A Tranquil Escape at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa

Nestled on the serene shores of Lake Victoria, the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa offers a perfect blend of luxury and tranquility. As I arrived at the resort, I was immediately captivated by the breathtaking views of the lake, which set the tone for a relaxing getaway.

The resort’s architecture, inspired by Mediterranean villas, exudes elegance and charm. My room was a haven of comfort, equipped with modern amenities like air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a minibar. The balcony offered a stunning view of the lush gardens and the shimmering lake beyond.

The spa was another standout feature. After a day on the golf course, I indulged in a rejuvenating massage. The skilled therapists and the tranquil ambiance made it a truly relaxing experience. The outdoor pool, surrounded by palm trees, was the perfect spot to unwind and soak up the sun.

Dining at the resort was a culinary delight. The restaurants offered a variety of cuisines, from local Ugandan dishes to international favorites. Each meal was a feast for the senses, with fresh ingredients and exquisite presentation.

The staff at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa were exceptional. Their friendliness and professionalism made me feel welcome and well-cared for throughout my stay. Whether it was arranging a boat trip on the lake or providing recommendations for local attractions, they went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience.

In conclusion, my stay at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa was nothing short of magical. The combination of luxurious amenities, stunning natural beauty, and outstanding service made it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Sunday 17th February I had the worst trauma of my life. As a family we have been taking residence at the Serena for the past four years as permanent residents and we thought that having supported them for these many years they would protect us and give us a chance to enjoy the facilities! Shock of shockers, as I was swimming, a fully drunk outside guest who had turned the pool section as his bar chose me as his punching bag! He went into this obnoxious racist rant that sure made my skin crawl and my hair stand! The most absurd part is that there were 26 eye witnesses including the staff who I thought would jump to my rescue but alas, the bully claimed that they are his alies and would team up with him to chase me the foreigner, beat me to a pulp and send me back to my country! Being black doesn’t make one Ugandan but any gift of citizenship makes one Ugandan! Am a white Ugandan, neutralized by marriage, Uganda is my home land, who gives this bully the right to threaten me? And how dare these Serana staff let this drunk man assault their guest as they watched on as if they are in a movie cinema? Where is humanity in our community? Serena’s lack of customer care for presumed foreign guests pulls you from five star to three star for sure! As a Five star hotel, the least one can do is enjoy the pool facilities but the place is always clattered and clummered with human bodies with zero space for the swimmers to maneuver! How can outside guests have more privileges than the residential guests coz for sure residents pay arm and leg! You need to mind the security and peace of the residential clients! Hooligans can’t disrupt our peace as...

Lake Victoria Serena Golf resort hotel, wow what an amazing hotel. Went for swim, gym, massage and sauna, then had the buffet after. Swim, gym, massage and sauna was only 150,000 UGX around £35 for the day. The swimming pool is very secluded, with pool side bar and service, you can order food sat next to the pool, service team are really friendly and helpful. Pool side food is good and wilt time was low but there was only 5 people there so to be expected really. After our swim me and my friend went for a couples massage, even though we were not a couple it was fine very private and respectful, and they were really good, we both felt so relaxed afterwards, well worth the treat. Then we went for a sauna, they have both mens and women’s sauna. They even have a freezing cold plunge pool. From red hot to freezing cold, you feel great afterwards. Again the service team were really professional, friendly and helpful. Later we went for the buffet which was about 80,000 UGX, like £15. Lots of amazing local foods to try, fruits and sweets, all you can eat so make sure you go and an empty stomach and try as many different types of foods you can. Uganda has the most amazing food so it was great to try so many different dishes in one go. Juice, coffee tea all in on the deal. Highly recommend having a good walk around the gardens too, absolutely beautiful, tropical paradise, the views of the lake are breath taking. Take your camera if you have one. You’ll be picture happy.

What a horrible experience! 😡 I won’t even go into the frustrating check-in process, I assumed those were mistakes that could be fixed. But what really pissed me off was what happened on October 31st. The internet was completely disconnected in our apartment block. I had to go all the way to the reception (which is quite far), and the staff member there gave me his number, promising I could call once I got back to my room if it was still off. When I called him again, he confidently told me “there’s nothing much we can do it’s a general problem at the hotel, maybe wait until tomorrow.” I was so pissed. I had urgent work to do arranging tickets for our Tanzanian colleagues whose travel plans had changed due to demonstrations in Dar. Because of this poor service, I couldn’t get the work done until the next day, once I got home. It’s unacceptable that a hotel charging such rates can’t guarantee basic, reliable internet. Even in the restaurant and conference rooms, the connection is a joke and finding the IT person is another struggle altogether. I’ve stayed in many hotels across Uganda, but honestly, Serena Kigo is by far the WORST experience ever. A 5-star hotel with such unreliable internet and poor customer service? Completely disappointing.

A great place to be. beautiful scenery, excellent food and infrastructure. Security guaranteed and so is silence and conducive atmosphere. Sadly, here's a five star hotel with some no star services. After paying for sauna and swimming, we're shocked to find substandard facilities at the pool. No towels, no secure lockers etc. The pool was congested with kids and the staff at the pool were much less than five star. At the sauna though, it's the exact opposite. Everything is pretty interesting and staff are so professional and friendly especially the gentleman Manning the men's side. And the food; it was a big disappointment. Fish was fresh and great but when I ordered for posh (maize flour bread) and vegetables, it was far less than the price tag. I was actually surprised to have been charged for it. The staff in service at the restaurant looked stressed & unwilling to work. I even ordered for water that's never been delivered hitherto. May be it was because of the COVID impact. The services here were so unacceptable that day and it was obvious the place was understaffed. Make it a point to visit. This is a five star hotel and I trust all will be great. Cheers!
