Delta is once again flying non-stop to Turks & Caicos from Detroit and we were so excited to try out Amanyara. Although the most expensive resort we have ever stayed at, it was a special celebration for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It turned out to be just that, although the worst experience instead of the best. After reading all the negative reviews on TA and Google, I had my agent send them to Dusan, the resort manager. My agent expressed that we were not going to accept anything less than 100% luxury and pampering. We were assured that would be the case. It turned out that all the negative reviews were spot on. And I am suggesting to you that if you are reading my review and planning on going, cancel your reservation ASAP and book elsewhere (I strongly recommend The Shore Club, you can read my review to see why). Unless of course, you are an influencer or spend your time on your cell 24/7 which most of the guests were. In less than 12 hours on the property, here is my short list: Villa 128, $5500 +28% Overlooks ocean, two lounge chairs. No WIFI by lounge chairs. Area not lighted at night so cannot use it No ice in room No outdoor shower in villa Not asked times for housekeeping Bikes not assigned, went to beach club and it was taken No signage for spa, gym, lobby anywhere on roads. Very confusing layout, easy to get lost and I did. No lights at night along path, must take golf carts everywhere Gym has a shower, no dryer or amenities Spa has no locker rooms There is no adult pool Main pool not lighted at sunset Beach club outdoor showers: No hot water, conditioner or towels. I was told they close at 5:00 Beach club restaurant: Wine 6x cost, average cocktail $35 plus all taxes. Small garden salad $28, average pizza $35, $71 for 7 oz. Yellowtail, no ahi available even though their fine dining restaurant features sushi. Employees not overly happy and know most of these concerns but nothing is ever done about them. Plus side: Well equipped gym Nice lounge areas Absolutely worse than all the above were the worms on the bed and floor. So gross and disgusting. And the bugs here are out of control especially if it rains. Aman sent me a survey and I gave them the same info I am giving you. Shockingly, corporate never responded back to me and guess who did? Yes, Dusan. Here is her response which is so typical: "Dear Mr. Gaynor, We are very grateful for the time taken to review Amanyara. I am saddened to see that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. I apologize for not having had the opportunity to meet you in person, as I was away from the property, but our management team has shared your detailed feedback with me. It is always our goal to provide our guests with an exceptional experience, and we regret that we fell short in your case. Should you wish to discuss your experience in more detail, please see my email address provided below." Kind regards, Dusan Domazetovic Resort Manager Upon arrival, there was not a single manager welcoming us, this knowing in advance our expectations. Bottom line: Just don't go. After seeing the prices in the restaurants, you will want to hop over to Grace Bay and eat at any other restaurant but alas, they charge $500 RT for taxi service so even that isn't an option.

This is a beautiful hotel and there’s so much to love about it. The privacy, the setting, the food is exceptional and in particular the restaurant management consistently went out of their way to make the culinary experience exceptional. We could not fault it. My criticism is really about the value in return for the very steep rate. We’ve traveled a lot this year and stayed at the Aman twice (Marrakech and now Turks) The Bulgari in London and Dubai and the Royal Mansour, The corinthia. Of course each location has a different price tag Turks being exceptionally higher. The aman desperately falls short on the details. On a macro level it’s stunning and they deliver, on the micro details they fail. The towels are old and grey, no big fluffy luxury towels. The Robes pilling and old. Felt like the 100th person wearing them. The amenities so basic I think Soho House puts them to shame, make sure you pack everything you need. They don’t have anything beyond your basics. Housekeeping hit and miss, sometimes they cleaned up well other times things were missing, old cups were left. The gym had a broken mirror taped up with blue tape that looked ugly for such a lux place and the tennis courts looked like they had seen better days. The beach set up so basic, uncomfortable loungers and old stained towels. It just didn’t have that detailed luxurious feel that you would experience at the Bulgari or another resort that boasts of high level service and an attention to detail. When we checked into our room we booked a “pond view”. The pond was not a beautiful pond with Lily pads and exotic flowers as one might imagine. Felt more like a man made swamp surrounded by Astro turf it was a murky green color. Really wasn’t what I wanted to spend a week looking at and at this price point nearly 5k per night it just wasn’t what we had expected. So we requested an upgrade and we’re told it would over 1k per night for a partial sea view. We negotiated a better rate but still cost us 3k for our stay. In total our bill was in the ten’s of thousands and it just isn’t value for money. The room we upgraded to was exactly the same it just had a better view. We decided it was worth it given how long we were staying for. I really wish it was better. I think they need to hire someone from one of the other luxury chains to give it the details such a beautiful property deserves. This is my third time at the aman and I can’t say I’ve been really impressed, I would give it one more try! I did hear a similar opinion from a few other guests and they mentioned they’d heardThe Ritz Carlton was better. We enjoyed our stay and the place is beautiful, it lacks the little details that makes it a true lux experience, we’ve been spoiled by other hotels but this was the biggest bill we’ve paid for the least lux experience.

Absolutely loved our week at Amanyara. We had amazing weather and the beach was perfect — calm, quiet and the bluest blue I’ve seen in a while. We didn’t experience any bugs or critters anywhere on the property (only a couple flies here and there) and really enjoyed our pool pavilion room. The first night I told guest services that the bed was kind of hard and they literally changed the mattress while we were at the beach and gave us a new, softer one! The available activities here are pretty chill but we still managed to snorkel, sail a catamaran, paddle board, ride bikes to the edge of the property for a little hike, and go to the game room. Every day we said we were going to use the gym, but the beach and pools were so lovely we couldn’t tear ourselves away. We also had an opportunity to tour one of the 4-bedroom beachfront villas and it was spectacular. We booked car service into town one night for dinner and they charged $500 (which is pretty crazy, but I’m assuming it’s to discourage people from leaving the property and so they can recoup lost profit from you not eating at their restaurant). Speaking of their food, it’s the only thing that needs a little work. Some dishes were good, others were kind of bland. Sometimes the food arrived quickly, other times it took a while. So not great consistently there, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker to us and we would totally come back again. We purchased the fast pass customs service, but the airport was pretty quiet on our arrival & departure (we visited after Spring Break). I could see that if you came during a really busy time it would be helpful to have it. Net Net, we had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to visiting another Aman property in the future!

Amanyara in Turks and Caicos is undeniably one of the most beautiful and serene resorts in the Caribbean. Situated on the pristine shores of Providenciales, the resort offers an exclusive, luxury experience that feels like a secluded paradise. The architectural design blends modern elegance with the natural surroundings, providing breathtaking ocean views and an immediate sense of tranquility upon arrival. It’s clear why Amanyara is considered one of the top resorts in the region.||||||||Check-in was smooth and personalized, handled in-room rather than in the lobby—a thoughtful touch that made us feel valued from the start. The staff at Amanyara are genuinely attentive, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile. Every request was handled with care, and on the rare occasion there was a minor slip-up, the manager personally came to apologize. This level of service is exactly what one would expect from a five-star property, and it’s clear the staff takes great pride in making guests feel welcomed and cared for.||||||||However, while Amanyara certainly deserves its five-star reputation, it’s crucial to weigh the value relative to the price. With an average ADR of $2,800 per night for a basic room, the resort sets a high bar for guest expectations. For me, price alone isn’t the determining factor for satisfaction—I’ve enjoyed $200-per-night hotels that exceeded my expectations and have also found value in resorts priced at $10,000 per night. But as prices increase, so does the property’s responsibility to justify every dollar spent. When a resort charges such a premium rate for its most basic accommodations, it inherently brings added scrutiny and expectations for a flawless experience in every detail.||||||||Upon entering our pavilion, we noticed a musky, smoky odor in the room. Though we mentioned this to the check-in staff, they denied noticing any smell, despite having placed an air purifier in the room, which seemed to indicate awareness of the issue. Given the hotel’s low occupancy, a simple room change would have been appropriate. Being left in a room with an odor fell short of what I’d expect for such a high-end property.||||||||In terms of cleanliness, the resort appeared spotless at first glance, but closer inspection revealed some missed details. The small beach area, though beautiful, had litter like bottles and wrappers that detracted from the pristine environment. For a resort of this caliber, cleaning the beachfront daily should be standard. In our bathroom, the shower initially seemed clean, but closing the door revealed areas that had been overlooked. These small issues are forgivable at a budget property but feel out of place here, where flawless attention to detail is expected.||||||||The ambiance of Amanyara is idyllic, and the sense of peace it provides is remarkable. However, the lack of adequate lighting and signage at night made navigating the pathways challenging. Additional lighting or signs would improve the nighttime experience. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the bed. The mattress felt like it belonged in a motel rather than a high-end resort, being lumpy and uncomfortable, which impacted my sleep. For a luxury property, especially at this price point, comfort is paramount, and a quality mattress is essential. Upgrading the beds would make a significant difference.||||||||Bottom Line: If you decide to stay at Amanyara—and it’s one of the nicest resorts in the Caribbean, perfect for an exclusive, peaceful escape—just be aware of these minor imperfections. Knowing about them in advance allows you to set realistic expectations and focus on the incredible aspects of this resort: the stunning location, beautiful architecture, and warm, dedicated staff. The worst part of any luxury stay is expecting a flawless, world-class experience and feeling let down by small details. With these insights, you’ll be prepared to fully enjoy all that Amanyara has to offer.||||||||Final Verdict: Amanyara is a visually striking, secluded resort ideal for unwinding in an exotic, tranquil setting with top-notch service. While some areas could benefit from more attention to detail to truly match the premium pricing, it’s still an exceptional place to relax and recharge. With balanced expectations, Amanyara will leave you with lasting memories of a unique luxury experience in the beautiful...

We stayed at Amanyara for 5 days and 6 nights. The room alone cost over $22,000 USD — yet this was the most disappointing experience we’ve ever had at a so-called luxury hotel. We often stay at hotels of this caliber, but this was our first (and last) time trying an Aman resort, supposedly one of the best. What a mistake.||Arrival & Transfers:|The disappointment started with the hotel transfer. For the price they charge, you’d expect comfortable, new vehicles — but they sent old, basic jeeps instead of the promised Suburbans. Definitely not what you’d expect for premium private transportation.||Public Areas:|It’s worth mentioning: the hotel grounds, public areas, restaurant, bar, and views are all stunning — there’s no denying that Amanyara is beautiful on the outside. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.||Food:|We chose Amanyara because we were traveling with a baby and wanted a resort where we wouldn’t have to leave the property for days. Big mistake — the food was absolutely terrible: dry, tasteless, poorly cooked, and outrageously overpriced. Meat, pancakes, basic items — all inedible. We ended up dreading mealtimes.||Service:|The service was even worse than the food. Staff were clearly untrained and disorganized. One morning it started raining while we were the only guests sitting outside for breakfast — not a single staff member offered to help move us. I had to carry my own tea and plates inside while they busied themselves collecting cushions from empty sofas instead. They still had the nerve to add a service fee.||Room service was equally disappointing: food arrived in cheap plastic-covered plates, coffee came in scratched old pots, and cutlery was often missing. The minibar included a few complimentary sodas, but when we asked for extra Sprite one evening, the rude response was: “You have it in the fridge.” Obviously, we were asking because we’d run out — but they never brought more.||Facilities:|The rooms are old, basic, and far below the standard you’d expect for the price. For families, they placed a diaper pail in the bathroom — nice idea, except it was old and broken.||Private Transport Incident:|My husband booked the hotel’s private transport to a golf course for $200 USD. When he was delayed by 10 minutes waiting for his bill, the driver bombarded him with calls — and when he got to the car, the driver actually scolded him for being “late.” For 10 minutes! Unbelievable.||Private Dinner:|The only good meal we had was a private dinner, which cost $1,500 USD. When we asked why the food was suddenly excellent, the manager (Alex) just brushed us off and suggested that guests should leave the resort to eat elsewhere because “it might get boring to eat here.” What kind of answer is that? Maybe listen to feedback and improve your food instead?||We overheard many other guests complaining about the food, prices, and poor service. By the end of our stay, we felt scammed.||Amanyara felt like a robbery masked as luxury — a beautiful setting hiding terrible food, indifferent staff, and aging facilities. Never again. We will stick with other luxury brands that actually deliver what they promise.|Im attaching a few photos that I took, I honestly didn't want to take photos of anything there, because of how disappointed we were, but here are some from...
