Hotel B Plus — Hotel in Mbarara City

Wifi works even to do some light video streaming, unlike ALL of the nearby hotels. It’s clean. How water is available most of the time for showers.. rooms are plain but no bed bugs or roaches. Adjoining cafe is convenient. Not very noisy. Mosquito net is on rails above the bed so more roomy than the typical ones. Lighting in the room is dim. Apparently they have a gym in a rear building which is open after 6pm but I haven’t visited yet. The receptionist brought me a laundry lady who did my bag full of laundry for only 20k. At first they quoted 5k per shirt but when I talked to the laundry lady personally the price of 20k for all was much lower. At 80k per night this is a good deal. Breakfast is a boiled egg, banana and slice of bread with butter. I get coffee or you can choose tea. Bathroom is very very bare and plain but cleanish. The flushing mechanism is good.

I have been here for 2 weeks now. I figured out the hot water is a little button just outside the room. Flip it and wait 10 minutes for hot water. A little noisy outside actually so I recommend bringing some earplugs for night time. Sometimes power goes out but a backup generator kicks on within about 30 seconds. Room service comes by every day to change sheets if...

"Good enough" but service minimal.

I chose the cheapest room option which meant I slept in the basement. I paid 40k (room only). The only downside was that there was no natural light so I overslept.

Light bulb wasn't working and staff didn't seem bothered about replacing it. I checked in at 11 p.m. so I guess she must have been asleep.

Plenty of hot water. Bed and linen and mosquito net fine. Didn't try TV or internet.

My friend and I have travelled to Mbarara for a business and we stayed at this place. The lady was very welcoming and really professional. The was another staff who came next day with extremely bad service. She was so rude to us and ignorant 😭 She was even insulting us saying that she is there not for smiling to clients but for money. I personally requested a towel but I didn't get any even soap. I will definitely never go back there and I can't recommend this...
