Uk Tourists. ||||We had a lovely stay in Philo twin room for a weekend away from bustling Kampala. The gardens are beautiful. Naffi and his team provided a clean room with toiletries and a free breakfast which was great value. There were many activities available including cycling and island tours. The hotel had a bar and board games. The location is very safe and is only 15 mins walk from both town and the beach. There are 3 ways to access the island via ferry:||||1) MV Kalangala from Entebbee to Kangala (close to hotel). Cafe on board. Price - 11,000ush 2nd class, 14,000ush 1st class. This ferry takes 3.5hrs and leaves mainland at 2pm prompt and the island at 8am which makes it tricky to maximise a weekend. Uber from Kampala to Entebbe costs around 100,000ush||||2) Butakaka to Luku ferry - free for foot passengers and takes 1hr. Uber from Kampala to Butakaka costs around 120,000ush||||3) Private tourist boat MV Vanessa from Entebbe to Kalangala. Leaves several times per day and costs 35,000ush. Ask the hotel for Donna's number to book||||Please note that MV Vanessa is the only boat which needs to be booked. Uber do not do return journey from Entebbe or Butakaka however taxis wait around the ferry terminals. Email the hotel for exact ferry times and check wiki travel.||||Thank you Philo for a...

Wow what a place!! This place is such an oasis of peace, luxury & beautiful lush greenery!🌸 We were here for a weekend with friends which was the perfect duration. The island is beautiful. Philo can help you book really nice trips as well. The breakfast & dinner was really tasty and of good quality. Maybe the best of all is the great hospitality and care that the owners portray to their guests: they are so helpful, intentional & do everything to make your stay amazing. Amazing women!! Another thing we wont forget is the amazing garden; its like nothing we know. Beautiful lush trees, flowers, all kinds of birds, monkeys that are eating avocados & many seats and chillspots everywhere. The rooms contain everything you need & are pretty neat as well :) With a nice walk you can walk to Kalangala town, but you could also get a boda or taxi, which Philo helps you with as well. |We had such a great time & would recommend this place...

Had a bad experience with this place. I went there for a hang out with friends after a long day. I'll start with the unfriendly staffs (maybe they were just having a bad day ). Then We ordered for our drinks and I ordered for a bottle of Novida, the first sip was strange and bitter, on checking the expiry date, the soda was expired (BB:2020/2022). We inform the lady that served us and she insisted that we pay for the expired drinks. We demanded for the manager who was in her office and she refused to come out and sort the issue. On checking for the rest of the bottles in the fridge, all the novida drinks were expired. The staff then went to the manager and elaborated more about the issue and the manager said we shouldn't pay (she did not come out still). We paid for the rest of the non expired drinks and Immediately left the place. So before you take any of their beverages please check their...
