The view in this town is AMAZING! I love snow topped mountains! This is my favorite part of this town.
They have a restaurant in same parking lot.
Breakfast has large variety. See video. They do not cook eggs though- super odd, I'm not eating raw eggs.
Bed - comfy Bath- great
Staff- most do not speak English, however all try to help the best they can. there are 20+ languages here, very diverse tourism here in Türkiye, so there must be grace.
Smoking- I was given a "non-smoking" room- it stunk! I was able to get a room change. Better as it wasn’t smoked in yesterday. However a neighbor was smoking at one point. Learned: this hotel does NOT enforce no smoking in non-smoking rooms. They shrug it off as "clients will do what they want." vs possible $500 FEE, or ASK at check in and give proper room. If complain about smoking- actually open door and check, give different room. Spoke w manager about this, he said he will work on this difficult situation throughout Turkiye, I hope he does. Smoking not only stinks to high heavens but also is the strongest irritant to your lungs/ ability to breath!
I was woken up at 11pm and 11:20pm by phone and constant knocking of man asking for ID they forget to collect at check in. I already spoke about ID with a man (unsure if same person) at 10pm, as I was still awake, finishing work- said I'll give them copy in am. Back story: I checked in at 4:30pm then went for drive and dinner, back at 7pm. I've already stayed at 10 other hiltons in Türkiye so they should have my ID in system. I am single woman traveler, this triggers safety and I generally do NOT get triggered on this but 11pm while sleeping and he was NOT GOING AWAY, then threatened to call police! Really I knew that was a fake, but still, unacceptable! Since I already answered the door to him at 10pm and said I'll go down in the morning and he said ok, plus all lights were out and I was in bed my response was "no, go away, in morning, no-one is dying" I'm not exaggerating at least 20 times, until eventually I SCREAMED. What does it take for folks to hear "NO." This is outright terrible! I left the phone off the hook the rest of the night. Good luck sleeping. PS My clock is still off by 13 hours, so sleep is extra important. The manager spoke w me in the morning, agreed it was unnecessary. No one was dying, nothing was going to change in 8 hours. He also refunded my night stay. He said he would provide training to all staff at all Hilton locations in Turkiye so this never happens to...
Read moreSo my evaluation is based on my experience at other Hiltons (in other parts of Turkey --and of the world) and there are a number of inconsistencies in this branch. The service quality comes and goes and some of the staff members seem to try and find ways around your pretty regular requests (ie. warm breakfast without eggs due to allergies). I needed to request multiple times and provide options myself (if you don't have mushrooms, perhaps some peppers with cheese?) The coffee quality at the breakfast is the lowest I have had in any Hiltons (the options are either instant coffee from the machine or really bad filtered coffee) or in any hotel for that matter. I suspect that's due to not having much of a coffee culture in the city overall so I would strongly recommend them to have someone to look into that matter. Hilton can easily set up a standard for this to ensure quality I presume. The hotel is located a bit far from the city centre (somewhat usual aspect for big hotel chains due to safety) and it's very easy and cheap to take a cab to the city centre. I very much liked to be surrounded by mountains. Oh, and the room cleaning was not thorough. I pointed this out and...
Read morewe stayed for 2 nights and it was horrible. The room was smelling really bad like cigarettes as if people had regularily smoked there. The bed was not comfortable and I do not want to know what the matress looks like.
I waited 15 Minutes in the morning for a coffee- not really normal and attrntive if you consider that european people drink coffee in the morning..
We didn‘t eat the breakfast, because 1. if the room smells so bad and is in such a bad shape, how does the kitchen look and 2. you can get way better breakfast in erzincan, that‘s way more authentic.
The hallways for our room were also in bad shape and smelt horrible like cigarettes. They had a diffusor installed to make the smell go away but it didn‘t do anything. And, the hallways were really creepy, almost no lights there, noz bright enough, everything in dark colours, really gave me backroom vibes…
I would never book this hotel again. Out of the two nights I maybe slept like 5 hours.. never...
