İSKALİTA BUTİK HOTEL — Hotel in Maçka

Stayed at Iskalita on a short trip to see the Sumela Monastery - I was looked after very attentively by the hostess (whose name I didn't get, regrettably) even though it was very much the tourist off season.

Even if I hadn't been here to see the Sumela Monastery (which I was able to walk to comfortably from Iskalita) the bed in my room would've been worth the trip alone. Room was cosy and warm*, views of the mountains around were spectacular, and all in all it was everything I needed.

One thing to be forewarned of is that it is quite remote - there aren't any shops/markets nearby, so if you don't have your own car to get back into Macka, you might want to arrive pre-prepared (though to be clear, that is part of the hotel's appeal and not intended as a criticism)

*There was a minor problem with an upgrade through booking.com but that appears to be on their side of things -- I'd not fault the hotel for a third...

I booked this hotel 2 time once in 2021 and once in 2022 I really liked the place and my friends and brother as well his visit the hotel this year the pace is amazing middle of natural and there is historical place called sumela monastery worth is to visit but near walk more walk 😅 thanks 🙏to Mrs . Neriman the owner of hotel very kind I felt she’s my 2nd grandmother she felt me I’m like his son grandson with me and with who was with me there. Her husband as well very kind and the food at hotel very delicious and healthy because the use all fresh products , the room at hotel has amazing view , the rooms size very good and it’s different rooms at hotel the finishing the design is amazing and it’s near by trabzon city center by car 40 minutes so I really recommend to book this hotel and if I come again to trabzon for sure of places I’ll stay and book this...

I think you need to keep an open mind when going somewhere like this. Overall the host was extremely nice and cooked us an amazing breakfast that was delicious and also provided us with services when asked. However, the system was down when we stayed and so you couldn’t call room service or hotel assistance and had to directly call the owner/person on duty (understandable as these things happen sometimes). You also have to expect that there will be some insects and whatnot cause you’re surrounded by nature. Other than that I have to say the location was impeccable with a view of the mountain peaks and the river as well, additionally the weather was nice and cool. I would recommend going to this hotel honestly it’s very peaceful and really encompasses the ‘relaxing...
