Although we travelled to cappadocia for a vacation, I stay in hotels across Turkey frequently for work. I believe I have a pretty good idea of the level of service and standards that can be expected in the region based on a variety of price points and regions.
My wife and I chose to stay here over the boutique cave hotels because we have an active baby and wanted to stay somewhere with an indoor pool, security for our vehicle, and a room without stair or sharp stone edges where our baby might bump into.
Don't make the same mistake, Cappadocia is great, the people are friendly, and you can find much better accommodation for the price.
For what I paid, I could have stayed in an amazing boutique hotel in the middle of goreme with a view of the morning balloons overhead. I regret my decision immensely after spending a little time in Cappadocia and getting to know the area.
My primary complaints:
Poor service: Waited outside for a porter for 10 minutes while front desk (in clear sight) ignored me. Went inside to ask for one, no one came, eventually had to park and drag my luggage to the lobby through the cold. My pregnant wife and baby also had to walk through the cold. we are legal residents of Turkey, but we were told that we must show our passports... because "resident permit is not enough" (it is sufficient everywhere else I've stayed). I was told I must pay upfront, even though I booked online and my credit card is on file. The second night, we tried to call for room service 5 times. No one answered, and I went to sleep hungry. I complained about the room being very hot, and the front desk told me she was going to call her friend to check it... The room was hot the second night so I complained again when going out for the day, they said they would fix it. I'm laying here again for the third night and the room is still hot. Each time we go for breakfast, no one offers to bring us drinks or asks us if we want anything. We have to flag down one of the many staff members standing around and ask them for orange juice or whatever. I booked a balloon ride, but they didn't give me any information about the company, they just told me to show up in the morning at 6. I'm thinking about cancelling because the price on the flyer and the price I was quoted at the front desk are very different(much much cheaper) I'm afraid they booked me with a second rate and possibly unsafe balloon company.
Uncomfortable room: Side tables had melted wax all over them from previous guests ( not cleaned well at all) Too hot, thermostat not adjustable. Very Small, barely enough places to put our stuff, let alone a baby cot. Poorly ventilated, stuffy Shower poorly designed with a very low ceiling, I have to crouch to get under the shower head. The shower head is a piece of junk, it just sprays water all over the place. Dimly lit Smelled strongly like cigarette smoke, presumably from neighboring rooms.
Mediocre food Burger was more expensive than Macdonald and half as good (and I hate MacDonald's) Breakfast is very basic compared to much cheaper hotels in Turkey... compared to equally priced hotels, it's...
Read moreAfter my stay, one thought comes to mind: Come on Hilton, you can do better than this!! Rude service and rundown rooms.
The location of this hotel is extremely remote. There is nothing within walking distance.
Upon reaching the floor the very first thing you'll notice is that it severely reeks of perfume. It smells as if someone threw it all over the walls and the floor - it is SUPER strong. If you have any allergies, or at all sensitive to smells, this is definitely not it.
Inside the room it doesn't deplete at all and is still reeks so strong. After being in the room for a couple hours, and with the window open, you can tell that reeks in an effort to cover the stench of something else.
For my door the maintenance man wanted to give me attitude. For my particular room the lock on the door did not work and immediately had to have maintenance called. They try to tell me that I didn't need the bottom lock and that the one that opens a bit before it catches was okay for a solo single female. I'm sorry, but WHAT? I explain that was not sufficient enough. To which he gave me an obvious deep sigh in a role of his eyes like he was too bother to do his job. It is obvious that work had been done on the door lock recently.
The room that I had on the 4th floor was very dated and abused. There's carpet in the bedroom part of the room (Make sure to wear your slippers or socks) and marble in the bathroom and entryway.
The rooms are decorated with a built-in couch, and (for me) a broken chair for a small desk. There is a mini fridge but no mini bar. There is a lamp with major water damage and so old it has obvious discoloration on the shade. Slippers and a single robe are provided but the robe tie is just a cut up towel!! It was so pathetic and made me bust out laughing and I just had to take a photo.
The shower head hasn't been cleaned since it was installed and sprays is all over the place.
The dinner was okay but breakfast was underwhelming. Servers were rude at breakfast service. An example, I asked the server for çay (tea) and he pointed and said have that in a saucer. When I just watched the server serving it in typical glass at the table next to me not 2 mins before and after. They try to say he didn't speak English however he spoke perfect English to me to tell me to go use a saucer. There was a young girl with shoulder cup Bob that couldn't have been nicer and more pleasant she didn't speak any English but she did her best to work for our table.
If staying in the area there are far more hotels to select from. There's no way this is five star and I would not stay here again.

Read morePros: |-beautiful decorated rooms (clean and with comfortable beds) and common areas with lovely sweeping views.|-good food at the breakfast and dinner buffets. ||Cons:|-poor management practices: no free water, coffee or tea at dinner - the machines were there but covered up, to force people to buy these inexpensive beverages that are included with dinner at all other hotels.|-air-perfuming machines outside of the elevators emitted overwhelmingly strong, unpleasant smells 24/7, almost enough to make you gag.|- at breakfast, despite the huge breakfast crowds, the solitary omelette maker would always be just walking around the restaurant instead of being consistently behind the counter making omelettes. You’d have to track down a worker and beg them to send someone to make omelettes. By the time the omelette guy meandered back to his work station, there was a massive line of people all waiting for omelettes. There were a large number of workers just milling around the restaurant, but it seemed like none of them wanted to actually work. Why not have two workers making omelets, and one less worker wandering around? When you asked for anything, they acted mildly annoyed at whatever your request was for (for example, asking for water or a glass). And then the omelette guy didn’t speak English well enough to understand what people were ordering. A completely unnecessary problem!!!|- Impossible to sleep well at night because the room was so hot. Despite the cold weather outside, the rooms were overwarmed and the thermostat was unresponsive to all attempts to lower it. The single window only opened about 1 inch, which did nothing to cool off the room. We went down to talk to management about it and they said that the ability to lower the temperature of the rooms was turned off centrally. He offered to turn our room’s A/C back on, and he did, but in the middle of the night someone turned it off centrally again. Really frustrating!!! ||This lovely-looking hotel could easily get consistent 5 star reviews, with just a few small changes, but apparently the management team doesn’t care about customer satisfaction, and is instead willing to alienate their clients to save just a...
