We stayed at Club Tuana for 14 nights and had a good time overall, it is very family friendly and definitely a place the children will love. I would give it a 3.5/5 (good).||*I must note that the rating for this hotel would have been a 2 or lower if we had of remained in the standard park rooms which were bad based on the money we paid. The first night we arrived (party of 7 including infant) we were offered an apartment which could accommodate 7 people. The general consensus amongst us was that we wanted our own rooms and privacy so decided to stick with the standard rooms we had initially booked, however we instantly regretted our decision as soon as we saw the standard park rooms. Luckily we were able to still opt for the apartment which ended up working out well in the end.||I know people spend limited time in the rooms while on holiday so some people may not mind this, however we did care and believe you should get what you pay for (and the holiday wasn’t cheap). The standard park rooms we were given didn’t look anything like the photos. They were very small, quite dated, a 2-3 minute walk from the main hotel and the A/C really wasn’t good, it was almost like a fan just blowing hot air around the room. That being said we were fortunate to be offered an apartment and snatched at it. The reason I’m even mentioning the standard rooms is because if you’re not so lucky, you will likely remain here your entire holiday which would have negatively impacted the holiday and scoring respectively. Please see below summary of pros and cons as well as some tips for anyone looking to stay here:||Pros|-The resort is really well kept and very clean|-There is a variety of pools and small aqua parks including the main pool with a swim up bar, small kids pool (beside the main pool) with a slide, a kids aqua park, adult / older children aqua park (3 slides) and then you have the option of the sea as the resort has a private beach with pier|-There is a good gym for those like myself who look to alleviate the impact of an all inclusive holiday around the waist|-Plenty of activities throughout the day for adults and children. If you do book here there is a chart at the towel station with each activity and times; we didn't realise this until our first week into the holiday. The staff do walk around and let people know about the upcoming activities however its easy to miss them or not hear them hence why we never really knew about the activities the first week.|-The kids club is amazing, they are very good with the kids and keep them well occupied. Our son was only 3 at the time of our stay so we had to supervise him while he attended so only went on certain days and he loved it. Kids aged 4 and above can be dropped off and stay there all day at a cost so you can get some much needed break from the kids lol|-Food is outstanding, I really couldn't find a fault with it. There are so many options from the main restaurant buffet to the 4 al a cart restaurants you can book into via the app, the latter are set menus for each and the same everyday I believe, however the buffet and snack bar tends to change most days for certain themes|-Staff were generally quite pleasant except for a few, generally the service was good around the resort and they were friendly |-Mall complex with pretty much all the essentials including shops, spa, smoothie station, games / amusement area, toilets, TV showing the main football fixtures and other sports etc. The mall pricing for certain shops will be mentioned in the cons below, however think its worth mentioning the services located here as a pro because you will never really be stuck for the essentials even if it is at a higher cost |-The evening entertainment is good, there are a variety of shows with the odd bingo and quiz nights, we regularly attended the main theatre for the entertainment after dinner. They also do a kids disco at 8:30pm followed by a kids club reward ceremony, our son came first in some of the activities and got called up to stage and awarded with a lolly and a diploma so its a nice touch |-They have plenty of water stocked in fridges around the resort so you can help yourself during the day and evening||Cons:|-The cocktails are not mixed well at all, they are too strong to the point that they are undrinkable except for a few i.e. Malibu sunrise which seemed to be the only one we could enjoy|-WIFI is shocking and always makes you sign back in using your passport number pretty much every time it disconnects. I know you're on holiday and its good to get a detox from the phone which is a bit of a pro but it can be quite annoying when you have kids that want to unwind during parts of the day and watch their programmes on the phone / iPad|-The cost for some of the items in the retail shop, sports shop and bag shop are an extortionate compared to what you would pay in Fethiye town or even the shop just outside the resort. You can haggle to some degree for the clothes and bags however the grocery shop doesn't budge on anything |-The standard room (full details mentioned above)|-The beds are horrendous, I honestly don't think we got a single decent nights sleep, they're so hard its like laying on the ground|-There are photographers that walk round the pool and resort offering to take photos of you and your family. The photos are very good and my son got a few amazing photos with a parrot, when I went up to see the photos and enquire about payment I was told each photo is 10 euro, needless to say I was taken back by that and did state that was an extortionate amount however they said that was the price. I purchased four photos due to the pressure of the other half and feeling bad as when will my son ever get a photo with a parrot again so 40 euro later I have digital and 4 13 x 8 photos. Btw its the same price if you want digital copies only||Tips for future stayers:|-There is a shop outside of the resort; please make sure you go here. Do not go near the main shop in the resort mall, they just charge silly prices i.e. 40 euro for a pizza laylow |-As mentioned above, check out the chart at the towel station beside the kids pool to see the schedule of activities |-The towel station also offers sports equipment to play table tennis, basketball, tennis etc, there are courts at the other end of the resort|-Download the resort app, this is helpful and allows you to book into the restaurants etc|-You get ate alive here by insects, I don't know what it is that bites you but you can feel it and it leaves a mark. This is the first time I have been chewed to pieces like this so stock up on insect repellent |-Go through your travel provider (they have reps on site on certain days in the main mall area) to book excursions and Turkish baths etc, they offer a much more competitive rate and also explain everything to you that's include and do all the booking so you don't have to worry about he...
Read morePlease give the review a like if you find it useful…I’ve 200,000 read reviews, so smash a like if beneficial! ||This hotel was a pick by the Mrs and specifically based on a fair priced family of 5 holiday to Turkey. ||I’ll do a quick pro’s and cons and round it up. ||PRO’S|Great for family’s - room size for a family of 5 with the double room, great. ||Pools were good, warm and clean with loads of Activities for the little ones and relaxing enough for the adults. We loved all three pools and moved around as the day moved on to get out the mid-day sun.||Plenty of sun-loungers, some people moan on here that they are coming down late and not getting one, we saw loads free everyday (although we booked cabanas all week, mainly for a base for the kids to retreat to out the sun) ||All staff we found very helpful and full of smiles.||Food - considering the hotel runs a buffet style service, the quality and range was excellent. (I’m talking mainly main tea) The traditional Turkish food is right up my street but all the other options were great and the Turkish pied ..unreal! Breakfasts and dinners also all good. ||Communal spaces - All very clean and well managed. ||Entertainment - the kids club at night, very short but our 3 absolutely loved it. Big shout out to the tall pirate guy, who gave it everything when on stage! (But all the entertainment crew are excellent) ||Cabana’s - We booked different ones all week…really good space to relax and sunbathe and it comes with some ‘table service’ and wine and fruit in the afternoon. We found the beds at 4 and 8 the best…we did 20 which was out the way and in the shade a touch. ||There is a small area for animals on site and a large and small football pitch…me and the little man enjoyed taking a walk round before the evening meal. ||CON’S||Sleep quality - Awful, sorry to say, beds really hard, creaky and bedsheets like towels. We both slept awfully.||Rooms - spacious but dated in areas…the hotel rooms do not take into account the ‘adult time’ as in, when the kids are asleep, there is no balcony space to sit out with a drink and take the holiday in…once the kids are down, your also down (as we had a child in our room also) Our room was in the park area. ||Drink quality - Unless you like beer, you’re knackered. The general quality of cocktails and drinks is very poor…some bars the drinks (mixers) are from bottles and warm…the ones on draft tend to be ‘better’ but generally…it’s a shame the quality is poor. ||Restaurants- Main restaurants, if your a family you need to get down early to get a table (in the air-con) the hotel needs to work on making sure couples don’t sit on tables of 4/5 which should be reserved for families…I mean, what couple has the cheek to sit on a family table of 4 when your a couple? When the restaurant gets busy, it’s also very ‘wacky races’ and getting your own drinks when on evening meals, is annoying on holiday. ||The ‘Camera guy’ As a photographer myself…charging people £10 an image and then putting them in ‘pirates of the Caribbean portfolio from 2010’ isn’t on…I asked the guys how much for just an emailed version of the images…same price? Makes absolutely no sense? As a marketing tool…offer the customers a bundle of 10 images for £30 via email and you’ll shift twice the volume because double the people will buy them..so you’ll lose no revenue, but gain more exposure….come on marketing team! I paid £70 for 6 images but would have been happy to walk away had it not been for the kids wanting them! ||Midge’s - It’s not like there is loads, but you’ll 100% get bitten and the bites are harsh…so bring some good repellents. ||The ‘al la cart’ restaurants are good…we only tried the seafood one closest to the beach….really nice. ||Price point….due to a last minute date change (due to work commitments) we had booked Liberty hotel not far from this one….but had to book here due to those date changes….liberty was only £500 more for the week. I think this is a ‘pricey hotel’ for what it offers…we enjoyed the fact that the kids loved it here and had great experiences, so we are grateful for that! ||If we got this hotel in the off season at 3k a week…I’d be happy, but 6k for the week, I expect much more from an adult point of view (which I believe would have been...
Read moreWe’ve just returned from our second visit to Club Tuana. We arrived 20th August and stayed 12 nights. The previous year, we arrived same time, but stayed 10 nights. I have tried to write a review but it reads like War & Peace so here’s a Pros & Cons list:
Pros: • Beautiful grounds • Rooms cleaned daily / cleaners wonderful and friendly and no ask too much • Park side pool – generally quieter than the main. Own bar serving hot and cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and ice creams. Small catering unit next adjacent that does lovely burgers, chips, salads, etc • Catering – breakfast, lunch and dinner all offer a good variety of options and some scrummy deserts • Cold bottled water available across the site at all times (much needed!) • Wi-Fi is decent but does drop on iOS which requires you to log back in multiple times. Android appears to be ok
Cons: • Reception staff are rude – on arrival one gentleman was more interested in his phone than us - on departure, was not even asked if we had a good stay. • Park side rooms are run down and our room was worse than last year – air conditioning was temperamental, bathroom falling to bits, electricity and water supply poor. • Beds are uncomfortable – ask for a mattress topper • Dinner service is main restaurant cannot cope with demand and at peak times is chaotic and hard to get a table • On-site shops are a rip-off – use the shop off site which is
