While travelling from Istanbul to Ankara, I had occasion to stop off with friends in Bozuyuk, a large but sleepy town on the main intercity highway. We were concerned that the hostelries on offer may not be of the best quality – hotels in Turkey can be a bit hit and miss, outside the main cities and resorts. We found the Grand Ҫali Hotel which had been recommended.||||I was pleasantly surprised – the hotel says it is a 4 star establishment and that’s exactly what it is. It’s clean, pleasant and modern and we were warmly welcomed, in a Turkish sort of way.||The bedrooms are large, clean and quite well equipped but being a town centre hotel, views were not that great – a car park, a school, that sort of thing. The rooms have LED Satellite TV but mine did not work – only showing one channel of football – I don’t watch TV much so that was not a problem. There is a kettle and tea making stuff which worked, a room security safe which didn’t, a good rain shower and a spotlessly clean bathroom (no bath).||||The room air-conditioning did work but not very well but it was not too hot anyway – it blows slightly cool air - maybe they turn it on fully when it gets really hot outside, who knows. The bed and bedding were acceptable – no more than that but I had a good night’s sleep regardless.||My room offered “free wireless internet” which was a bit hit and miss, I think possibly because I was so far from the router at the end of the corridor – my colleagues nearer the router seemed to have no problem.||||They have a swimming pool with tables and bar service and a large dining room in Turkish style (a big room with lots and lots of tables and little by way of style) but the food and drink were fine and menus were in Turkish and English. Service was OK.||||All in all it was a pleasant stay – I have some issues as you can see but for the price of around US$60 per night, I reckon it was hard to...
Read moreWe had reserved 12 rooms from January 2022 from agoda.com and when we arrived at the hotel they told us to annulate the reservation because they cannot accept the money we've already paid and to pay 150 euro for the triple room (100euro proce difference). At the moment, on booking.com the price of that room was 70€.||They tried to convince us to annulate and told that they cancelled the reservation with agoda but didn't want to show us that email so I told hotel manager to call the director so I can speak to him to solve the problem.||When I get in contact with him at the phone the hotel manager told him that we paid 10€ for one double room and at the moment I have told that we paid much more (47) he told me immediately to give the phone to manager and we did not had to pay anymore.||Also, they had only 5 rooms at this hotel evwn if the parking and hotel was empty and send the rest of us to hotel Cali (3*) which was horrible!!!!!! The smell of smoke and the dirt made our night a bad dream! ||In addition, after the breakfast of our friends (5 rooms our of 12) at Grand Cali, they asked again for the price difference even if we've already discussed this issue the day before.||||I do not recommend at all this hotel anymore, even if we were here 5...
Read moreIt is not the first time I have stayed at this hotel and there is something that has not improved in the last 6 years. It is that even if you choose a NON-smoking room, and you are staying in a NON-smoking floor around you in the rooms there will be people smoking and this is unfortunate and disgusting. An intolerable lack of respect for the customer. They should also improve the internet connection because it is very important for those of us who are staying for spaces of up to a month. Good restaurant, good room and good staff. But what I expose first is for me unacceptable and disrespectful...
