First of all, I would like to start with the highlights. We really appreciated the complimentary offers in our room, the city view was incredibly nice, and the very attentive staff member at the omelette/gözleme station at breakfast (Mr. Ahmet Efe) made a truly positive impression with his professional service, friendliness, and smile.
Unfortunately, the rest of our stay left us rather disappointed. Upon arrival, we could hardly find a parking slot. The hotel seems to prioritize weddings and conventions, which means there are not enough parking spaces for actual hotel guests. Normally, I would expect hotel guests—who pay for accommodation and service—to come first, but sadly this was not the case.
The hotel itself feels old-fashioned and does not give the impression of cleanliness or freshness. The dark décor adds to this dated feeling, and there was no fresh or hygienic scent in the hallways or rooms. Although I had booked a non-smoking room, the air was heavily smoky, and by morning there was an even stronger smell of smoke in the bathroom—likely coming in from neighboring rooms. The door sign was prepared without any effort and in the photos, you will see a picture of it with Loren Ipsum:)
The biggest disappointment, however, was breakfast. It did not reflect the quality or warmth of Turkish hospitality. The entrance had no staff checking room numbers, so it felt chaotic from the start. Most of the staff were interns or students who, although trying, gave an impression of inexperience and lack of training. The result was an uncoordinated and sometimes chaotic service.
The buffet itself was not of high quality, nor was it varied enough for what one expects from a five-star hotel. Food presentation was poor, with empty bowls waiting to be refilled, and when they were, it was done in a rushed and unfriendly manner in the open kitchen. Many items did not appear fresh, with flavors hidden under heavy sauces and spices. The charcuterie selection was particularly disappointing—low quality and already dried out.
The only true highlight at breakfast was Mr. Ahmet Efe at the omelette and gözleme station. He worked on his own but did a fantastic job—welcoming guests warmly, keeping small talk, and showing genuine hospitality. Without him, the breakfast experience would have been much worse.
Later, I walked in the garden, which does offer a pleasant atmosphere with a nice view on a sunny day. However, even here the corner bar was poorly maintained, with unclean dishes left out—again, not something you want to see in a hotel that claims to be five stars.
All in all, this stay was far below five-star standards. There were too many disappointments, from parking to cleanliness to food quality. The hotel has much higher potential than what is currently being delivered, which makes the experience even...
Read moreThis hotel has to be one of the worst hotels we have stayed at.||Location:|Terrible location to visit sights.|It’s 15-20 minutes from the main attractions and what appears to be an industrial area off the high way ||Service:||We arrived, I’m pregnant and traveling with a 7 year old. No one assisted us with our bags. Staff was standing around idle in the entrance||Ambience:|Awful, lights are switched off in the main hotel. They claim to be 5 stars. I would say 2 is apt. It’s eerily depressing ||Room:|So many issues with our room, drain and safe wasn’t working, the roll out bed they provided to my child had no quilt, and the bed was broken. Aircons malfunctioned. The hotels ventilation system smells of cigarette smoke, being pregnant this was unbearable. Woke up to congested nose, bedsheets and the entire room smelling of cigarettes. They tried to assist in changing our room. All of the rooms had the same problem.||Customer service:|About 2 staff members speak broken English, only able to communicate via Google translate. When we spoke to them about cancelling our reservation and issuing a refund, they said we are unable to. No manager is on duty. An absolute health hazard for me. After a 24 hour journey traveling to turkey, this is not the experience we wanted.||Stay away, choose Hilton garden inn which is better location wise and cheaper. Don’t expect much from...
Read moreA bit disappointed with this hotel. Didn't expect this from Ramada. I am an experienced traveler, 59 countries of the world and have stayed in Ramada in the USA, Australia and New Zealand, as in other countries of the world, I have never met such an attitude anywhere. This is especially surprising in Turkey, which is famous for its hospitality. Absolutely non-welcoming staff.
Knowledge of English. Only the reception staff speaks English from the entire hotel. It is almost impossible to order food to your room, the staff does not understand you, the main menu is only available on TV, it is not convenient, it appears every 10 minutes! Recommended by the hotel system, other chain hotels, including Ramada, have switched to the menu by scanning the barcode, it becomes available in your smartphone.
Additionally disappointed with the ventilation, in the next room they smoked all night and all this blew into the room. A separate word about the bathroom, the sink is clogged, the water costs 10 minutes, it does not leak. An additional minus to the cups for coffee and tea in the room, they spilled hot coffee on themselves, due to the fact that the bottom of the glass came off.
Will definitely come back to explore the city of Konya in more detail, this time there was no such opportunity, but I will hardly stay at this hotel.
Nice view...
