First off this hotel has a stunning location and the large glass windows (floor to ceiling) in the rooms give a view to just stare at. A lot. I thought it was beautifully designed, but I'd seen the photos and knew it was right up my street. The open air reception area, the cute Patisserie and seating area and the very nice spa area were very tastefully done. The fact that NOBU has decided to put it's restaurant at this hotel is testament to it being a quiet and very cool place. I would say it's an adult only place and not for families, although accept as it's more villa-like with outdoor tables and kitchen areas in prime summer there might be more kids around. For us we visited end of September so it seemed very quiet & more suited to adults, in some ways it was almost too quiet. We like quiet but it meant a sense that the place was shutting down. Breakfast was at additional cost and served in Nobu but even that shut before we left. We ate twice at Paper Moon which was very nice and again a lovely setting. The gym is quite small but did have water bottles available and disposable towels but being outdoor it was hot! The pontoons are a super feature though, we loved it down there all day, jumping in the sea and just reading/lying around. The buggy service is great, we either whatsapp'd or rang the reception and they turned up within a few minutes. We had the entry priced room but views stunning, bed comfy (although would have liked a duvet and not the simple bedcover), great shower and bathroom area and a closet area - it was much bigger than I expected plus the outdoor kitchen and seating area. The equipment/utensils were a bit poor and lacking, we tried to eat once but failed miserably between what we had to make supper with and what we were able to buy at a Carrefour, not quite choice of supermarkets in the uk! I really liked this place, yes it wasn't perfect, yes the building site still going on but it wasn't that noisy and didn't affect...
Read moreA beautiful property, but a horrible experience. Stay away from Bodrum Loft. You’ll thank me later.
Issues;
We arrived to check in, at the front entrance, the security stopped our taxi rudely and asked as many times why are we here? What’s our names? After answering them, he called someone ask to ask us the same questions again.
• No one here speaks good English, majority here barely speaks basic English. Reception needed two people to figure out to speak and check us in. • It was hot in the reception are as it’s exposed directly to the sun, we’re sweating hot and annoyed and no one offered complimentary drinks or a cold towel etc as is with any 5/6 star resorts we’ve been around the world. • No clear information briefed by the reception, what time is breakfast, where the facilities are, what restaurants they have. We figured everything ourselves the next day, to add to the misery it was 810am and everything was closed as it opens at 9am.
So we checked into our 2 bedroom villa, the guy showed us around and he showed us 4 rooms so we were like okay, maybe they upgraded us or maybe this is how the villa is. We chose our room settled down unpacked everything and was about to go down to the beach. Then another surprise; the manager came and said there was a mistake, our rooms are actually on the ground floor, the top two floors are reserved for someone else. Mind you he was not sorry at all, a straight face and unapologetic not empathy for their own mistake. So we had to move. Ridiculous.
The villas here are priced at a high price, but breakfast does not come with the booking.
There is construction across the property and it is very loud, starting from 8am. It won’t be the peaceful serene holiday you are looking for.
Conclusion: Beautiful property, High priced for nothing, You don’t get what you pay for, Bad communication, Hospitality & Service is ZERO. It’s a pricey lesson for us. But you guys can learn from us. Please...
Read morePros:|- spacious villas with kitchens and large outside dining areas, large comfortable beds with quality pillows. |- nice views over the bay (but see below also under cons)|- well designed overall with lots of olive trees and Mediterranean plants (that after a few more years growth will look fantastic) |- pretty swimming pool| - good italian restaurant/bar (Paper Moon) with charming terrace set just above the water / decking |- good spa with excellent Balinise masseuse|- well designed pontoons with sun loungers, great swimming|- good efficient buggy service around the resort (necessary)||Cons:|- noisy and large construction site (in June 2022) on the opposite hillside, which runs from 8am to 7pm and unfortunately ruins the hotel’s inherent tranquility |- the hotel design is overall fairly austere and will not be to everyone’s taste|- service is very patchy (for example, on two separate occasions we repeatedly asked for morning tea to be delivered to our villa and it never came) |- a few annoying niggles, for example no towels or water in the very small gym|- the staff speak very limited English (except for the manager) ||Summary:|Overall, Bodrum Loft is over-priced. The hotel is charging 5 star prices (and is surprisingly referenced by Leading hotels of the world and in the UK by Mr & Mrs Smith) but does not operate at 5 star standards. Once the close-by construction is completed, it will be more peaceful but the views are spoilt as there is now a very large development of villas directly opposite. Best suited to families with children...
