Al Maya Island & Resort is thr most amazing place which is truly a 'hidden in plain sight' gem of Abu Dhabi.
Who would believe that just a 10 minute boat ride from next to the Qasr Al Watan would take you to a stunning place like this.
Boasting of a kilometer of pristine white sandy beach dotted with rows and rows of umbrellas with beach loungers, a huge swimming pool with a jacuzzi, a kids pool, six amazing villas to stay, a superb restaurant and that too fully licenced, this place will definitely make you fall in love with it.
The villas are superbly appointed with vintage style Arabic looks, no expence has been spared to make them luxurious and look old school.
All the villas have their own private pools, fully enclosed for privacy, the bedrooms are huge wirh neat wooden windows, sitting area, kitchen, one room feature floor to ceiling wardrobes, next is a room with a vintage claw foot bathtub and they even have outdoor showers thst are also fully enclosed.
They is a pool bar and Al Maya Grills is the restaurant which serves an excellent mix of local and international cuisine.
Then araa is huge and lots of wildlife around, we woke up to the sounds of birds trilling, looked out and there's a herd of gazelles on the lawn, absolutely amazing
It's a soothing and relaxing place wirh no noise or hustle perfect for a family weekend retreat or just to get away from the madness of the city.
The staff are courteous, informative and ready to help make your stay extra special.

Β Β Β Read moreFood was OK, one of restaurant staff was so rude with us, and we got our food very VERY late. We saw other groups complaining from the wait time as well.
Iβve edited the review to give a better insight of the harassment experience encountered: Guys with creepy looks will try to approach and insist on having a conversation or exchange of social media. I witnessed other women being harassed as well in the pool. Not only continue to give scary long gazes, theyβll try to accidentally touch. If confronted, theyβll curse. What is the purpose of security if such behavior is clear in broad daylight? A group of 5+ guys who are regular visitors to the island by their own Jetskis tried to drown us and sprayed water at high speed on us aggressively. Initially they were roaming around the pool trying to pick up girls and we were approached by them and ignored them. When we rented jetskis, It was a back to back attack in an open sea and we couldnβt operate the Jetski due to eye and body pain from water splashed at high speed. They tried to hit our jetskis and seem to be mentally unstable and savages. The representative of the Jetski company in al maya is well aware of this group (green/black/glittery jetskis), and when we asked him about security he smiled and said that these guys always come here and no one stops them. I called the sea guard police, they couldnβt locate them as they ran away like cowards once I mentioned that Iβm calling the police while screaming in agony from the pain and feeling unsafe. After leaving the island, and reaching a safe space, I tried to call Al Maya island number several times to have the incident recorded and they never pick up the phone. I called on different days and they still donβt pick up. This experience traumatized me, it shouldnβt have happened, I truly felt scared and unsafe. It was a horrifying experience under...

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience at your resort, where we had spend a full day with a group of 18 persons. Overall, we had a positive impression of the place, as we found the location and atmosphere to be quite appealing. The food was not up to our taste buds very disappointing for the price as well , and too long to be served , no enough waiters to support the drinks order , even do the staff where very polite and effective.
However, I must bring to your attention a significant issue that we encountered during our stay. A substantial number of mosquito bites affected our group, causing discomfort and, in one instance, leading to a visit to the hospital due to the severity of the reaction. This was unexpected and quite unpleasant, especially considering the size of our group and the number of bites we collectively experienced.
We understand that it's not always possible to entirely eliminate mosquitoes in natural settings like yours. Nevertheless, we believe that there is room for improvement in mosquito control measures in and around the resort. This would greatly enhance the comfort and safety of guests, especially in the evenings.
Another aspect that caught our attention was the resort's policy of welcoming children. While we have no issue with this, it was somewhat surprising given the mosquito situation, as children can be more susceptible to bites and related discomfort. This might be something to consider in your future guest policies.
We hope that our feedback can be taken constructively, as we genuinely enjoyed our time at your resort and would like to see it continue to thrive. We believe that addressing the mosquito issue would significantly improve the overall...
