Ramada by Wyndham Van — Hotel in Edremit

Overall, the room was clean and well-equipped with both central heating and an individual air conditioner. However, the staff were often unfriendly and seemed busy, frequently stepping outside to smoke, especially in the morning. Most of them also did not speak English. The hotel is quite isolated. While it has lake view, the view wasn't as appealing as I had hoped. There are only one or two expensive restaurants nearby, and they are not easy to walk to due to the lack of a proper path. The fact that you never see anyone walking in the area says it all. A major drawback was the lack of helpful information. The staff could not provide any details on public transport or long-distance bus schedules; their only suggestion was to take a taxi and go to the station and buy a ticket. I managed to get information for the local 102 bus purely by luck. Fortunately, I arrived early for the bus to Doğubeyazıt, which has a fixed schedule. If I had arrived after 9, I will have to wait for three hours. Other issues included an ATM they recommended initially that had no English language option, and an average breakfast that consisted of 90% cold dishes. If you go before 8 AM, there is no one ready to assist you. Verdict: Stay here only if you are driving and are primarily looking for a clean room in...

Great hotel in Van. After staying in old, stone rooms in Sanliurfa, Mardin and Midyat, it was almost like coming back to civilization being in this hotel lol. Nice, clean and modern. |We were given a room on the top floor with a view of the lake. I have to say I was a little concerned about music when I saw staff setting up for a wedding downstairs but it ended at 10 pm. |Breakfast was good. We were asked to wear gloves when getting food… (we had masks on already). I have to say that I didn’t really understand it as there were people serving themselves that didn’t even have a mask on! It didn’t make sense to me.|There was only 1 English channel on tv :((.|Water in lake Van in July was too cold for us (we tried to swim at Akdamar island and Ahlat but it was freezing) so we didn’t attempt it...
