This is one of those places with a very shiny outside and opulent lobby but somewhat tatty rooms. The lobby has a big chandelier while the rooms have lighting so bad that I had to use a headlamp to read in bed. On the plus side the bed linen was super clean and starched just crisp enough to feel good. On the minus side every spring poked up to the surface of the mattress making for an uncomfortable sleep. It may have been a base rather than a mattress. My friends all reported the same experience. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a shower over the chipped bath. There was ample hot water. The window was filthy outside. There might have been a good view of the Caspian Sea but it was blurred by the scum on the glass. The wifi worked pretty well considering that this is Turkmenistan where internet connection is not a given. There was obviously no VPN with many (most) social media, websites and links in messages disabled as they are about everywhere.||Breakfast was good with an a la carte menu in English. For those who like it, the Turkish breakfast included Caspian Sea caviar. Дверца шкафа была сломана, душ фонтанировал во все стороны, а сверху капал "дождь". Ни шампуня, ни мыла, ни фена...два полотенца, без лицевого. Подушки жуткие, наволочки порванные и в целом постельное белье несвежее. Отсутствует сервис, в частности, доставка из ресторана. Причем, оплату за номер потребовали тут же при заселении. Планировала остаться на трое суток, но выехала на следующее утро. Жуткое впечатление! Худшего отеля...
