From the very first moment I walked into Mersu ALA Hotel, I didn’t feel like I was entering a hotel, I felt like I was being welcomed into someone’s home. Zahra and her husband, the kind-hearted owners, along with every single staff member, treat you with a level of warmth, care, and genuine hospitality that is beyond words.
Their kindness is simply breathtaking. They are the kind of people you thought no longer existed in today’s world, truly selfless, generous, and always putting your comfort first. Here, your happiness genuinely matters more than anything else, including money. They go above and beyond, with no expectations in return, just to see you smile.
They even helped us exchange money when we couldn’t find an exchange office nearby, nothing is ever too much to ask, and you truly feel like you’re reaching out to family, not hotel staff.
The room was extremely comfortable, with perfectly cold air conditioning (a must in summer!) and spotlessly clean floors, not carpeted like most hotels, but incredibly pristine and fresh. You can tell they take pride in every detail.
The only downside is the slightly weak phone and Wi-Fi signal in the area, but honestly, the kindness and authenticity of the people here make that completely irrelevant. It’s a small trade-off for the experience you get in return.
I will definitely be coming back again and again. This is not just a place to stay, this is a place to feel...

There were shops right outside the hotel, almost like a little souq, there were shops for souvenirs, food, and dessert. There was a sitting area outside with a waterfall. Service was amazing water bottles and tissues were restocked without being asked too. We left to tour around, came back and saw water bottles and tissue on the door for us, which showed that the our privacy was respected. Staff are super friendly, they chat with you and invite you to sit with them for a cup of tea. We also watched a football match with them at night. They were so inviting and sweet. We got a suite and it was super spacey and peaceful. Room was clean and well organized. Breakfast was great. It was not a buffet like what I usually would like. But it was good and clean food. If you ask for more they will give it to you, no matter how many times you ask. And when we checked out the lady gave us free souvenirs as a gift. Overall experience was amazing and i would...
Read moreTravelling as a family of 4, we recently spent two nights at Mersu Ala Hotel. On arrival, we were greeted by Zehra and her wonderful team, along with the sound of birds and a running mountain stream flowing.
Mersu Ala Hotel is set in a wooded valley, which is lovely setting to relax in and just unwind. The team at Mersu Ala assist in this by being attentive, but not intrusive, caring for every guest as they would family.
We stayed in winter and were pleased to find the rooms both warm and cosy. The breakfast on offer was also plentiful and tasty, accompanied by a steaming pot of tea, a real treat. We also found the rates for our stay to be of great value for the Kartepe region.
I highly recommend Mersu Ala Hotel should you wish to unwind or have a forest holiday on the road to Kartepe Ski Centre.
And yes, I would stay here again, such was the enjoyment...
