Great Lodge — Hotel in Braintree

Great Lodge is my favourite barn wedding venue in Essex! Quite the statement, I know, but it is simply amazing! I have had the absolute pleasure of photographing many beautiful weddings at Great Lodge, and every time it blows me away just how picturesque it is, no matter the season.

I truly believe it is the most personal and inviting place where you feel like the venue is yours to make unique! No two weddings are the same, and the little details—like giving you plenty of time to set up—go such a long way. Couples can make the most of the stunning surroundings, while their guests enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space to mingle.

As a venue, Great Lodge is completely accommodating, offering beautiful preparation areas, a lovely outdoor ceremony space, and a timeless indoor setting for the ceremony, wedding breakfast, and party.

From a photography perspective, it doesn’t get more beautiful than this. Whether it's the romantic vineyard or feeding time with the alpacas, every detail adds charm! The team here are so lovely, and I am always super excited to return.

5 stars all round for this INCREDIBLE venue! We had our wedding here and I cannot shout loud enough, just how amazing the team are. Taz & her team were relentless and so attentive the night of the wedding and provided fantastic service! Rebecca helped coordinate the BEST day and was so laid back and relaxed and helped us have the wedding day we dreamed of!

The venue itself is just out of this world! Considering it’s on our doorstep, hardly anyone knew about it and all were amazed at just how stunning it is! I can’t wait to come back for other events the venue run!

My husband and I celebrated our wedding at Great Lodge and we couldn't have hoped for a more spectacular venue. A stunning barn, gorgeous grounds, a lake full of ducklings, a field of alpacas (we made alpaca feeding part of the wedding!) and everything we had dreamed of. Every single guest commented on how beautiful it was. Rebecca is a wonderful, calming presence and very open to any ideas we came to her with. We particularly loved how we could plan our entire day, arrange our own catering, and do things exactly as we wanted - unlike lots of similar venues.
