This was a gorgeous spot to stay! The bad: The wall outlets in my room weren’t working so I was unable to charge my phone next to my bed. The hot water is solar-generated, so your showers will be quite cold if you take them in the morning. We had fish for one dinner and it was spoiled, so most of it was thrown out. The good: The service was great and everyone is very kind. There are two kittens who follow you around and love to be pet. There are beautiful trails for hiking and biking. And of course, the gorgeous view!

We had the most fantastic time - breathtaking view, brand new rooms, quiet night, comfy beds, and fabulous food. Special mentions to the staff, who was extremely attentive and kind. William and Grace walked us to the swimming point where we enjoyed a lovely swim. Road is quite bad to get there, be prepared! It's all worth it though. Amazing value for money.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Kyaninga and the Rwenzori Mountains beyond, Kyaninga Lodge is the spectacular result of one man’s vision and six years of unwavering commitment to creating an experience of Africa’s beauty unlike anything else.

You can experience the beauty and romance of this unexplored region, while staying in the height of luxury and elegance. Nine exclusive cottages made from hand carved logs, superb dining, and a wealth of adventures await.

Cottages

Set apart and raised on platforms, the Lodges's nine cottages offer you privacy and tranquillity. Each spacious cottage comes with a choice of twin or double beds made up with the softest bed linen and feather pillows. An indoor seating area leads out to a private deck where you can enjoy morning tea or coffee with views over the lake and the Rwenzori Mountains. The en-suite bathrooms boast marble countertop basins set atop crafted Elgon olive pedestals, claw footed freestanding baths, and glass-walled showers. With modern solar power, you will always have hot water and electrical charging points.

Lounge & Dining

The finest 3-course cuisine awaits you in the Main Lodge. The menu is based on classical European cuisine and tweaked to make use of local ingredients, many of which are hand picked from Kyaninga Lodge’s own kitchen garden or the neighbouring markets. After dinner, head through to the Lounge where you can relax by the fire with a drink from the fully stocked bar. During the day time, head out to the terrace and relax on loungers while enjoying the view of Lake Kyaninga. In this equatorial paradise, you will feel a thousand miles away from the bustle of daily life, and you are; with wireless internet access in the Main Lodge, you can still share your adventures with your loved ones.

Swimming Pool

The terrace leads down to the swimming pool looking over the lake. Lined with pavers cut from the local volcanic rock and featuring two wooden decks, the swimming pool provides the perfect space for you to relax and unwind. Here you can soak up the peace and tranquillity of Lake Kyaninga and the mountains beyond. The more adventurous can walk down to Lake Kyaninga itself. With its blue water and ‘land that time forgot’ rainforest, it offers a unique opportunity to experience a wilderness rarely encountered in real life. The lake is one of the few in Uganda that are safe to swim in. This truly is a paradise.

Kyaninga Grounds

The edge of a spectacular crater lake provides the perfect start to your exploration of this hidden region. Stepping out from your cottage, your adventure begins here. Kyaninga Lodge’s beautiful gardens are the creation of London-based landscape designer Imogen Jenkins. The gardens provide a stunning setting for relaxation, reflection, and space for games. There is even a lawn tennis court for you to enjoy. With amazing wildlife on your doorstep, take a guided walk around the beautiful Kyaninga Crater Lake and Forest. See how many species of primate...

The cottage is located spectacularly around the Kyaninga lake with great views of the pristine lake down below and the Rwenzori mountain ranges. Has ample parking for it's size, the rooms are moderately furnished, clean but would need a little updating on design of the bathrooms and a great mattress. Great views from the from verandahs of the gorgeous lake. The most outstanding thing is the great service. Catherine the manager received us well and was especially helpful and kind. Grace the waitress took care of our culinary needs in a beautiful way and the food was great so kudos to the chef too. Much appreciated. The cottages would receive more stars with a little updating of other social spaces like the...
