We stayed at the camp for two nights and it was a pleasure. Phillip, the owner, is very helpful with tips about the area and knows a lot about the lion prides that live close by in the national park. Event though the camp is located outside of the park there is no boundary and you will get to the job breeding ground in no time (the only hassle is that you need to big the permit first and depending on which direction you come from it might be easier to buy it before you get to the camp).
About the camp itself everything is very spacious and the main area is open with nice view over the small little lake where the community harvests salt. The whole camp area is unfenced so animals do come by, one night we had a hippo on our way to the tent. But nothing is dangerous as you are always accompanied by a ranger when walking after dark. The meals were delicious, lunch was a three course meal and dinner had 5 courses so make sure you are hungry upon arrival! When the weather is good dinner is served on the deck under the stars which is really nice.
About the room/tent. It is spacious with a comfi and very big bed and a great bathroom. Hot showers are available at any time and each tent has a private deck outside. The only point to improve would be some nice furniture outside to sit on if you want to enjoy a night under the stars. Our deck had nothing but one camping chair, which is a problem if there are two who want to sit.
Also a Great recommendation is the camping which is offered. It is upon a deck with a thatched roof above, so even if it rains your tent...

Always smiling and also they are interested in the guest an that they feel 120% Good. |After the first night it felt like being part of this amazing family. ||As I said the lodge was built in 2013 and opened in 2015. However it still looks all perfect and new and they regularly renovate everything. ||The food is always fresh and nice mix of Ugandan food and international cuisine. ||In this lodge you really get the great bush experience. In the night a lot of animals crossing the lodge and you can hear many of them. But we never felt scared. The lodge have a professional team of Rangers and they escorting you in night and early mornings to the room. So all is 100% safe but it also give you the opportunity to see Hippos or big animals around after dinner. ||Highly recommended to visit and stay at Kasenyi Safari Camp. ||The fantastic thing is also Philipp (the owner) is passionate Lion conservator. So with staying there you can also support a little bit the Lions conservation. ||Thanks again to the full Kasenyi Safari Cam Family! All the best for all of...
Read moreSTAY AWAY!!! Maybe the setting is nice, maybe the view is nice but that's it. We've camped with a car with rooftop tent. The shower was disgusting. Dead and living small worms came out of the sinkhole of the shower (a few 100), all of the showers btw. The smell was awefull. The most dirty shower in my life (and I'm used to low standards). I told this to the manager, he said he don't care, just pay, I don't care what you think he repeated... I asked to clean this for the next guests, he got mad and started shouting to us. In 2 weeks Uganda I met sooo many friendly people, and just 1 rude guy, Phillip, this manager. He is not worth the Ugandan nationality... We were the only guests in whole the lodge (surprise, surprise), and the kitchen was closed, no food... Just drive 5 minutes further to kasenyi lake retreat, much better and cheaper. Do yourself a favour and don't stop here as long as this beast is the manager.. The only thing he cares...
