On 22th of August i(21 years old)and my brother(15 years old) wanted from Cappadocia to Konya travel. We traveled around Turkey. Our Bus was at 22:30 O’clock and there was around 3 or 4 hours ride. We booked a room for a night because we were sure that we arrive late so we decided to book the hotel first. The hotel wanted from us our card number for assurance and we gave it. There were some selection switches for our arrival time. We selected our arrival time after 24:00. We booked the hotel at morning but they called us on 22:00( i am not sure about the time) and they told us that it is late and we transfer you to our branch( Gherdan Park hotel). I said ok because i didn’t want any argument. Around 02:00 o’clock we reached to our destination in Konya. We were really tired and we wanted to rest. We went to the hotel but they told us that our booking is canceled. We were shocked. I told them that i booked a room and i told you that we are coming at this time. They called us before several times and every time i emphasized that we are coming at this time. I didn’t want really any trouble so i asked for any empty room but it was interesting because they didn’t had any empty rooms. What should we do at this time, Sir? I was a little angry and that was my question and the man had nothing to answer. We were really tired because one day before we walked for many hours and we didn’t sleep for 20 hours. What should i say to them? We were just lucky because the driver who brought us to the hotel knew another one. It was cheaper and in the city near to Mevlana museum.( Mevlana Hotel) Gherdan hotel was really far from Mevlana museum and we paid around 60 Lira for the taxi. I would like just say that their behavior was not fair and could call Police at that time but i didn’t. We were just travelers and we didn’t know the city. It was...
Read moreStaying at Gherdan Gold has been a true pleasure. Staff members are polite, welcoming and helpful, with attention to detail. Free coffee, tea and water is provided in the room. The breakfast is varied, with warm and cold foods. The mini bar in the room has soft drinks and snacks, but no alcohol (this might be surprising to some, but remember, Turkey is a predominantly Muslim country. If you're really itching for a drink, there's a small mini market across the street where you can purchase alcohol). If you're Muslim and you want to pray, there's a small arrow inside the cupboard that shows the direction of Mekka. Dinner can be ordered to the room and you're provided free Turkish tea (çay) with your dessert. The level of service far exceeds a 4-star hotel in this price range. Covid rules such as wearing masks and social distancing is are abided by staff. Desinfectant is provided in handy locations on every floor. There's a gym which is small but includes essentials for working out. I'd stay here again any time. Thank you so much to...
Read moreI have been staying in hotels for years, but when it comes to Konya, this is not a family-friendly hotel and not a hotel u can have rest peacefully . The woman at the reception is quite disrespectful to guests and tries to charge more than the price she initially quotes or price on web. When you tell her that this is not acceptable, she responds with a rude tone as if there's something wrong with your mind. If you plan to use the gym, spa, or pool, it's a complete disaster. When I went down to work out calmly in the morning, I saw all the staff sleeping lazily in the chairs. You can't comfortably do your workout because you're exposed to the stares of sleeping people. I came here from Ireland, but I'm really not satisfied. Also, there is no privacy in the rooms; when evening falls, the inside of your room is visible from the neighboring...
