I am updating this review. Was here in April and May of 2023 and again in July 2024. Good staff and helpful. The room was great largely to do with the building being fairly new. The room had no mosquitoes and I never used the mosquito net. They spray around the property as well. The room was cleaned well. I had mentioned the food was just okay but they redid the menu and it is very good. Again, with unstable power they are great about using their generator and not leaving us without power. The showers are amazing. Strong water pressure. I increased my rating to a 5 star! The TV channel is controlled by the front desk. The rooms do not have individual boxes so you are stuck watching whatever they are playing. They should not have wasted money on all the TV sets if people cannot watch what they want. They should invest in boxes for the rooms. I will recommend they invest in screens on the windows so you can leave open at night. The showers are great. They are fed by solar water heaters. The shower has its own stall separate from the toilet are which is much cleaner. The water pressure is amazing unlike any other hotel I have stayed at in Uganda. The bed was not the most comfortable. The mattress was not good quality. The hotel is just outside town so it is very quiet. The power in the area was unstable but they have a back up generator and they were very good about using it. Many places will only use it if they have to. The grounds are not beautified with flowers or shrubs so it is kind of plain looking. It is by far the best place...
Read moreFor our 3-day work visit to Kyaka, this hotel was the perfect spot. It's located just 20-25 minutes directly down the road from the settlement -- saving a lot of time versus staying in Mubende or Kyenjojo. We stayed in the suite rooms, which were huge with a living room, small kitchen area, bathroom, and separate bedroom. The TV got a decent number of international channels. The beds were comfortable and the showers were hot. The wifi was not always the best, but this has been my experience in various hotels in more rural areas. I used my own mobile hotspot from my phone. ||The location is quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful view over the hills if you want to sit on your front porch. Staff was friendly. ||The only downside to me was the restaurant, which was very limited in their selection. Each night for dinner we had the choice between chicken/chips or fish/chips. Only warm beer was available. Breakfast was likewise fairly limited, primarily with Ugandan staples available (i.e. beef stew, matoke, cabbage). My colleague requested an omelet, which wasn't advertised. ||Overall though, this is a great value hotel stay in an area with few other options. I'd stay here again when passing...

Restaurant/ Meals
Variety of Ugandan breakfast options are provided every morning and its in a buffet style. Foods served during breakfast are tasty & definitely filling throughout your day!
For dinner, their goat & chips is spectacular! Goat meat is well seasoned and garnished and fries are crispy! Also, the tilapia they serve is HUGE! and can be shared with other people .
Environment
Quiet a hilly place so be prepared to make some steep walks (which is good for your health so try to bring comfy shoes as well) . I also really loved the greenery, and hearing the birds chirp in the morning was really relaxing! It gets very quiet at night.. good for a sound sleep!
Rooms
The rooms are spacious with a living and kitchen area. They also provide microwave and kettle in the rooms. In the bathroom, hot water was available! (huge plus+). Room cleaning is offered each day as well.
WIFI & NETWORK SERVICE
Wifi is provided in the rooms and its...
