We arrived at Faweather Grange, checked in and given the keys to the hideaway. We unpacked and settled in to start our holiday.||||Upon going in to the cabin we found the sink full of water and food floating on the top.||||Me and my family went to sit outside and noticed that the cushions were ripped and stained. They were a disgusting mess. We were not going to sit on them. ||Further more there was a notice to say if we damage or leave them out in the rain then you will lose your deposit. We find this disgusting behaviour when they are already marked and damaged. ||||We then started to have a look round and started noticing damage to the cabin, so we started taking pictures. The floor was damaged in the lounge, the blind in the kitchen was damaged, fag stumps in and around the garden and a  bottle top in the garden that our dog brought to us. ||We then inspected the hottub, this was disgusting, scum and skin all around the edges and the filter had scum in it too. We were quite shocked at this and we could not get in to the hottub in this state. We were very disappointed with this as we do love our hottubs.||||We could not complain until the Monday morning as this is when the office was open, there was a number in the cabin but we did not want to use this as this was for emergencies. ||||We spoke to a lady to whom we believe was the owner, she would not inform me of who she was. I informed her the hottub was dirty and the cushions were stained and damaged. I also informed her that there was damage in the cabin and let her know I have taken pictures as we have paid a deposit and did not want to think we have caused the damage. She replied with she would send someone up to deal with the hottub and she was aware of the damage, nothing else was mentioned. We were in shock, she said she was aware of the damage but did not care to mention this upon paying the security deposit||||Maintenance came up to the hideaway and was there for 7 minutes, from 3 minutes past 11.00am till 11.10. ||||The lady came back and asked if everything was alright. We said no because the scum and skin was still visible around the sides of the hottub. So she sent the maintenance up again and he cleaned the sides. As a family we don't believe that this is acceptable, just to clean around the sides. The filter was disgusting. We still could not use the hottub. At no point was there an apology to us. ||||We then waited for cushions so we could sit outside, nothing appeared. ||I then visited the reception again on the Wednesday and informed them that we were not happy with the hottub and the stained and damaged cushions. This lady informed me that they had no spare cushions to replace them with, she also said she would send someone up to have a look at the hottub, I did say at the very least you should be emptying the hottub and putting fresh water in. They said no. I also suggested could they move us, they said that is not possible. The gentleman was in the office and he suggested that blankets can be brought up to put over the cushions, I agreed as this would be a solution. to this day we are still waiting for the blankets, they did not bother. ||We felt at this point they did not care and we were bothering them. We felt they were rude and just not admitting fault at all||||Maintenance visited the hideaway and changed the filter. I checked the new filter that he had just changed and it was disgusting. Scum inside it, they are using dirty and old filters in the hottubs. ||||Around 3.40pm of Wednesday afternoon, I believe for them to be the owners, came up to our cabin and in to the back garden uninvited, we did not ask for them to come and see us. They took it upon themselves to walk right in invading our Privacy and dignity. They informed us that they felt like they could never make us happy and that if we left by 5pm that day we would receive a full refund. We said that this is unreasonable and unfair to be packed up in a little over an hour. They said it was unreasonable but they felt they could not make us happy. We replied with you have not tried. We stopped the discussion as this was in front of our 10 year old daughter and she was becoming distressed with the situation. We felt as a family they manipulated us and treated us like children they were quite patronising in the way they were speaking to us. We also felt violated. This was our so called holiday and it was ruined by the lack of care and attention by the owners of the park. Further more they both tried to gas light us both by saying that the hottub was clean. This was not the case.||Me and my partner were very distressed and upset over this and how we were spoken too, we felt that there was an atmosphere and we felt pushed out, so we left on the Friday, a day early.||||When we delivered the keys, I started talking to the lady in the office and she got up and went outside. I asked what was she doing and if she was going to listen to me. She said no and she called her son. I said I am not interested and we left the park. ||||We feel that our holiday has been ruined by the following||||• Could not use the hottub as it was dirty||• Could not sit outside as the cushions were damaged and stained||• Owners very rude and had a non caring attitude||• Owners invaded our Privacy during our holiday. ||• Left a day early as the owners of the park made us feel inadequate and made us feel like we were the problem.||||Will not be returning to this park. Rude owners, not apologising, not taking criticism, disgusting hottub and cushions stained. We have much better at home||This park is not pet friendly, steep drops and cabin is not secure for your...

I was expecting luxury as described but unfortunately they were not. Pretty tired Lodges although unique and back in the day I think they would have been but have not kept up with the times. Bed very small. Thick dust on top of plugs under bed side tables. Bathroom shower lukewarm and not very powerful. Sink in the bathroom takes a while to filter out water as has a pump mechanism to take the water away, leaves a little bit of a smell. Kitchen is dated as all wood which is in keeping with the theme of the lodge but would have thought more up to date for money. Hairs from previous dog on rug. Bite Marks from previous dog that chewed the side of the table. Hot tub had grit and dirt at the bottom of it and when you turned on was like sitting in a tub of matey bath bubbles when it got going. Not sure if too much cleaning products used... Cigarette left on side of windowsill from last visitor outside. I think giving people a couple of extras such as complimentary welcome pack and logs for fire would be a nice touch considering lodges aren't high end luxury but these were all to be paid for and added on to bill. Dog was extortionate at £40 for two nights. We normally pay £25 for a week and that's for a luxury cottage. Thought that the higher price might be because lodges would have to be cleaned more thoroughly but as we found dog hairs from previous visitors not the case. Just cashing in on people not leaving dogs in kennels I suspect. Deposit was extortionate also £200 and then you still get a table with chew Mark's on...why wasnt someone else's deposit not used to replace it...plus you domt want to turn up and pay for this on the day this should all be paid for prior to stay so nothing to worry about. Also as dogs allowed thought would have had a gated garden so as not for the dog to wander off onto the road but not the case so we had to keep dog in the lodge whilst we were in the hot tub just in case she wandered onto the road Pleasant enough stay but not luxury and not sure why so many 5 star...

Had a lovely short trip here. We stayed at The Lookout for my birthday in January. The lodge was very nice, cosy and comfortable. It also felt nice and private, especially compared to some of the other lodges we walked past on the way up there. Of course, the weather was dreadful! We made use of the hot tub whenever possible - it was a decent tub with a nice view... when the clouds dispersed! The trees did block the view a little. Because the lodge is up on a hill, the storm winds really battered the place, it was honestly a bit scary and I didn't sleep at all. Not their fault, just a warning. The only downside is they forgot to tell us where to get the fuel for the fire, so we had to go without, I believe there was no-one around when we tried to ask about it. We purchased a towel pack, but it was a waste, there were loads of towels there!

My wife and I spent a long weekend here for our 10th anniversary. It was amazing. The cabins are clean and well looked after, the setting is beautiful, and the staff were very polite and welcoming. Every cabin has a hot tub, and are layed out in such a way that all of the cabins have privacy. The one we were in had a spa bath and sauna. I think they all have them, but don't quote me on that. On arrival we recieved complimentary champagne, and a small box of chocolates. We arrived late so arrangements were made to let us in, and we checked in the following morning. Once we were checked in the staff left us to our own devices. I could go on forever about this place, but I could never do it justice. I'd recommend it to anyone.
