The place was awesome - the food was wanting on several fronts.
We got a great deal - the holy month of Ramadan and the heat of summer, two factors that made for some offers and a good deal for us to make this journey to Liwa.
We called the hotel early and requested for an early check in on Day one and a late check out on Day two, both of which were accommodated by the hotel.
The Hotel was beautiful - a 7-10 minute drive from Liwa town it was a scenic road leading up to the hotel. Built on one of the high points of the vicinity it was high up on a Dune, an arching road up the dune takes you to what seems like and piece of work that has seen better days but still maintains its regal structure, a crescent shaped building.
"Welcome to Hotel Liwa"
The staff were courteous and pleasant - one thing they lacked was local knowledge of the place and the things to do around Liwa - they were of little help on this front.
The rooms were beautiful, the furniture was tastefully done, the place clean and the view from our room was gorgeous - get a compass and figure out a east facing or west facing room to view the sunrise or sunset - this may be worth the effort.
They had a beautiful swimming pool manned by a very helpful staff. Nice place to take a dip and unwind. The birds chirping around made for a tranquil time in the shaded areas provided around the pool, the lush green manicured grass was a treat to the eyes. Do carry your swim wear to enjoy this feature when you stay here.
The food was a disappointment - considering the rooms came cheap the food was so so to say the least but was priced like we were buying a prized ox slaughtered just for us - if you can drive down to town and pick up some food from a choice of hotels in Liwa, do exactly that, you will be delighted for sure.
The place would have got 5 stars if they got the food deals right - anyway I am sure it is their business plan and I can only...

We stayed at the hotel for few nights and an unforgettable experience that was. And as memorable and enjoyable as our stay was, it was made possible by all the staff who run the hotel. Gold stars above all to Ijaz, Khaleed, Yan, Dipesh, Ramesh, Innocent (the chef who upon special request made a truly Michelin star worthy dinner on the last evening of our stay), and, of course, the pool attendant. They all went out of their way to accommodate us, were totally professional, courteous, and unfailingly helpful. The hotel itself appears like a large white semi-circular construct and is shaped like a fort/palace. It is spotlessly clean with a calming, relaxing ambiance throughout and everywhere you step. The large outdoor swimming pool is chilled in the fiercely hot desert surroundings. And the hotel’s lobby bar offering ice-cold beers is the place to be if you are visiting Liwa! And if you are indeed thinking of visiting the Liwa region for the various annual festivals, or just wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of usual tourist spots like in, say, Abu Dhabi, and want to absorb peace, luxury and serenity, the Liwa...
