I booked a Reef hotel apartment , for 3 days stay with my sister and her 3 small kids ( aged 10 ,9 , 1 year old ) , we had to stay bcs we had 2 days wedding and celebrating my birthday . To my horror I got a room 107 . Once I checked in I dint realise , because we were in a hurry to change and go for the function , we were already late . Once I arrived I saw and realised that this was probably the horrible room . This has nothing to do with the staff , they were very friendly . The bedsheets were dirty and stained , the paint on the wall was falling , the microwave was dirty with small cockroches, the wash basin in one toilet was literally broken into 2 , I mean half piece was gone ( see pictures ) . The remote controls were broken, no back cover , under the bed was horrible and dirty with dust. Apart from this , when you book a hotel apartment for a family we expect to have a iron , water kettle and some crockery , which was apparently not there . The toilet taps were all old , the kitchen sewage hole cover wouldn't fit and there was smell and cockroches coming in.. in short this room 107 should be out of order and not for sell , which was sold to me for 950 aed . I worked in hospitality industry for over 20 years in Kuwait and uae in managerial position and for me this was unexpectable. The management and booking.com should not have sold this room for me , by posting very attractive pictures . Above all when I wrote to booking.com, a manager in the night at 1.30 am spoke to me ( because was out all day n had just returned from a function ) told me something very insane , he said if u want to change you room now . We can do it ... I was due to check out at 9 am the next morning. He also said that , it was a mistake of new team members who have me this room . So the management and the Managing company nis not willing to take the blame on them that , they dis not do the maintaining of the hotel and should have put this room out of order , but here they are selling the room and blaming the staff . I say it again " the staff were very nice and did what they could do . It's not thier fault. It's the booking.com and the management.. who should look into the quality n condition of the property. 1st, we booked them through n latet they asked not book with Agooda as they agree to offer same rates, as they hv to psy commission to them.
2nd, only one last night deposit was not made as i could not find my debit card, st 2am, they horrified us to pay upfront, me n my wife reayested to pay early morning but they demanded to pay now or check out. I woke up my friend n arrange them psyment. 3rd, their staff kept pushing us every now n then to check out crazily.
