Meriç Hotel Turunç — Hotel in Marmaris

I didn't have high expectations considering it's a budget hotel, but we had a wonderful vacation!

Room: From the moment we arrived, we received an upgrade to a room with a partial sea view. The room was very spacious, with a double bed and a single bed. Since there were two of us, we combined the beds, and there was still plenty of space. The cleanliness wasn't great, neither at arrival nor during the stay. We only allowed housekeeping in twice to change the towels and take out the trash, that's all.

Restaurant: Quite small and sometimes crowded. I can't say there was nothing to eat; the food was tasty. I liked the yogurts the most. However, the coffee was extremely bad, so I drank Turkish tea. We bought hot chocolate from the market because, although the coffee machine had a hot chocolate button, it only dispensed water.

Beach: Extremely small for the hotel's capacity. During the first two days, we couldn't find a spot on the beach. People reserve sunbeds, go early in the morning, leave their towels, and don't return until noon. Those who can't swim will have a problem because the water is deep right from the start. Also, in August, after 5:15 PM, there's no more sun on the beach as it goes behind the mountain. The sea water is extremely clean and clear, with no waves at all.

Bar: There is a bar by the pool, with extremely friendly staff and really good cocktails. It's the first time at a 4* hotel in Turkey that we actually enjoyed the cocktails. The music is also very diverse and pleasant. The only downside: the bar closes for cleaning between 7-8 PM. We wanted to have a drink before dinner and then eat, but this was never possible because of the bar's closure during those hours.

Cons:

Elevator: Although there are 2 elevators, they are very slow and not designed for a hotel with 10 floors. Cleanliness: In general, the hotel wasn't extremely clean; cats would even get into the restaurant. I know that Turks love animals, but they shouldn't be allowed in the restaurant. Pros:

Private beach Internet everywhere in the hotel, and it actually worked Friendly and helpful staff Decent food Spacious rooms with a wonderful, peaceful view Air conditioning Overall, we had a wonderful stay, we felt good, and I think we would return...

Although the first contact with the hotel was a bit unpleasant due to the cleanliness that leaves a lot to be desired (mouldy smell, the room was not at all hygienic, the bathroom was dirty (so I had to clean it to be able to use it) the stay was enjoyable thanks to the kind young people who work there. Thanks to the guys at the pool bar, they were so good, we don't know how the time passed with our conversations, it was a real pleasure to meet you. The eternal lover ISO😍, the best cocktails Kadır😘😘😘...Recep ... He knows his nickname 😜😝. A thousand thanks to the kitchen staff too. The food was excellent and very diverse. I forgot to take the best pilaf recipe from the chef. Thanks also to Muhammad, always kind and with a smile on his face. ....To the attention of the owner: It is a shame to have such a beautiful location with wonderful landscapes with a hardworking staff to let it deteriorate with a little involvement from you, I think it would really be a 4-star hotel, everything was a 10 except for the cleanliness of the rooms which is 1 with indulgence and that I guess you have no staff as during the entire stay I only saw 3 children that I cannot call women. A lime on the walls does not mask the mould, the cracks in the walls, the furniture, the air conditioning, which does not work anymore. Don't bother!!! Awful is an understatement, still currently here but home tomorrow, we are a couple who don't mind basic as long as it's clean....||Arrived 8 days ago, first room they offered was a building site with shower parts air vents etc in the shower and sink, filthy dirty! No sockets on the wall, bed stained, walked in and out , 2nd room was not much better but bed cleanish, they said there was no more rooms free but if we stayed there 1 night we would be given a better room, as this was near midnight we agreed to 1 night, filthy, no sockets, no door handles, brown toilet, I could go on, 3rd room the next day, yes we got a better room with sea view and compared to last two it was a great improvement but still a brown toilet, dirty sink,floor, mirrors etc, towels and sheets are grey and stained, I would throw them out! Cleaning staff hit and miss when you see them, we cleaned the room ourselves, bed changed once, had to ask for toilet rolls 3 times, pool not bad and bar staff friendly, in the corridors plaster coming off the wall, please just don't stay here we didn't let it ruin our holiday as turunc is a beautiful place but did depress us a little, I have taken photos of all the rooms we stayed in and someone will be getting a complaint, we have stayed in much better places in turunc so guess we was unlucky||DO...
