When I was booking this hotel, I must say that I had low expectations due to mixed reviews, but nonetheless, given the proximity of the hotel to the airport and accessibility to train combo-ed in with the right price, I took it. We wanted to go shopping in Grand Bazaar prior to our afternoon flight. It was a great location, since only takes about 10-15minutes at 20 TRY to get there via taxi (traffic here to airport was not as bad in downtown) and about 10minutes walk to the metro. ||When we arrived late night (12mn), we were greeted in a modern lounge. The check in process was fast and we were escorted to our room. The hotel is new!||The room was large (larger than the average rooms we have checked in other places in Turkey). The beds were just okay and we had a good sleep (not the super fluffy type, but hey, we are not in a luxury hotel). The shower enclosure was missing one panel, hence causing water to splash out. The room was clean.||Breakfast - no one is attending to the breakfast, you just go there and eat. It was self service. The bread is uncut, hence you should cut it yourself. The selection was of typical of turkish breakasft, i.e, jams, cheeses, tomatoes, cucumber and some salami/ham. The juice is also, but not sure if it was fresh. Coffee is also self sevice, not the brewed type or Turkish type, only a Nescafe Alegria machine. Nonetheless, if you are okay with these, you can still satisfy your basic needs. ||Staff was very helpful. Our adapter was broken, and the staff had let us borrowed theirs so we can charge our phones and battery packs. They were also helpful in providing directions.||There are some room for improvements in this hotel, but if you are not very picky, and very particular about proximity to airport, this is a good...
Read moreOld building, dirty, unpleasant personnel. ||Firstly, when we arrived, the receptionist told us to sit at the couch, but it was not pleasant offer, but was kind of order from him to me. ||Secondly, there are two elevators in the hotel, each one has room for 3 persons maximum, if more, you would have to touch each other. One of the elevators had some issues with the door closing, so you would need to push your button several times, when it tried to close-and-reopen the door. ||Thirdly, see the pictures I attach and you will discover several quality issues, was in my room only. Can imagine, how many such problems you can find all over the hotel. ||Fourthly, the breakfast is very poor, located in the basement. During your breakfast you can enjoy really load Turkish music on a TV set. One room, you cannot get away from that load music. ||As a candy on a cake the shower could be contrast (cold and hot water) without your agreement. One day I had totally cold water. Hot water seemed to finish due to rush hour in the morning. ||So, my summery - never try this hotel. They do not deserve...
Read moreI wish i could give NEGATIVE STARS! Worst hotel in all of Istanbul, if not Turkey. Reception staff was completely unhelpful and rude! It was assured there was parking, but upon arrival they had lied, and when confronted about it, he threw my passport at me on the table and told me “if i don’t like it, leave”. This is completely baffling considering the price i was willing to pay! They also refused to give two single beds when asked, claiming that we did not mention it before hand, even though on booking.com there were rooms with twin beds available. He then rose his voice at me, until my Turkish man came to tell him in Turkish to calm down. This is baffling! I do not recommend. I had to stay at the holiday in which has impeccable service!
My in laws did stay in this hotel and the room was horrible! Filled with cockroaches, dirty floors and bedsheets!...
