Last weekend marked my third stay at KAY Homes RAK, and this time I had the pleasure of bringing my family along. KAY Homes has always been my go-to destination for weekend or long weekend getaways, and for a special family occasion, I couldn’t think of a better place. After more than a year, I was pleasantly surprised by all the new additions and upgrades. They now have a new building featuring a welcoming lobby, a warm reception area, and a newly opened restaurant serving breakfast and other meals. I had the opportunity to meet the General Manager of KAY Homes, who greeted us with genuine warmth and kindness. She ensured our stay was seamless and even asked for feedback about my previous visits, which I appreciated. A special mention goes to Mr. Faisal, who ensured our check-in was smooth and quick. He greeted us with his signature warm smile and had already helped me complete the payment process prior to our arrival. He understood how excited we were and made sure we could head straight to the villa without delay. As a thoughtful gesture, he handed us a small memento, a KAY Homes tissue box and cookies at checkout as a thank-you for our stay. The villas are incredibly spacious and comfortable—you truly don’t feel like leaving them. Each bedroom comes with an attached, well-maintained washroom stocked with clean towels, dental kits, and other essentials. The rooms are cozy with good-quality beds and soft blankets, plus ample storage space. Some rooms even have attached balconies. On the top floor, there's a barbecue setup for those who enjoy grilling. The ground floor features a smart TV where you can connect to your favorite OTT platforms or YouTube. The large kitchen is well-equipped with appliances, a spacious fridge, cooking vessels to make your maggi or rice, a microwave to pop some popcorn for movies, and basic cutlery including plates, cups, and spoons. I’m genuinely happy to see KAY Homes growing and improving with each visit. Looking forward to my next stay already!

****Update **** We booked a bed and breakfast package, which means we paid extra for the breakfast. As for the late check-out, it was not offered to us, we had to request it several times from different staff members before it was finally granted and we didn’t even get to use it. Please avoid misleading people with inaccurate information. Our stay was extremely unpleasant and disappointing. We booked two separate rooms for 5 adults and 2 kids with direct pool access to celebrate our friend’s birthday. At check-in, the front desk agent was completely unhelpful, every question or request was met with a flat “no,” showing no willingness to assist. We requested rooms next to each other, but this was denied with the excuse of “high occupancy.” However, we later discovered that only four rooms were actually occupied, which makes their explanation completely unacceptable. On top of this, the hotel failed to provide any resolution to the bed type issues we faced. For the price being charged, the service and amenities are far below expectations. The shower drain was clogged, maintenance was ignored, and overall, there was no effort from management to make the stay enjoyable. I would like to mention that their kitchen staff, Hassan tried his best and prepared good food for our group, his effort was appreciated. However, one person’s dedication cannot compensate for the overall poor service and lack of guest care across the property. Honestly, it is far better to choose a proper five-star hotel where your money is valued, instead of paying such an extremely high price here and receiving nothing in return. Poor service, lack of transparency, and disregard for guest comfort made what should have been a special occasion very disappointing. Definitely not recommended.

Stayed in the unit which was connected to the pool. So, literally we could step out from the room and straight into the pool, which was a nice new experience. The pool itself was of a good size (1.10m water height at deepest) and design...suited for adults and children. Considering the hotel is still new, the services is still improving but they definitely make it up with their sincere hospitality and effort to accommodate all of the customers request. In particular their head chef "James". It's not fancy but you will find a nice, comfortable and enjoyable getaway if you visit. Will definitely come again when looking for such a getaway.

Pros – Spacious villa, close to Hamra Mall/Spinneys etc Cons- Unsuitable for families with babies and needs lots of improvement

We booked our stay at Kay Villas and were promised that the villa would be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before our arrival (especially important during the current covid crisis). When we opened the door, it was apparent that the villa had not been cleaned recently or if it had, it was very poorly cleaned. After walking inside for less than five minutes, our feet were black. There was also dust on the kitchen counter tops. When we rang reception to inform them that cleanliness was not up to par, they tried to blame the dust on a sandstorm that had happened the day before. We insisted that the cleaning staff come and conduct a deep clean immediately. To be honest, if it had not been for the fact that it was getting late and we had our 9-month-old with us, we probably would have tried to find somewhere else to stay. Overall, the villa is spacious and offers lots of room for big families. However, I would say it is unsuitable if you have young babies for several reasons:

  1. there are lots of stairs in the villa which could be dangerous
  2. there were no bathtubs in any of the bathrooms (we stayed in a 3-bed villa, can’t comment on other layouts) so bathing the baby in a shower can become quite tricky
  3. Kay Homes do not provide highchairs so mealtimes could be difficult (we brought our own highchair with us)
  4. there is no gate around the pool so that is quite a big safety issue if you have young children.
  5. The layout of the compound is that all the pools/yards are next to one another so if you are unlucky like we were and have noisy neighbours who like to play music at 5:30AM(!) you may struggle to sleep. Improvements needed: -Provide more kitchen equipment: there was no microwave, no toaster and limited pots and pans. These small, cheap items would be particularly useful. -Inform all guests to keep noise to a minimum if they are going to be in the pool/yard areas outside from midnight-9am. A little consideration for others goes a long way. Communication could be a lot better: our nanny left behind her phone charger and they only informed us via message two days after we left by that time, we had already returned back to Kay villas reception to pick it up. Seems there's miscommunication between staff.

I understand these are trying times for everyone but the standard here was well below acceptable, especially compared to other hotels and villas in UAE and unfortunately, we were very disappointed...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at KAY Homes, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish.

The cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.

The internet speed was impressive – perfect for both work and leisure. Fast and reliable internet is always a big plus for me, and KAY Homes delivered on this front.

Now, let's talk about the food – wow! The culinary experience at the hotel was top-notch. Every meal was a delight to the taste buds, and the variety on the menu ensured there was something for every palate. The chefs truly know how to create delicious and memorable dishes.

The warm pool was an unexpected delight. Clean and inviting, it provided the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. The pool area was well-maintained, and the water temperature was just right. It added an extra layer of enjoyment to my stay.

I must commend the room service team for their efficiency and friendliness. They were prompt in attending to requests, and the service was delivered with a smile. It's evident that the staff goes above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable and well taken care of.

One thing that stood out during my stay was the generosity of Mr. Abdullah. From the warm welcome at check-in and check-out to the little extra touches in the room, it was clear that the team truly cares about their guests' experience.

In conclusion, my stay at KAY Homes was nothing short of amazing. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place with delicious food, a warm pool, and excellent service, this is the place to be. I highly recommend KAY Homes and can't wait to return for...
