We stayed one night on the way in Ukraine. Hotel surrounding was under renovation but inside it was newly built and finished. ||||The room was nice but there was a limited amount of hot water. We didn't have any food on the hotel since it was very expensive and we're are not Jews. A restaurant down the road was a good choice.||||However, how nice the interior was, just as bad was the service when push come to shove. A lot of young guys helped us checking in and were very polite. Then at night some guests decided to have a party in the corridor and were shouting and screaming, banging in doors. It lasted very long and no interaction from the reception to stopp it. Outrageous! So we tried to first talk to the guests ourselves but since it didn't stop we talked to the guys in the reception. They said they would do something but never did and the party continued the whole night. So no sleep for us until early morning which is totally unacceptable!||||What more unacceptable is that when checking out, we complained but he receptionist didn't dare give us any compensation. After calling manager, we were offered free breakfast the NEXT time we're we're visiting, which is crazy to think that a Scandinavian tourist just happens I drop by in the middle of Ukraine again.||||So tired, hungry and a bad feeling from the worst service ever, I would never recommend...
Read moreI have just returned from an inspiring 3 day visit to Uman the purpose of which was a pilgrimage to the tomb of tabbi Nachman of Breslev. I stayed three nights (including shabbat) at the Hoshen Hotel, centrally located about 500 meters from the tomb. I was accommodated in the hotel annexe (the hotel has 2 buildings), in a very clean small but comfortable double room adequately furnished with two twin beds, a table/desk and chair, wardrobe with hanging space as well as shelves, an in-room safe, free wi-fi, mini-refrigerator, air-conditioning for summer and central heating for winter, a well-sized very clean bathroom with large shower cubicle and all necessary towels and toiletries. The restaurant is well furnished and the hotel provides a delicious breakfast with a variety of hot and cold dishes. The evening dinner (especially the festive dinner on Friday evening) was also sumptuous and diners were served a generous meal including salads, fish, soup,meat/chicken and dessert. The hotel staff very friendly, most heplful and willing tro attend to any issue I raised as a guest. The hotel has a sparklingly clean mikveh (ritual bath) with shower cubicles and a sauna. The hotel enhances the pilgrimage to the tomb of Rabbi Nachman and provides pilgrim guests with all their needs. Highly...
Read moreIncredible place to spend a luxury shabbat in Uman. The hotel is spotlessly clean, with immense quantities of delicious food. The approach of the hotel seems to be to be a bit "extra" in every way - from the number of branded things to the portion sizes, the quality of the furniture, even the size of the mezuzot. Stay here and your Uman trip can be a physical and spiritual delight...
