Wow, what a great experience at this hotel. I was greeted at the entrance by the owner, İbrahim, who speaks perfect English (and French as well). Everyone was so kind and welcoming. My room was perfect and much larger than I expected, with a very comfortable bed and large, modern bathroom. Fantastic shower with endless hot water. People sometimes complain about flies in Eğirdir (because of the lake) but the windows in my room had screens, so there were no flies inside even with the windows open at night. I loved the décor and the subtle lighting design... very relaxing room.||||Breakfast is on the roof terrace and they serve everything you could want, all very high quality. The filter coffee is exceptionally good as well. The view from the terrace is literally the best on the Eğirdir peninsula, as Fulya is situated at the highest point and there is a 360 view of the surroundings. It's a very inspiring place to eat breakfast, and of course to take photos.||||The location of Fulya is also perfect no matter where you want to go in Eğirdir - it's walking distance from everything in the town, and it's a beautiful morning run or evening walk down to the end of the peninsula and back. It's also close to the castle, the weekly street bazaar on Thursdays, and a range of shops, cafés, and restaurants. The neighbourhood is quiet, especially in the evenings - again, very relaxing. Sometimes you can hear a hint of music in the air, coming from somewhere across the lake, but it's not loud or disruptive, it just adds to the chill vibe.||||Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Anything I needed or wanted was taken care of immediately, with smiles and a friendly, warm manner. I saw this with other guests as well - many people wanted to plan activities and excursions, and someone was always there to help them organise whatever they wanted, or provide information.||||As a woman travelling alone, I felt safe walking around Eğirdir at all times of the day and night, even with my big camera and other gadgets. The area around Fulya is entirely family homes and small hotels, very safe and no concerns at all.||||I am already planning my next trip back to Eğirdir and I will 100% be staying at Fulya again. Great experience and wonderful people. I have travelled to 30 countries and all over Turkey, and it's rare to find this level of hospitality. Many thanks to...

Read moreI stayed here for 2 days and come out feeling mixed by my stay. Let me preface this review by saying that Egirdir isn't quite a tourist town as yet. The infrastructure of the town isn't as yet built up for tourists.
Core focus: Fulya Pension is, from what I understand, a hostel focused on servicing the tourists that visit Egirdir for trekking.
Rooms: Simple, a bit dated and medium sized. The room I was in had a balcony with a great view of the lake in Egirdir.
Unfortunately it was not clean, had dust and bugs everywhere. Had 6 spiders in the room and countless other bugs who seemed to have been there for a while. I've stayed in quite a few hostels all over the world and they have all been pretty clean. The price is similar to other hostels in expensive countries like Japan that I have stayed in, so I expected more in terms of tidiness. The comment on tidiness seems to be a common complaint across the reviews.
Bed: quite comfy and decent size
Bathroom: Huge and water runs hot quite quickly. Again cleanliness is an issue, mildew all over the shower and lots of water stains.
Service: Quite good. Everyone is very friendly. One of the staff members struggles with English so made check-in/check-out a little difficult. But everyone is very chatty and hospitable.
Breakfast is included. You get a wide spread of breakfast buffet dishes.
Amenities: the Fulya is a sister hostel to Charly Pension. Dinner is served in this pension from 7-11. Dinner is simple but tasty and hearty. You get two courses for roughly TRL 45 per person.
In conclusion bearing in mind that the local tourism industry isn't strong, this dictates the quality of accomodation available. I do hope it picks up and Fulya pension gets more business as a result, purely on the friendliness of everyone working there.
My constructive feedback would be to make cleanliness a focus. For example if you know a guest is checking in, giving the room a once over before the check in wouldn't hurt, scrubbing out mildew once a month would make the bathroom more inviting. Just raising the cleanliness alone would help them gain a few more stars in the...
