Checking in, i was shown a room “with private beach access” for which i was asked to pay upfront , 130 euro’s which i paid. They showed me the room which faced the lounge bar playing terribly bad and thumping loud noise. I declined and reverted to my original choosing i.e. private room with sea view and garden. The room was Lovely and this would have made me happy but then, i opened the garden door and the lounge bar playing loud thumping base noise In full volume and so i had to keep my room garden door closed at all times. This deep base noise was giving me a headache! This ended my dream of a quiet beach holiday. I had signed in for 4 nights which i would have to stay indoors and close doors or constantly complain and ask them to reduce the base and noise from the huge speakers! The room does not come with any fruits, given its a “five star” hotel. Weird. I asked for a couple of bananas to my room, my night time ritual to eat a banana before bed time. They sent me a bill to pay for it. I mean in my 20 plus years of life holidaying in most countries and five star resorts, this was a first ever, I refused obviously and so there I was with no bananas before my bed on day 1. The next day a quick trip to the bodrum marina and i had my bananas and some fruits to eat.
All I wanted was a quiet beach holiday where I could read a book and lay on the beach. That never happened. The lounge bar kept its promise to fail me completely. They played this loud thumping and throbbing noise all day from 9am to way past midnight around 1am, nonstop. Terrible bad noise. All day. Every day. Many times i asked them to reduce this noise, which they did swiftly, but in about 30-40 mins would be back load and horrible again. Many of the guests had similar complaints. I double checked if I was the only person feeling this way, and many of the guests agreed and did complain. So it was not just me. But i guess the lounge bar had more powers than the guests! They kept the loudest and i kept complaining. The bar won!
Day 3 i woke up to dead cockroaches, 3 of them! Lying upside down next to my bed! In clear sight. Imagine my horror, swiftly cleaned away with apologies from the a sweet lady in housekeeping and flowers appear in my room! Then i find eyeliner marks on fresh towels. Again, swiftly cleared and new fresh towels are handed with many apologies. My holiday was here on with this constant noise all through and the fear of cockroaches reappearing dead again, But i had flowers in room?
Pros: They make amazing food. Lovely chefs. My special thanks and best wishes to Beyza in the restaurant. She was so sweet and caring! Wonderful people who worked in house keeping. Great beach access and adults only makes it a prime property to enjoy! Spectacular view. Great bass speakers! They must be proud. Taxis are readily available.
Cons: Drinking water is charged here! Absolutely ridiculous. situated next to an all inclusive budget resort, the noise is intense and party music is constant all night till the early mornings. So there is no “quiet getaway” moment here in this hotel. No romantic destination, this! no concierge. Horrible senior management and no customer service. Totally failed me. Seems to me that there are no grown ups running this business! Not a 5 star hotel. Not even close to a 3 star! About 30 mins drive from the main bodrum marina and shopping bazaars. So that takes about 200-300 lira each ride.
As they themselves put it via WhatsApp when they connected with me and they are a bed & breakfast only. All other services are paid for. Even water! They charged me for the coffee pods that were in the room. How ridiculous is that?
Such a shame that with a unique location and private adults only access to the beach, gorgeous property, this resort did not deliver its “unique experience” Their website needs address the up selling. Its fake! Such amazing potential but such terrible management. 3 stars. Mediocre. Over expensive. You can definitely find better resorts for the moneys worth. I would never recommend this...
Read moreI am astonished by the response from Casa Nonna Bodrum and the decision to publicly publish false statements rather than taking responsibility for what happened.
To clarify:
My illness began immediately after eating at the hotel restaurant, I am shocked by the hotel’s response and the decision to make false claims rather than addressing what happened.
I informed reception on the same day I became unwell, when I went to hospital I walked in severe pain through reception and told the receptionist I was going hospital. I had to arrange my own taxi to the hospital, pay for my treatment, and later returned to inform the hotel of my diagnosis. Whilst in hospital my fiancé was also messaging the hotel staff via WhatsApp as shown in pictures attached. For the hotel to now claim that I reported this four days later is completely untrue and deeply misleading.
I did not bring any outside food into the hotel prior to falling sick. The only food later left in the room was food I purchased after being made ill by the hotel’s restaurant meals — food I needed in order to recover as recommended by the doctor.
After my hospital treatment, after feeling slightly better, I then ate at the hotel restaurant again and had pasta and salad and my symptoms returned within hours, confirming the illness was caused by the hotel’s food.
It is extremely disappointing to see the hotel deny responsibility and attempt to deflect blame publicly rather than addressing a serious health and safety issue.
I have hospital documents, receipts, and Booking.com’s written acknowledgment that this case has been escalated to their Safety and Security Team due to its seriousness. Most importantly I also have video evidence of me speaking to the receptionist and to the waiter about the...

From the moment we stepped into Casa Nonna, we knew this place was something truly special. We were warmly welcomed and given a beautiful tour of the hotel by Tatiana, who made us feel right at home from the very beginning.
We’re Spanish and very familiar with what good food and great service look like, but Casa Nonna exceeded every expectation we had.
It was, without a doubt, an experience unlike any other. From our stunning suite to the attention to detail in every interaction, everything was simply perfect.
The breakfast was an absolute dream. Fresh, varied, and served with such care that it became one of the highlights of our days. The room service also deserves special recognition: every dish we ordered felt like it came straight from a Michelin-starred kitchen. The quality, flavors, and presentation were all simply outstanding.
The restaurant Morchella deserves a special mention. The service was flawless, and the food… absolutely unforgettable. I never thought I’d say this, but I’ve had better pasta here than in Italy. Every dish was crafted with love and skill, full of flavor and creativity.
I’m genuinely emotional as I write this, because I’ve never felt this way when leaving a hotel. I’ve been lucky enough to stay in many five-star properties around the world, but Casa Nonna has left a lasting impression on me. I leave with tears in my eyes, and a deep certainty that I will return.
The turquoise waters, the exquisite cuisine, the peaceful elegance of the place, and above all, the heartfelt kindness of the entire team deserve far more than a simple review.
So, from the bottom of my heart — thank...
