Hotel Sojovalo — Hotel in Kampala

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights to explore Kampala. The rooms were nice and spacious. The hotel staff was great, especially Doreen (the receptionist) who did everything to make our stay very pleasant and comfortable. I arrived very late at the hotel, and was very happy to see that the room service menu had many options and that I could still order food. I tried the Butter Chicken which was really nice. The location of the hotel was close to downtown and a few minutes walk to the Ghadafi Mosque. We walked one way to downtown (it is a 25-30 mins walk) and took an uber back. Haven’t stayed overnight but ate breakfast there recently. Can’t fault it. Friendly staff, breakfast was fruit, juices, hot buffet etc. Nothing out of the ordinary but good quality, clean environment. Rather bling bling modern style hotel that doesn’t seem to have a lot of personality in terms of decor. However, good location for Mengo / east side of town / downtown though Rubaga Road very busy. After staying in Sojovalo for 9 nights in January and February, I returned at the beginning of August. Staying there for the second time, I can say without a doubt that I was nicely surprised with the improvement they did in only six months. The management continues with renovations, staff is friendly and nice as it were during my first stay, service amazing, rooms are big and always clean.
