I recently had the misfortune of staying at MÖVENPICK RESORT ANTALYA TEKIROVA, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. From start (today is the second day that I am staying here and I am considering changing the hotel), this stay was riddled with issues that turned what should have been a relaxing getaway into a frustrating ordeal.Last year I was at the same hotel which then was called ROYAL DIWA, and I liked it overall (also left a good review) despite some small problems which were fixed but this year it was a disaster.
Check-In Experience: The problems began at check-in. The front desk staff seemed disinterested and unwelcoming. I was greeted with a curt nod, and there was no smile or effort to make me feel like a valued guest. The process was slow, and the staff member appeared to be struggling with basic tasks like processing finding my reservation. It was an uncomfortable start that set the tone for the rest of the stay.
Room Condition: Upon entering my room, I was immediately hit by a musty odor, like the room hadn't been properly cleaned or aired out in weeks. The floor was stained and looked like it hadn't been vacuumed for days. The furniture was old, worn out, stained and mismatched, giving the room a shabby appearance. To make matters worse, the bed linens were questionable at best; they looked dingy and felt rough to the touch. The bathroom was no better. It was clear that cleanliness was not a priority at this hotel. Not to mention the insects and spider webs living at my room. Also my little cousin (2 years old) had an infection from the dirty pool they have and the hotel couldn’t even provide the minimal health care and we had to go at the hospital. The other thing that I would like to mention is that we paid for other rooms and we were given completely different rooms. My grandparents had to stay at a room in the worst condition ever because the hotel putted another family in my grandparents room.
Amenities and Facilities: The advertised amenities were either non-existent or in such poor condition that they were unusable. The pool area was dirty, with debris floating in the water and a strong smell of chlorine. The fitness center was laughable, only a couple of outdated machines, half of which were broken. The Wi-Fi, which was supposed to be complimentary, barely worked. I could hardly get a signal in my room, and when I did, it was painfully slow. I ended up using my own mobile data for the stay.
Service and Staff: The lack of service and hospitality at this hotel was shocking. Housekeeping was inconsistent; yesterday , they simply skipped my room entirely, and the day they did show up, they did a poor job. Towels weren’t replaced, and trash was left behind. When I called the front desk to request fresh towels they didn’t bother to answer at all, and when I went myself to the receptionist I was met with an annoyed tone and told I would have to wait several hours, which is unacceptable in any hotel.
Dining Experience: The on-site restaurant was another disappointment. The food was bland and clearly made with low-quality ingredients. The service was slow, and the waitstaff was inattentive. Breakfast was a joke with limited options. I ended up not eating breakfast to avoid the hotel's lackluster offerings.
Location: The only redeeming quality of this hotel is its location, but even that was marred by the overall poor experience. It’s close to the airport but with so many better options nearby, it’s not worth sacrificing comfort and cleanliness for convenience.
Overall Impression: In conclusion, MÖVENPICK RESORT ANTALYA TEKIROVA is a hotel I would not recommend to anyone. The lack of cleanliness, poor service, and overall disrepair of the property made my stay incredibly unpleasant since the first day I came. With so many other hotels in the area, do yourself a favor and choose a different one. MÖVENPICK RESORT ANTALYA TEKIROVA needs a serious overhaul in both its facilities and staff training. Until that happens, I suggest avoiding it...
Read moreSo, first off .....I have to say if you are visiting this hotel as a Brit you will have to overcome the unfriendliness of other guests as this is not your typical Brits abroad location, once you get past that (if you can ) its amazing. We did get off to a rocky start trying to navigate our way around, the staff when we arrived didn't speak very good English and just gave us a sheet of paper and took us to our room as it was around 3am when we arrived. We were here for 12 days (originally 10) but we had such a wonderful time we asked if we could stay and pay for an extra 2 days (massive thanks to Ali baba and Abdulrahman for making this possible), we were 2 adults and a child (6). The food was good and there is just so much to choose from but always fresh and tasted great, the outside grill in the evening was good and always had a good selection of meat and fish. My little boy needed a couple of days to adapt to the food (no chicken nuggets or pizza) but once we had found our way around we discovered that there were all different little food huts dotted around the complex that did other food like chicken and chips and pizza's. We booked a Comfort Suite Room which was surprisingly big and was split on 2 levels and had 2 bathrooms which we didn't expect, and it was cleaned on a regular basis, Mini bars and coffee was restocked everyday and included in the price. The Aqua park was great for the little one and even we had fun. We booked a bed on the beach a few times and it was always a good experience the staff were friendly and always waited on us. The Beach is beautiful and very relaxed its not your typical run for a sunbed and put your towel on it place, there are plenty of sun loungers to accommodate all guests at any time of day (note that you might want to purchase sea socks as its tiny tiny pebbles) Entertainment was good, we visited the Neptune bar regularly and the Staff were great, especially Mustafa and Zuzana. and the Beach Bar is good for after hours from 12am-6am if you fancy a late one. Reception staff in the day were always helpful and there is always iced lemon and mint water available along with Prosecco. We booked through Jet2 and our Rep Stephanie was great she is such a lovely lady. Massages are also a plus and the staff were great (again thanks to Ali and Alvin) although a bit pricey but what the hell we are on holiday ...right ?? We had family photos taken and the guys were professional and very funny. We did a Cable Car excursion up to the top of Olympos Teleferik which was my little boys idea ...he loved it ( I was terrified lol ) but it was a great day out. Jet Skiing was also a plus and you can book all this with the hotel or you rep. Although its not close to any large town the town itself is a stones throw away and there is always a taxi outside that can take you to the centre for any essentials for around 5euro's. The hotel itself is beautiful its heavily visited by eastern Europeans and we only met very few Brits and mainly just couples but there were also a few families, we wanted a family holiday and a bit of privacy so it was perfect for us. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for peace and quiet and really just wants to do there own thing as a couple...

Let’s start with the reservation disaster. We arrived on a Saturday night, only to find out that our booking hadn’t come through due to an error by their partner agency. Instead of helping us you know, what any decent hotel should do the staff decided to treat us like scammers. They told us our long-trusted travel agency was fake and refused to call or contact them because it was one a foreign number and they didn’t want to “pay extra.” And two not their “job” I mean, really?
They kept calling and messaging us, literally harassing us for money as if we were squatters all because they had no record of our booking. And the cherry on top? They dragged in other random staff members who had nothing to do with the issue, so suddenly everyone in the hotel knew our situation. At one point, people were watching us through the door while we were trying to speak with someone in charge. Disrespectful doesn’t even begin to describe it.
The assistant manager and reception staff who handled our case were completely unprofessional. Instead of reassuring and actually helping us, they managed to ruin the first few days of our stay. Eventually our traveling agency solved it. When we finally asked to speak to the manager to explain him what we went through, I instantly regretted it. Not only was he dismissive, he didn’t even attempt to apologize that is, until Mustafa, the Chief Front Officer (and the only competent person we dealt with), stepped in and gave us a proper apology. Only then did the manager follow suit, probably just to save face.
As for the service? What service? Zero communication. The only people I actually respect are the young staff working in the heat serving food and drinks they were kinder and more helpful than the 5 people standing behind the air-conditioned reception desk doing absolutely nothing most of the time. Instead of helping out at the overworked bar, they just hang around chatting. Also, 95% of the staff doesn’t speak English, only Turkish and Russian which, for a so-called “international 5-star resort,” is shocking. You’ll need Google Translate for everything.
Now the food. Let me just say: bland is putting it mildly. Chicken and meat are often undercooked, and the fish I had was literally rotten and brown underneath. Fruit quality? Disappointing. Not what you’d expect from a five-star buffet.
Rooms are barely cleaned. They make the bed, that’s about it. No refill of toilet paper unless you ask. They don’t change towels. For a five-star hotel? That’s just embarrassing. The power went out in the middle of the day. No electricity, no Wi-Fi, no explanation. The only nice thing I can say about this hotel is the beach.
This place does not deserve its five stars. Take a few off, at least. Absolutely shocked by this experience and this is so...
