I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Anantara Eastern Mangroves, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the hotel's stunning location and the beauty of the mangrove trees.
The room I stayed in was nothing short of remarkable. Spacious, elegant, and meticulously designed, it provided a sanctuary of comfort and tranquility. What made it even more special was the fact that all the rooms had balconies overlooking the mesmerizing mangroves. Stepping out onto the balcony, I was greeted by an awe-inspiring view that truly took my breath away. The sight of the mangrove forest stretching out before me was a sight to behold, and I found myself spending hours simply immersing myself in the natural beauty that surrounded me.
The balcony became my personal haven, where I could enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or unwind with a glass of wine in the evening while being serenaded by the gentle rustling of the leaves. It provided the perfect vantage point to observe the ever-changing hues of the mangroves as the sun danced across the sky. Whether it was the vibrant shades of green during the day or the soft, romantic glow during sunset, each moment spent on the balcony was a reminder of the harmonious relationship between luxury and nature.
One of the highlights of my stay was the pool area. The pool itself was immaculate, and its strategic positioning allowed me to bask in the beauty of the mangrove forest while taking a refreshing swim. The lush greenery and the gentle rustling of the leaves created a sense of harmony with nature that was both soothing and invigorating. After a dip in the pool, I would retire to my balcony, where I could continue to enjoy the mesmerizing view.
The hotel staff demonstrated exceptional hospitality throughout my stay. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service at the poolside, their genuine care and professionalism were evident. They were always ready to assist, whether it was recommending local attractions or ensuring my every need was met. Their dedication to providing a memorable experience was truly commendable.
In terms of dining options, the hotel left no stone unturned. The onsite restaurants offered a delectable array of international and local cuisines. I savored every bite of the carefully crafted dishes, each bursting with flavors that showcased the region's culinary delights. The breathtaking views of the mangroves from the restaurant's terrace added an extra touch of enchantment to my dining experience.
The Anantara Eastern Mangroves is not only a luxurious retreat but also an ideal base for exploring Abu Dhabi's natural wonders. The hotel's proximity to the mangrove forest allows for easy access to various activities, such as kayaking through the channels or embarking on a sunset cruise. I highly recommend taking advantage of these opportunities to immerse yourself fully in the beauty of the mangroves.
In conclusion, my stay at the Anantara Eastern Mangroves was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of the breathtaking room with balconies overlooking the mangroves, the idyllic pool area, and the impeccable service provided an unparalleled experience. Whether you're seeking relaxation, adventure, or a blend of both, this hotel will undoubtedly leave you with cherished memories. I cannot wait to return to this oasis of natural splendor and indulge in its unparalleled...
Read moreAnantara Eastern Mangroves was a lovely place for us to enjoy a short Staycation. The brand itself was one that, for a while, we looked forward to experience, having heard so much of it. Whilst everything was great, including the rooms, the wow infinity pool, and the amazing buffet spread for breakfast; it was lacking in a few easily correctable aspects that define a property to be called 5 stars. We felt that although they did offer a mini playground for kids, the overall set-up was not very family or to be precise: "kid friendly." It was more suitable for couple or slightly mature guests to really relax and unwind. We were missing the "kids club" or activities which you would normally get at a 5 stars Hotel.
The pool was lovely, just the right depth for most swimmers to safely enjoy, temperature controlled. The attendant was so friendly and rushed constantly to provide water and towels. Loved the fruit flavored ice lollies.
The breakfast spread was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the DIY juice bar. The only minor disappointment was that the hot menu did not change, and we were informed that it remains the same every day. Also, we found a lot of food items to be dried out or "hard" to bite on. Cooking in smaller batches and checking the buffet at regular intervals could help in preventing this. These are very easy fixes for any creative Chef.
Our room was amazing, and we are truly grateful for the upgrade from a city view to the canal/water view. Thank you so much for this. The quality of everything inside the room was fantastic. Especially the Pillow Menu. My only comment and the major complaint of my spouse was the glass wall between the bathroom and bedroom. It was a terrible idea, which is my feedback to whomever designed the room. A major disturbance to other occupants of the bedroom, in case you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. The bathroom lights are either too bright or extremely dull, and switching on the bright one , immediately creates a glare on the sleeper in the bedroom. Easily fixable if you put in a curtain or put up a painting or poster on the bedroom side of this disaster.
We also missed the usual amenities provided in a 5 star hotel, like a fruit basket or mini chocolates or bonbons...a previous hotel we stayed in, during December, used to send over - every evening, a small Platter of the above, and it really made a fantastic impression.
Otherwise, everything was excellent. We enjoyed the Pool party, the overall experience. We thank the team for our stay.

Read moreAfter a long journey, my family and I were looking forward to our stay at Anantara Eastern Mangroves Abu Dhabi, booked for February 20th through Priceline. Unfortunately, our experience was far from the high standards we expected, leading to a deeply disappointing visit.
Despite choosing Anantara for its reputed service and securing an all-inclusive deal via Priceline, our booking confirmation lacked mention of this deal. Efforts to clarify this with Priceline over four days before arrival did not yield results due to communication issues with the hotel. Upon arrival, the situation worsened when the hotel staff, including the manager, informed us that our all-inclusive booking was not recognized in their system.
The manager's handling of our situation was particularly disheartening. Displaying a complete lack of empathy and a condescending attitude, he insinuated that direct bookings were the only way to ensure a seamless experience. His unwillingness to assist or offer any form of compromise, even when presented with proof of our all-inclusive purchase from Priceline, was appalling. His apparent preference for us to cancel our reservation rather than attempting to resolve the issue was shocking, especially given our predicament with two young children.
After canceling our booking through Priceline due to the unavailability of alternative accommodations at Anantara, we found solace at the Fairmont, a mere 10 minutes away. This move turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as the Fairmont showcased the true essence of hospitality, something sorely lacking in our Anantara experience.
It's worth noting that the only genuine concern for our situation came from a luggage helper at Anantara, whose kindness was a lone bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience. This incident has firmly decided our stance on never considering Anantara for future stays. A gesture of empathy, offering alternative solutions, or even the courtesy of providing water while we attempted to resolve the booking issue, could have significantly altered our experience.
Our stay at other prestigious hotels like the Four Seasons, Waldorf, Conrad, Fairmont, and Intercontinental has set a high benchmark for hospitality, one that Anantara failed to meet. This experience serves as a reminder of the importance of genuine hospitality and customer care in the...
