We really enjoyed our stay here. Lovely self catered cottage on a quite road, with hosts that really care and offer great advise on places to visit locally. Fantastic location - Easy walk to Chichester marina, and only a short drive to West Wittering and Chichester. Cottage was well equipped. Bedrooms on different levels (1 on ground floor, 1 on 1st floor. Thank a lovely stay

Visited Martins Cottages over half term with wife and teenage son. The cottage is in a secluded spot behind the owners' house overlooking a large meadow in a charming area of the country between Chichester and the Witterings. The décor and facilities in the cottage were first class, with every practical requirement you might think of catered for. We turned up with a small bag of clothes, food and refreshments and within an hour we had forgotten about the problematic journey though the home counties rush hour. Our host, Mrs Gillie Farquhar-Thomson was welcoming and helpful while leaving us to ourselves to enjoy the peace and quiet and to get on with our short vacation. This is a great base for exploring the area in any season -- Chichester, Goodwood (visit the Cass sculpture park on a sunny day) the South Downs, beaches, estuaries, secret paths to old churches, plenty of excellent local pubs and places to eat. Thoroughly deserving of its five star rating and I wouldn't hesitate to return...

Just back from a most relaxing break in this delightful barn conversion. With two ensuite bedrooms, Bay Tree Cottage was perfect accommodation for our family group of 3 adults. It was extremely well equipped throughout, & Gillie's attention to every little detail ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable & hassle-free stay. High quality beds, crisp cotton bed-linen & plump feather duvets added an unexpected level of luxury that was much appreciated! The setting was wonderful, with lovely walks in every direction & so close to the peace & tranquillity - not to mention beauty - of Chichester harbour. We particularly enjoyed watching the deer & foxes that visited the paddock every evening. Our little dog was very happy here too - Gillie is very welcoming of dogs, but with reference to a previous comment, is justifiably cautious that the cottages may not be suitable for all. Fab holiday - big...

Lovely quiet barn within three acres of land, so very peaceful. The barn is fully equipped and very warm Gillie welcomed us what a delightful person she is and was on hand if we needed anything.|We hd the most wonderful weather and managed to do several walks from the barn.|Walk to Itchenor following the Saltern Way and end up at the Ship Inn for lunch takes about 50 mins. Also walked several times to Chichester Marina a 20 minute walk and ate at the Boat House restaurant another great meal. Took car to the Lamb just down the road for a roast. Twice ate in Bosham at the Anchor Bleu and each time sadly watched a car that had been parked almost being washed away with the tide. The area is so lovely even managed to get to church at St James a lovely welcoming church.|We had a super stay and do so hope we can...
