We stayed for a weekend towards the end of July. There is a lot to say about this "5 star hotel" so I will sum it up in a few bullet points below:
Service - Horrendous with the exceptions of a couple of staff members
The service was absolutely non-existant. We came at 12pm and asked if there is a possibility to get in our rooms earlier. There wasn't which was understandable and were told to come at 2pm for our check-in time. We were told the rooms weren't clean. Again that was fair. However, when we came at 2pm on the dot we were told to wait for some reason. I asked how long and was told "I don't know" by the receptionist. After 1 hour and 15 mins of waiting in the lobby, watching some people get checked in while others like us weren't, I went and spoke with the female manager and she told us to wait a little longer because there was an issue. We weren't told what the issue was. After finally going to our rooms we noticed we only had: One towell, no towells for the hair or feet Only one pair of slippers The room was dirty with rice and other bits on the floor A used sugar package on the floor behind the door which meant the cleaners didn't even shut the door to clean properly The window behind the curtain looked as if someone had smeared ketchup on it Both the duvet and the bed sheets had red and brown stains on them. I then had to go and collect all of the things I needed from the cleaners using Google translate (as few in the hotel knew English) and we were told by them they didn't have any towels and only gave us towels for the feet. In the following days we didn't even get replacement towells because apparently there is a towell shortage. By the way I let the receptionists and the cleaners know of all of this but no one really seemed to care. It was now 5:30 by the time I managed to get settled in and scavenge hunt for everything we needed so we decided to go to the outdoor pool. We stayed all of 20 minutes before a girl came to us and said we had to go to the other outdoor pool (which was tiny and there was not enough space for all) because there would be a wedding there?! The other pool had 3 water slides which were full of small chilldren that were going down unsupervised. There was one girl from staff at the top which was only looking at her phone under an umbrella and didn't care what was happening. Meanwhile kids were gathering at the bottom, blocking the slide entrance which could have resulted in a serious injury. Yet no one seemed to care. After all the wedding was more important than the guests. Also good luck trying to order a drink at the indoor bar, because there is either no one there to serve you, no matter how much you ring the bell, or when there is someone they'll tell you that they don't have the alcohol to make your drink.
Amenities - Lots of things broken or dirty
I saw one comment 6 months before we went that the water from the taps was brown then. The hotel said that this was an issue that they were working on and wouldn't happen the next time those people stayed. Well guess what, water was still brown from the taps and in the toilet with particles comming off it, which made us use mineral water to brush our teeth and had us scared to shower. In terms of the spa, you will likely notice a lot of flaws there as well. Broken sunbeds, the air blowers on the indoor hot tub weren't fully working (only 4 out of like 20 or so were), the sauna had broken wooden boards on the first seating row and a broken water dispencer was leaking which made my mother slip.
Food - Great
The breakfast was actually really good and had a wide array of options for food and drink. The food in the restaurant was also really good and not too expensive. The older gentleman working there was also very pleasant and funny!
The view - Probably the best in the area.
Overall, I would not recommend to anyone and I don't know how they have 5 stars. I have been in better 3 star hotels. No sort of compensation was ever offered at any point despite people knowing their guests...
Read moreI had initially very good impressions of the hotel but that quickly changed. I’ve been to lots of 5 stars hotels around the world, it was my first stay in one of the Ramada group. Initial impressions: beautiful hotel, upper class for the region it is located in. Nice pool, beautiful panorama view, clean lobby, friendly staff. We had a friendly and quickly nightly check in (3:am due to delayed flights). Unfortunately and like with so many hotels in Turkey the details started showing that the appearance to the outside and reality are different. The water from the sink just stinks. You have to shower and wash your face in water that smells. Make sure to not drink any to avoid getting sick. I have experienced this before in Turkey but in 2024 and especially in a 5 star hotel this is unacceptable. Breakfast is the same everyday no variation at all during a 7 day period. In the breakfast are the floor was dirty. Under the table next to us there was a fork and fries on the ground. There were multiple staff walking around it and noticing but did not pick it up. It was there for more than 2 hours and still when we left. What blew our mind is when we came back the next morning it was still there??? There is NO fresh orange juice. The orange juice is so bad, it tastes like the worst and cheapest industrial product you can find in BIM. Every restaurant in a gas station in Turkey will give you fresh orange juice, this 5 star hotel can’t. There is only 1 börek available which is cold and not particularly inviting to eat. For desert the same cakes everyday and cookies from ülker you can get in BIM. No baklava or anything traditional nothing.. Back to the rooms, this hotel only gives you 2 plastic bottles of 0.5 litres a day. Btw water in Turkey is super cheap. In a country with 29 degrees average this should be at least 2liters a day. Come on you are a 5 star hotel. Do i have to dehydrate or buy extra water when i pay more than 100 euro a day for this hotel? Or do i have to drink water from the sink that smells? We also had to ask reception if we could get new water as room cleaning did not provide us with any. There are no special little products in the bathroom. One big bottle of handwash, big bottle of conditioner and of body and hairwash together in 1. All of bad quality. After 4 days we found out the conditioner was filled with hand wash and the hand wash tube was conditioner. So we were washing our face for 4 days with conditioner! The sound insulation is so so bad. You can hear everything from your neighbours and the hallway. So get ready to be woken up multiple times! Our door was broken and did not automatically close when we are in the room. We only found out after 4 days after our dad entered our room by mistake. So we had been sleeping for 4 days with an unlocked door and anyone could’ve come in. They could not fix this, luckily we ourselves found a cumbersome way to in the end be able to lock our door. The blanket to sleep under is a hard blanket, i don’t understand why you don’t give your guests a soft blanket. Just unbelievable.
Now what REALLY bothered me and why i unfortunately have to give 2 stars. The Hotel hosts weddings which is nice, next to the swimming pool in a beautiful setting. The big party ended at 00:00 which is perfect and very respectful for your hotel guests. Us ready to go to sleep were surprised by loud music starting again 5 minutes later. The afterparty went on untill 2:30 am. You are keeping a whole hotel hostage for a party? You think this is normal? Your hotel is mostly used by people in transit travelling by car to europe. They have to stay awake untill 2:30 because you host a party? This is not Turkish riviera. Your Hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, yet you manage to keep all your guests up untill 2:30 am. I must say congratulations on that...
Read moreThe big plus is a nice view from the balcony and a rich varied breakfast. Also the staff was friendly. But minuses are quite a lot for a 5 star hotel, which are: dirty wc (really?), also the toilet was nearly broken the tap water had a smell pizza was too simple and not that tasty strange confusion with breakfast (while check-in we were told we have; while trying to get our breakfast in the morning we were told that we don't; while making a reservation on official website it wasn't even written...) the location is ok if you plan to go to vineyards, but far from Tekirdag city center; literally it's nowhere to go, you have to use a taxi (the only small forest Kent Ormanı which is near the hotel is too crowded on weekends, we had to pay for the entrance, look around and then leave) the SPA area also wants some renovation : half lockers were broken, jacuzzi was half broken. the walls are thin, so classic moment when you've been woken up by your next door neighbor in the early morning.. In conclusion : it's better to stay here during summer, they have an outdoor pool, aquapark, some activities, concert area. Maybe then it worths it's money. But on our stay I wouldn't say that, too many disadvantages for such a price. So it's OK for 1-2...
