If in the Fethiye area the Saklikent gorge is worth a visit. Entry to the gorge costs 6 lira which is reasonable for the photographic opportunities alone. We visited in late September so were able to walk as much of the gorge as we chose as the water levels were not to high or dangerous, which they can be in the early season (April / May). We stayed overnight in one of the tree houses, which was an experience we didn't want to miss out on, but not great value for money 149 lira for the night, including breakfast. Overall the site is quite spectacular but is all about money making for the owners, food and drink not great and a bit expensive. It was quiet when we visited being near the end of season and the staff seemed a bit weary after a long season. Can't comment on the other activities available, rafting, bungee jumping, zip lines etc all aimed at the younger tourists. A local dolmus / mini bus will take you from Fethiye bus station to the gorge for 11 lira, however the service is also used by local villagers and our 15 seat bus had at least 30...

We went to Saklikent Gourge, first did the walk the following day we did the rafting. ||The rafting, we went for 1.5hrs option, but it turns out that the actual rafting is not 1.5hrs but close to 40mins only. They are being cheeky because they include the time you wait for the car to be picked up. After 40 mins we got out of the stream and we were waiting by the road to be picked up by the car. It seemed like ages, eventually a very, very old car turned up and we were picked up to be taken to the mud baths. Well, they seemed to have forgotten all about it and we had to ask to be taken there after we got dropped off. After mud bath they took ages to come to collect us. ||The staff probably couldn't care less after taking the money from you. You are being treated like one of many and if they don't deliver what is promised at the point of the sale, they most likely don't care. ||Personally I would skip the rafting, the water level is low and you get stuck on the rocks quite a bit. ||Won't be doing this again if I end up going there...

This is the second time Ive been to Saklikent gorge and i was surprised how low the water was this time. Arrive at the gorge and pay 15TL (£1) to access the gorge. Go through turnstill and narrow wooden footway leafs above the clear fast moving water into the gorge. There are a couple of places to buy ice cream, drinks but nothing major inside. You have to enter the freezing water by striding over large boulders which can be slippery...so beware of cameras etc. A rope assists you to walk through the fast moving knee high water. But it can be thigh height. Once you have traversed the fast flow its a gentle assault course through shingle and smooth boulders as you pass through some wonderful scenery with vistas high up into canyon above. Outside the gorge you can eat fish, chicken or kebab, all with salad for just 10TL. Drinks extra. We went on the inflatable rings down the river for 40TL each. Great fun and they pick you up at the other end of the river and drive you back to your belongings. Spend the whole day here its...

Quite comfortable campground with good facilities including a pool, hot water and good, clean toilets. There are several campsite beside the river. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There are several restaurants at the campground and down the road. There's also a small supermarket nearby. The campground restaurant plays loud music during the day which can be annoying and it's very busy. It quietens down at night. It's at the entrance of the gorge which is amazing. Visit the gorge early (before 10) to avoid the crowds and queues. It gets very busy later in the day. I recommend walking up to the waterfall (difficult in parts) which is as far as you can go without climbing equipment. Prepare to get wet.

Crazy busy during the day but charming at night - ask for a treehouse room for the full experience but be ready for some lopsided, slightly creaky engineering and busy shared bathrooms (the coach tours don't tend to find the bathroom block further from the river). Fantastic so long as your expectations are correctly set! Also worth noting that getting in to the gorge at opening time (8.30am) is worth it to beat the hordes.
