The juice is only put on the day of check-in, then only the water is changed. Unfortunately, I chose this hotel for the number of slides for children to the detriment of other hotels I have visited such as starlight, lago, von resort, selectum and others where I did not encounter these problems exposed above. It's a nice hotel with ok food, clean, but unfortunately I don't recommend it for children and that's probably because of the management, namely, I think, of Mr. Yasar Yaldiz, who probably has nothing to do with the subject of aquatic safety, I who am 192 cm can go down the slides, children because they are 130 can't go down, the water doesn't flow if they are shorter. There are posters everywhere saying that they don't take responsibility for any accident, well then let me take responsibility, you can't even take responsibility in writing or anything, but you are forbidden even though they don't take responsibility, a strong logic offered by the head of lifeguard security, congratulations. For the hotel I give 4 stars, for the water park and the rest 1 maximum 1.5 stars, it is beautiful but poorly managed in the water park chapter, which I think is the main attraction of the hotel, it does not excel in anything else, the rest (only dance shows until 3 days ago, shows for children only a mini disco and that's it) much below what I have seen before and for what I have paid less even in other places. Quality price very discretionary. I come back with a comparison from another hotel that I will visit in August (same year, ssa I do not compare with previous years) which is 900 euros cheaper, in the same formula 2...
