The price-performance ratio is not correct. The night for 4580 UAH is definitely to much. The hotel is 10 years old, but it seemed it's 20 years old. The price level is generally to much for Zaporozhye. |The breakfast buffet is good (quality and choice). The quality of restaurant is also good, but I ordered for diiner a 'Grilled beef medallions', which is served without any besides like vegetables or potatoes. Only two pieces of beef medallions. I didn't know that this is typical in Ukrainian kitchen to order besides.|The main negative impression is the cleanliness of the hotel/room (for this price level). The carpeted floor in room (#608) was quite dirty (skeevy). The furniture is used up. |Yours sincerely, Matthias Klebl. The price-performance ratio is not correct. Read moreGiven the armed forces of the Russian Federation are engaging within 30 kilometers of the city of Zaporizhzhya, the team at the Khortitsa Palace Hotel provides a safe and impressive display of professionalism and deliver five-star service during a war that is very near to their front door. The rooms are terrific- particularly the suites. The lobby bar service is outstanding, and the dining operation is spectacular, again given the circumstances. The digital menu is visually what would be expected at a five-star property- but remember the circumstances. Yet, any item selected arrives as it looks in the digital menu images. The teams in reservations, reception, bar, restaurant, and housekeeping are professional and kind... and kindness is incredibly valuable. Lastly, critical for guests to appreciate the current circumstances- so if the city has a power outage, if an item is unavailable, if something is out of place... consider the realities of each of the team members who endure these every day- yet show up to provide quests with a terrific experience. Be...
Read moreZaporizhzhya is an industrial area, south of Kiev. It's a lazy town with small houses strewn around dense foilage. However, the Khortista Palace hotel stands out, with it's twin towers with pyramids at the top and amazing views from the windows. It's right next to the beach and evenings can be fun. Very upmarket hotel, decent bar and restaurant (breakfast buffet is nothing to write home about). A very nice outdoor sitting area overlooking the beach is a nice touch, and the food served there is pretty good. As in most of Ukraine, food and drinks are quite cheap. ||One of the biggest drawbacks of this hotel, which is otherwise excellently located and can be spotted on the horizon from pretty much anywhere in the city, is that the staff hardly speaks any english. The only english speaking staff seemed to be at the reception, and nobody else spoke a word of it. But then, it's mostly the Ukrainian football team that...
