Stayed at Leslona for two weeks working. The location is central on the main street in town which is nice. The other alternative would be Hotel Mt. Moroto which is out of walking distance, at least at night.||There is power, running water, flushing toilet and shower. Power is going on and off - they have a generator to supply the solar but had no fuel. The shower did not work, all water installations are leaking. What a waste of water ressources in a area where water is scarse.||I would not mind being in a place without running water, but I mind that they sell the place like this with the facilites, and it is not working.||The breakfast is poor. you'll get better offers in the restaurants on the main street.||The staff is nice.||The best thing is that you are in a secured location, which is good when you are on your own.||||The matress needs replacement, the sheets were clean.||||Careful maintenance and a bit of service could improve the...
Read moreWe are Mamalandsafaris with our continuous safari tours through the eastern side for the Off the beaten track, this place is steadily becoming our top stop over for lunch or an overnight depending on a clockwise or anti clockwise from Pian upe game reserve or Kidepo game park.. For the region there is no doubt that this is gold especially if you remember the past few years.. It's steadily growing and improving! The budget is super for what they offer, the restaurant is steadily improving too with food and drinks on time.. If we make it some hours before sunset here we take an evening walk as it cools down with the back drop mountain in sight.. Normally the next morning we are able to reach Pian upe game reserve in just 2 hours with the Karamojong markets and the pristine peaceful routes very attractive.. We highly recommend the hotel for anyone going to moroto.. Different rooms around to...
Read moreLeslona is expensive (cheapest $17) by Uganda standards. But Moroto is quite far from other major places in Uganda, the options are few, and they know it. The other hotels in town are perhaps nicer, but Mount Moroto is more expensive and almost exclusively for Americans and missionary groups. (I was in Karamoja for over 2 months) At least you wont hear too much god talk in Leslona and can have a relaxing beer in the bar area. ||The staff is quite friendly once you get to know them and the hotel is located on the main street in town. A lot of people congregate here during the evenings to watch football and play pool. So it's a great place to meet locals. ||The food isn't all that great, but plenty of other options available right...
