Review for Mövenpick Hotel Malatya – June 2025

I stayed at the Mövenpick Hotel Malatya with my father on June 4 for one night and had a truly pleasant experience. The receptionist Bengül and the breakfast staff Okan were extremely welcoming and kind. Everything was professional, warm, and in line with what one expects from an internationally known hotel brand.

However, when we returned for a second stay on June 7, we were met with a situation that left me shocked and disappointed. Upon our arrival, we parked our car in front of the entrance. A doorman greeted us, seemed to recognize our vehicle, and noticed a dent in the back of the car — which my father had been driving.

As we stepped out, the doorman looked at me and immediately asked whether I had caused the damage. When I asked why he would assume that, he had nothing to say and simply stayed silent. This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable and deeply disrespectful. It felt not only rude but also highly inappropriate and misogynistic to single me out without any justification.

When I informed the receptionist that I had been treated unfairly and that I intended to mention the incident in a review, the only response I received was: 👉 “Please don’t.” No apology, no concern – just an attempt to silence criticism.

This experience left a bitter impression and is far below what one expects from the Mövenpick brand. I sincerely hope that this kind of behavior is taken seriously and followed up with appropriate staff training in respectful guest interaction and basic...

This is my third Trip to Malayta Turkey. I have stayed at the Movenpick every trip and could not be more satisfied with the hotel. The cleaning staff do an excellent job. Asuman and Reşan were most polite and took cleaning to an excellent level. I met another nice lady this morning. Zeynep  went out of her way to be helpful to me. She did an excellent job at cleaning my room. Not only did she make me feel welcome she treated me as if I were family. I was very impressed with Bayram he went out of his way to find out where and how to find out about getting the covid test for my flight on Monday. All the individuals that work at the reception desk are friendly and very helpful. The restaurant staff are very accommodating to me even with the language barrier. They are very friendly and give excellent  service. The hotel is located close to a shopping mall and several individually owned shops. There is a beautiful park across the street that has some great restaurants. I have stayed at this hotel on my three visits now to Turkey and I could not be more pleased. I made a reservation to stay again at Movenpick Hotel Malatya on May 27, where I was pleased to stay for 2 years and was happy with the comfort and attention of the employees to the guests. They asked for the full room fee to confirm my reservation. I said that I always stayed at this hotel and that they had never had such an application before. The accounting department said that the progress from now on would be like this. I still do not understand the relationship of accounting with the reservation. Thereupon, I called the sales manager and he did not even answer my phone. The current stance of the hotel is based on money. Guest satisfaction has been put on the back burner. I canceled my reservation and made a new reservation through the agency. When the agency called the hotel, they said that I had a debt to the agency from 2024 and that they would not confirm my reservation if it was not paid. How true is this conversation with the agency? For these reasons, I will not choose this hotel again. I expect your support so that other people and companies who stay there do not fall into this situation like me....
