My daughters and I just spent an entire two weeks at this resort, and it could have been an absolutely wonderful vacation, if not for the shocking disrespect we endured at the hands of Kareem, the Receptionist. But before I dive into that disheartening encounter, I want to give credit to those who genuinely made our stay bearable throughout these two weeks. Chef Naser, a shining beacon of positivity, made our dining experiences delightful, and David, the diligent beach security personnel, consistently went above and beyond to assist us. All in all, our stay had the potential to be truly enjoyable, with its beautiful beach and clean rooms.
One point that greatly disappointed us was our attempt to extend our stay by two more nights. On a Sunday night 22nd Oct, I approached the reception, inquiring about the possibility of extending our stay in a beach suite from Friday 27th October to Sunday, October 29th. I was informed by an Indian male receptionist that it was fully booked, and no rooms were available on Saturday, October 28th. He assured me that I would be a priority in case of cancellations. However, come Wednesday morning, we asked Sana, another receptionist, and to our dismay, we learned that there were vacant beach suites, and no one had informed us of any cancellations.
The tipping point that nearly shattered our resort experience was the utter disrespect we encountered from Kareem, the Receptionist. Prior to confirming our booking, we explicitly asked the reception if water bottles were included in the room, to which they assured us, not only were they included but also that we could order additional bottles if needed. Throughout our two-week stay, we ordered extra bottles twice. Sana, one of the receptionists, clarified that water bottles at the bar were not included, only in the rooms, and she promptly arranged for additional bottles. However, when Kareem, the receptionist, dealt with our request, he informed me that I'd have to pay 15 AED per bottle. I tried to explain our previous conversation on WhatsApp, but he insisted there was no such communication. After a brief pause, he hung up on me three times during our argument. I was furious and threatened to involve the police due to his disrespectful behavior, to which he callously retorted, "If you know the police's number, go ahead and call them," before hanging up again.
A few minutes later, he called back, claiming that he had asked the manager and they would send us water. At that point, it was too little, too late, as the damage had already been done through the appalling disrespect we...
Read moreI recently visited this place for the second time and let me tell you, it's not worth the risk. Do you want to have acne or skin problems? How about getting sick? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the place for you.
The pool is the dirtiest I have ever seen in my entire life. On my second visit, I was too afraid to even get in because of how dirty it was. There were floating bugs, oil, and even other people's hair in the water. This is the second time I have had to go to the hospital due to skin damage and acne from using this pool.
I do not recommend this place to anyone. If you do decide to go, good luck.
Update 30 June
I wish I was writing this review under better circumstances, but sadly, my experience was far from satisfactory. This was my second visit to the hotel, coerced primarily by my family who were drawn by the allure of a leisurely getaway. Despite my initial hesitation due to my prior unfortunate encounter, I decided to give the place another chance.
Much to my dismay, the dismal state of cleanliness persisted. The pool was the most disappointing aspect, a breeding ground for bacteria, discernible to anyone with the slightest regard for hygiene. Swimming alongside floating debris, oily patches, and discarded hair is not my idea of a rejuvenating dip.
What's more distressing is the health implications we suffered post-visit. My mother contracted a throat infection while my young nephew and niece mirrored her symptoms. As for my brother and me, we were afflicted with ear infections. The timing and similarity of these ailments pointed to an unambiguous origin - the hotel's pool.
It baffles me how such glaring health concerns have slipped under the radar of local health authorities. I am inclined to think that those glowing reviews I've seen might not be as genuine as they appear, considering our recurring experiences have been overwhelmingly negative.
Therefore, we've collectively decided to blacklist this hotel for any future plans. I write this review not out of spite but out of a responsibility to inform prospective guests about the unsanitary conditions we've encountered not once, but twice. Stay safe and make...
Read moreI recently stayed at Umm Al Quwain Beach Hotel and wanted to share both the highlights and some areas that need attention — especially as someone with over 15 years in the hospitality industry.||Positives:||Location: The hotel is in a great spot with direct access to a quiet, beautiful beach.||Beach: Truly the highlight of the stay — clean, peaceful, and well-maintained.||Friendly Staff: The staff on the ground were welcoming, helpful, and provided quick service.||Dog Friendly: A rare and appreciated feature for pet owners.||Areas for Improvement:||Unreasonable Dog Fee: While it's great that dogs are allowed, charging AED 100 per night per pet feels excessive given the hotel's current overall standards and offerings.||Limited Room Service Hours: Room service being only available until 11 PM is quite limiting for guests, especially in a beach resort setting where guests often stay up later.||Visible Construction & External Workers: There’s visible construction near guest areas and external workers are often around the property, which affects privacy and comfort. Guests should not feel watched or uncomfortable.||Unprofessional Management Conduct: Shockingly, hotel management did not greet or acknowledge guests — a basic hospitality standard. Even more concerning was witnessing managers eating, drinking, and smoking in front of guests. It felt more like being in someone's private home than a professional hotel environment.||Room & Maintenance Issues: The beach suite door was in poor condition, basic utensils (like spoons and knives) were missing, and the water pressure in the shower was very low.||Neglected Public Areas: Several public areas looked worn down and clearly need more care and maintenance.||Final Thoughts:|The hotel has potential — a great location, dog-friendly policy, and friendly frontline staff — but it's missing the kind of operational polish and professional standards that justify premium charges. These overlooked details and lack of managerial presence could significantly impact the hotel in the long run if not addressed. With some real improvements, it could be a top-tier beachfront option in...
