This hotel-resort is like paradise. The hotel is located next to Lake Victoria in Kampala, Uganda. There are beautiful scenery, cute bugs and monkeys all around. The food is delicious! Especially the Indian cuisine, not surprisingly. I would like to send special thanks to the chefs there for doing their jobs perfectly. The staff in general is friendly; when you smile at them they smile back even bigger. One cute fact: since the resort is so enormous like a village, there are golf carts that take you to your room and back. They are like cute little taxis in the hotel. The rooms have mosquito nets, so you feel safe inside at night. The swimming pools are must see. The one close to the entrance even has bar seats inside the water where you can sit order drinks from the bar there. Overall, an amazing stay.

I love nature, freshness, child friendly and food at this place BUT I have ONE BIG problem with it. The 18% VAT charged was equally near the most expensive meals on our bill. The 5% service fee doesn't include tips for the one who served you (so try tipping those fellows) and when I decided to use a debit card, they say they will add a charge of 5% on it as well claiming it goes to the bank (1st time I had this. 2nd, dont know which bank but it was not my bank. 3rd, such transactions are usually free or if charges are incurred, its your bank that deducts a transaction/service fee but not a 3rd party). Therefore go with enough Cash to save yourself because almost 1/4 of your bill accounts for VAT & service fee. Anyway don't let this stop you, check out yourself. I still found it a great place!!

Absolutely delighted with my experience at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort/Speak Resort/Speak Resort Convention Center. This 3-in-1 gem is a true 7-star haven. Nestled by Lake Victoria, the refreshing air and lush tropical surroundings set the perfect backdrop. The well-manicured green grass adds to the charm. The culinary delights, featuring a blend of international and local cuisines, were a treat for the taste buds. The swimming pool surpassed all expectations, and it's undoubtedly the best spot for kids to play. Highly recommended for international visitors, weekend family getaways, and memorable events like weddings and parties. An exceptional destination both indoors and outdoors.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort, and I must say it was a truly fantastic experience! From the moment I arrived, the level of hospitality was unmatched.

The location is breathtaking—nestled right on the shores of Lake Victoria, the views are serene and captivating. Waking up to the sight of the lake and the gentle breeze was a highlight of my stay. The well-maintained gardens, lush greenery, and stunning landscaping added to the tranquility.

The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, and elegantly furnished. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail—from the soft linens to the thoughtful amenities—was outstanding. My room had a private balcony that offered a perfect vantage point to relax and enjoy the scenery.

The dining experience was world-class. The restaurants offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, blending local Ugandan flavors with international cuisine. The fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and attentive service made every meal memorable.

The facilities are equally impressive. The swimming pool is massive and perfect for both relaxation and a refreshing dip. The fitness center is well-equipped, and the spa is a haven of relaxation with top-notch treatments. For water sports enthusiasts, the resort offers plenty of activities on Lake Victoria.

What truly sets Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort apart is its service. The staff are professional, was served by Diana who was soo friendly, and always go above and beyond to ensure guests have a perfect stay. Whether it was assisting with check-in, providing local recommendations, or catering to specific requests, their dedication was evident.

Overall, Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort exceeded all my expectations. It’s a perfect destination for anyone looking for luxury, comfort, and peace in Uganda. I highly recommend it, and I can’t...

Where do I start?

The good: the views next to the lake are fantastic.

The bad: we went to the lakeside restaurant. It was raining that day so everyone was trying to find cover. There were an abundance of waiters but not even one came to get us seating. However, when white people joined, about three rushed to their aid.

We ended up standing for about 10 minutes watching the waiters talking amongst themselves. My sister and I had to walk into the rain, grab chairs and walk back. The food was sub-par. And the experience ruined our entire outting. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT.

Secondly, their swimming pool section. First of all, it's incredibly overpriced. I'm not sure which average Ugandan family could possibly afford their entrance fee (considering the average family has 5 people). Clearly they are targeting foreigners (white folk to be precise), which is disgusting to say the least.

Their gym facilities are nice and I enjoy their suana. However, their food is not that great and to top it off, their prices are exclusive of VAT so you end up paying more than their food is worth.

Overall, I'm unhappy with this establishment. I would maybe go for a photoshoot as I see many others doing, but it's far from a favoured...
