This hotel is extremely overpriced and provides little to none service. Please find a cheaper option with better service as they are several in Arua.
We booked a family room (traveling with two small children) and were given a super hard mattress on the floor for 45usd extra per night. When asking for a extra duvet, we were told that that was not possible at all, despite paying for the 2 extra sleeps.
The rooms are not sound proof, so all sounds from the outside including loud parties and churches, as well as people on the parking lot, keeps you awake at night and will wake you up in the mornings. Likewise are the sounds from neighboring rooms and the hallway loud. The door to our balcony could also not even be locked securely which doesn't help the soundproofing.
The beds are very hard and uncomfortable and the room only has one plug, which is placed beneath the TV, so if you come for work, bring and extension cord as the work desk is far from the only plug.
The internet is extremely slow so bring your own Hotspot.
The toilet is placed in a narrow corner of the bathroom. I'm a size S/EU36 and my thighs were not touching the walls on either side, but if you are larger than a size M/38 you might touch the walls (I.e. be too big for the toilet).
The children's pool/water playground is not included in the hotel cost. The staff however only informed us about this after the kids had been in it twice.
Many items on the menu they don't have and the breakfast buffet is so so. The local food selections are fine, but there are almost no fruits available despite the shops outside the hotel being full of pineapples, water melons and mango. Likewise are the plates with vegetables few and with only few slices of cucumber etc. The bread is very dry and the first day there were no milk for the coffee and cereal. Espresso is included in the breakfast which is nice, but not all staff know how to make it. The container with 'detox water' looks like it has not been washed for a long time and has slices of carrots with dirty peels mixed with lemon and cucumber inside. Does not look like it's drinkable at all.
When we got the bills for the room the prices were completely off from what we were informed on the first day, and the prices were calculated incorrectly on the invoice (some added instead of deducted), so make sure to check your bills carefully.
Some of the staff are super nice and friendly and others almost rude.
The hotel is also far out of town so you have to drive a lot to get to the center and the good restaurants.
Overall this hotel is not...
Read moreI stayed here for 3 nights with a team of colleague and it was a very comfortable base. Large rooms, hot water, good shower, AC. A good range of food on the menu, all of which was available. A proper coffee machine means you can order capuccino with your breakfast! There's a pool plus basic gym (rowing machine, spinning bikes, treadmill and some weights) and a spa. The staff were really friendly and accommodating.||It's several km out of Arua town down a side road from the main Kampala Road. You won't find a lot of attractions anywhere close, but on the other hand that makes it quiet and pleasant.||If I had to mention something for improvement, the desks in the rooms have no power socket close by, so it's tricky to work on a laptop once your battery goes flat. And in the dining area there are only 2 power sockets so it's not easy to have a 'working dinner'. But overall a pleasant stay made especially nice...
Read moreSpent 2 nights during a staff retreat. The hotel is very new with some section still being furnished. Pool is medium size but clean with another for small children. Good was nice but not much varieties. Conference room is big and we'll equipped but the projector was a bit dim. Electricity would cut almost every hour or so they really need to invest in a backup power solution. Rooms are ok but very close to hotel entrance and DJ area so first night it was noisy till almost 11 pm. A bit expensive considering the location but you won't find much better in Arua.
Bathroom don't have a bidet/water hose for the toilet. The AC is out at fixed temp...
