Are you looking for the worst 5-star hotel? Then Modern Saraylar is the right place for you! Rule number 1: You are completely unimportant as a guest. You will not be greeted at the narrow entrance to the hotel! You are welcome to unload your suitcases from the car by yourself. You also have to go through the emergency exit because the revolving door is not working. After the narrow entrance you reach the unair-conditioned hallway. I hope you have fun reaching an unair-conditioned hotel at 35 degrees. You will immediately notice that the hotel is completely overcrowded. chaos. Instead of the hotel staff offering you something to drink first, they stress out and tie the hotel wristband around your arm. Pretty selfish. After you have checked in and finally want to go to your room, you will collapse in the unair-conditioned corridor in the B block. Because in addition to the deadly heat, you will also have to wait 10 minutes for the elevator. As if the overcrowded mass of guests wasn't enough, the employees also occupy the elevators. The hotel room is a complete disaster. So so so so so disgusting. This hotel can never be a 5-star hotel. Stains all over the walls and ceilings. Furniture pretty old. The bed is right next to the dishwasher. The double bed has a standard disgusting bedspread as a blanket to sleep on. They saved on bath towels and hand towels. And SURPRISE: You will shower in the dark!!! Because the "5-star hotel" Modern Saraylar wants to save money, there is a light with a motion sensor in the bathroom. So look forward to a lovely shower in the black dark! Because the sensor does not detect your movements in the shower. Please do not slip in the dark in the shower ;). If you enjoy swimming in a disgusting, overcrowded pool, this is the perfect hotel for you! The hotel is pretty small and cramped. The beach area is not directly next to the hotel. Shuttle bus runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The beach area is small, rocky, nice and clean. The dinner is delicious. BUT BEWARE! Hair in the food! You have to imagine a 5-star hotel where there is hair in the food. When I informed the staff about the hair in the food, the staff simply removed the hair. The rest of the food was still made available for the guests to eat... Mmm, delicious: HAIR! We paid several thousand euros for a family of 5 for 3 nights. We checked out earlier than planned and left the hotel. We have been staying in 5-star hotels every year for 11 years. This was by far the most disgusting, filthy, ugly, dirtiest and unfriendly 5-star hotel we have ever seen or experienced. We wonder how you even got the 5 stars. That is an insult to all other 5-star hotels. When we complained to the manager, she didn't care at all about our opinion. We had announced that we would write a bad Google review. The original response to this was: "Just do it". When we checked out early, we didn't get our money back. We didn't care. DEAR MODERN SARAYLAR FAMILY, TAKE THE REMAINING MONEY AND INVEST IT IN YOUR DISGUSTING HOTEL. You will never see me or my entire extended family again. I don't recommend it to you either, dear readers. I had to give one star, but I would have preferred to give -100 stars.

I was slightly sceptical to book this hotel based on the previous reviews, but i have to say it was a really nice stay. There are pro's & con's to every place you go to and this was the case here too. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, and were cleaned daily (they decorated the room everyday with the blankets into swans etc) by the cleaning ladies. The food was very nice, and displayed as a buffet everyday. The only thing I would say is the food can get slightly repetitive after a few days, nevertheless we still enjoyed it. The beach is not within walking distance, but the hotel do offer a shuttle bus service, which runs every 30 minutes. The only downside to this is, the bus can get full quite fast, so if you miss the bus you would have to wait for the next one, 30 minutes later. The mixed beach is quite small but still beautiful, as with the ladies beach. The restaurant at the beach offers Wi-Fi, and can just about stretch down to the beach. Ladies sections - As a Muslim going to a halal hotel, you would expect women to be dressed modestly even on the women's side. This was my biggest problem, the ladies were dressed inappropriately in the ladies pool & the ladies beach. This is just a heads up in case anyone wants to protect their young children from seeing this. The ladies outdoor pool offers slides for adults & children to use, a café, a drinks bar, sun loungers etc. I have to recommend Cankun tours which is a company which arranges trips like quad biking, tours in Antalya and so much more. I have to shout out Faruk, he was exceptionally good at his job and a genuine man. The hotel offers endless amounts of drinks all day, hot or cold beverages. There are also certain times for the patisserie and cafes to open, where they offer desserts & food. Special shoutout to Ayu & Susana. They were just the kindest souls and so smiley & happy all the time. There were so many happy & lovely staff members. There was a receptionist (i have forgotten his name) who is quite aggressive in the way he talks and can be quite rude at times, so i would avoid him if you can. The hotel has an onsite shop where you can buy snacks, swimming costumes, beach wear, beach toys etc. It also has a onsite Masjid/mosque for everyone to pray in. The worst thing about the hotel is the live entertainment. This would be fine if they weren't blasting music on speakers so late at night. This would happen every single night. It felt like they were clubbing at times. Overall i did love my stay at this hotel and would still recommend it to everyone despite the cons.

first i want to say that most of the staff is very friendly. so problems are not with them, but the management team above. we have been here a few years ago and have been to other halal hotels since then. this year we wanted to visit again, because we thought it had improved. and we could fit 5 children in 1 room. pools were good and clean. beach is completely private. only a pity that all the parasols are broken. the pier was completely demolished. only the iron full of rust was still there. funfair had not changed at all. is still the same as years ago, broken and full of rust. rust is bad for your health. staff said that the owner does not want to change this. gameroom is not all on and nothing has been renewed. carpet is just dirty and is coming loose in places. 2 of the 3 punching balls are also broken. is really not worth the money. certainly compared to other halal hotels. rooms are nice and spacious, but they are also very outdated. sofa bed in the room was broken and the 2nd one we got was crooked. main bed creaked from all sides. minibar was not refilled. we reported this twice. then we gave up. it was not cleaned properly. so much dust everywhere under the furniture. so when the balcony was opened. all the dust came out from underneath. rooms are extremely noisy. furniture is moved until the middle of the night. we also called the reception more often and reported it to the manager. we literally only slept well 1 night in the whole week. food in the main restaurant was very often cold. and was not put in the warming trays. mini club was not open at the indicated times. 2nd time we reported this. we had to wait half an hour for the man with the key. in any case there was so much wrong. several people complained. also to the managers. we reported the complaints to 3 different ones. at some point you give up, because you want to enjoy your holiday. other halal hotels renew almost annually and there it was never necessary to ask anything. even though it was October. everything went well. at modern saraylar it was disappointing this holiday. managers apologized. we will not come back here. for the same money, you can better go to selge, adin or adenya. very unfortunate this.

My family and I (a couple and 5 children, including a baby) stayed at the Modern Saraylar Hotel for 12 days, and we had an absolutely fantastic experience.

The hotel itself was beautiful and modern, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of space for all of our stuffs. The air conditioning and heating were present in the rooms, and the bathrooms (we had two in our room) were well-equipped with towels, toiletries, a hairdryer,... and even a washing machine.

The wifi quality is very good throughout the hotel (wifi 6 technology). However, it is not available at the beach. During our stay, there were two outages where the wifi was down (once for about 2 hours and another time for half an hour), but the rest of the time, the performance was excellent.

The hotel also offers various activities for guests, such as boat trips, city tours, paragliding,... although we did not try them ourselves (except for a quick visit to the center of Alanya). The prices for these activities seemed reasonable, and the organizers were friendly.

We were also very impressed by the quality of the food offered at the hotel. The buffet breakfast and dinner were especially outstanding, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. There were even designated areas for vegetarian and other specific dietary requirements. The lunch options were a bit more limited, but still tasty and satisfying. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality and variety of the food, and we never felt bored or unsatisfied with the options available.

The facilities (both mixed and women-only areas) are very good: several pools surrounded by bars and restaurants, sun loungers, water slides, etc. There is also an indoor area reserved for men (pool, sauna, Turkish bath, gym, etc.). The beach (reserved area for the hotel) was easily accessible from the hotel, with a shuttle service running regularly between the hotel and the beach. The hotel also provided sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, as well as a beach bar and restaurant. We particularly enjoyed the reserved area for women, which allowed for a more private and comfortable beach experience.

However, what really stood out to us was the exceptional service we received from the hotel staff. From the housekeeping staff to the servers to the receptionists to the wellness center staff, everyone went out of their way to ensure that we had a wonderful stay. Although some of the staff members had limited English proficiency, they were always eager to understand our requests and used translation apps on their smartphones to communicate effectively.

One staff member in particular, Ruzgar, was extremely helpful and accommodating. She was available to assist guests with any request, and she also spoke Arabic, which was a huge plus for many of the hotel's Muslim guests.

The hotel's animators were also amazing. They were energetic, creative, and always ready to engage guests in fun and unique activities. There was always something to do, from water polo and darts to Turkish music and ladies' nights... Even when it rained, the animators adapted quickly and came up with indoor activities.

As for the wellness center, my wife tried the spa package (massages, peeling, mask, etc.) and was extremely impressed with the quality of service. I also tried a massage and, despite not usually being a fan, found it to be a great experience. The prices for the treatments were reasonable, and the staff members were friendly.

Overall, we had a truly amazing experience at the Modern Saraylar Hotel. Despite typically changing destinations every year for our all-inclusive vacations, we are already planning to make an exception and return to this hotel in the future. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable vacation in a beautiful setting with exceptional service.

Finally, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the hotel staff, who went above and beyond to make our stay so wonderful....

We stayed at the Modern Saraylar 'halal' resort during the final week of October and first two days of November 2019. The following is my unbiased and honest review. One must appreciate that with such things, every individual's expectations and experience is different. I do not expect others, who have stayed at the Modern Saraylar resort, to agree with all my points below. However, I hope that it will help those who are considering a holiday at the resort make the right choice.

We found that, generally, there was good observance of Islamic haya and hijab by the guests. Although, there were some female guests walking around very unislamically dressed. However, these were just a few – perhaps, no more than a handful, throughout our stay.

There is a purpose built, comfortable masjid on site, but on the periphery. It may have been better to locate this masjid at the centre of this resort, which is sold as an 'Islamic' resort. However, with all the loud music and on-stage entertainment that can take place (especially, during the weekends), I can see why the masjid has been built at the furthest edge of the resort site. There is no imam in the masjid. However, there are imams who come to deliver the jumu'ah khutbah and lead the prayer on Fridays, which is very helpful.

When food was being fully provided in the buffet restaurant (i.e. before our final 3 days), it was excellent. There were plenty of dishes to choose from. There was something for everyone. Some of the main cuisines did change, which was very good. Our children, who are very fussy with what they like to eat, enjoyed the variety and taste of the food. There were plenty of eating opportunities in the buffet restaurant throughout the day and night. Hot and cold drinks were available almost 24 hours a day.

However, during our final 3 days, it was almost rations with few items to choose from. Our children suffered, as there were just a few main dishes to choose from. Most of the starters and side dishes were no longer available. The restaurant staff, as well as all the other staff in the resort, appeared to have a not-so-bothered attitude.

Smoking is common throughout the resort – especially, outdoors. I guess, smoking is still considered normal and acceptable in Turkey.

The resort was generally very clean – indoors and outdoors. However, the room cleaning service was slow to respond every time we requested a clean and changing of the bedsheets.

The children's games room was expensive. All the games are chargeable. You have to pay 1 euro for about 60 seconds on most or all of the games.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a washing machine in the bathroom (we were in a standard family suite). However, I would advise anyone going with family to take a clothes iron with them.

The segregated beach, which is not within walking distance from the resort, is not anything like what the promotional videos and photos on the internet show. There is a free shuttle service every half-hour, throughout the day – the last one being at 6:30pm (from the beach to the resort). The beach itself is very small and, once you get in the water to swim, there are a lot of sharp rocks underwater in some sections. I cut my finger and foot on these rocks.

There is a nice restaurant on the beach, which is exclusively for Modern Saraylar guests.

The staff generally either spoke absolutely no English or very poor English.

The outdoor pools are badly located. They are in the shade most of the time. The water is cold. There are no deep pools anywhere for adults to actually swim in.

There is a slow and intermittent free Wi-Fi service throughout the resort – indoors and outdoors.

Overall, keeping in mind the relatively cheaper price of Modern Saraylar (compared with the other 'halal' all-inclusive luxury resorts in Alanya – some very nearby and much closer to the Mediterranean Sea), I would give Modern Saraylar a rating...
