You just don't want to leave... It is the second time i go with my girlfriend to this beautiful hidden Gem, Goknar Knidos hotel, in west Turkey. First time we did a Roadtrip through turkey in 2024, and were a little bit disappointed by the over tourism everywhere and lack of authenticity, until we arrived for only one night at this Hotel. We were in love from day one, the tranquillity, the nature, the views, the amazing kind hospitality of the owners and the personal feeling you got from the moment you entered the hotel was special. It had all the amenities you would want for a quite relaxing holiday, private beach, pool, excellent food and bevarages. Only problem we stayed only for one day because we had booked already other places. But we promised we would come back next year. And so we did. This time we went in June 2025, and i took my parents with me and my girlfriend. It was even better than last year, less hot, the place had done some renovations, and they had an all new restaurant Yergök with the most amazing female chef, the sweet and energetic Duygu, that cooked from morning until evening everything to excellence. Fresh and biological food only. Fresh from their own farms and friends. (The chef is also a DJ and took me and my girlfriend to Datca center to see her play in a bar). The owner of the Hotel, Talat, made us feel so welcome, took us in his own truck with his family to see and stay at hidden beaches only locals would know and where our rental car would simple die. It's because of the loving and caring people that take care of the Hotel that you feel at home. We stayed for 7 days and wished we stayed longer. We will definitely come back and even bring more...
Read moreThe hotel is simple but the location is outstanding, just a few minutes from Knidos. Don’t miss the sunset from their terrace – it’s wonderful. Getting there, though, is not easy: the road is unpaved, with loose stones, so a small city car might struggle. From the hotel you can hike down a steep path (about 10 minutes) to a small private beach with sunbeds. It’s a tough walk and definitely not for sandals, but the owner kindly offers to pick guests up with his van if needed.||Since the nearest town is about 20 minutes away, most people stay at the hotel for dinner. We did, and unfortunately the food was a letdown: the “handmade potatoes with yogurt & tomato sauce” turned out to be frozen fries with two sauces, the salad wasn’t fresh, and overall the dishes didn’t feel homemade. No bread or extra small complimentary items like cucumber, as is typical in Turkey. Prices are high (400–450 TL per plate), so the lack of quality is disappointing. On the other hand, the breakfast was fresh and quite rich.||The rooms are very basic and outdated. Only a fan is provided, with no fridge, which could be useful if you plan to stay more than one day, at least to avoid being completely dependent on the bar/restaurant. Around the rooms, the garden, pool, and bar area look a bit neglected and not very clean.||On the positive side, the staff is kind and helpful, and the manager speaks excellent English. With some adjustments to the menu and to the overall care of the facilities, this place could be a...
