I had the most wonderful stay at this hotel—the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. The spa facilities were absolutely heavenly, offering the perfect blend of luxury and tranquility. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure everything was just right. The food was delicious, with every meal feeling like a true indulgence. The spa services were out of this world—each treatment was expertly delivered, leaving me feeling completely rejuvenated and refreshed. The atmosphere was so serene and relaxing, it was impossible not to unwind. From start to finish, it felt like pure bliss, and I left feeling balanced, pampered, and recharged. I can’t wait to return!

The hotel today is still family-owned and has been run by the O’Brien family for three generations. It is over seventy years since our founders, Ioné & Michael O’Brien, first opened their family home as a hotel in the late 1940s. Whilst visiting England to take part in the summer polo season at the nearby Cowdray Estate, many international polo players in the early years were encouraged to stay at Park House by the estate’s owner, the 3rd Viscount Cowdray. Michael O’Brien had himself been a keen polo player when he’d lived in India and his wife, Ioné, loved the game as well, so their close connection with the Cowdray family and Estate began soon after they arrived in West Sussex.

If you want to truly relax, eat amazing food, go for beautiful walks, get pampered with a full body massage in the spa, relax in saunas, steam rooms or hot tubs, or maybe walk in the footsteps of HM Queen Elizabeth or Princess Diana, then Park House is for you! Take a walk across the golf course, amongst the pheasants over to the woods where you'll see plenty of deer 🦌 Drinks at the bar or tea on the terrace. Absolutely amazing. An institution. Highly recommended.

We recently enjoyed a stay at this beautiful hotel and spa, and there’s no denying its many charms. The rooms and bathrooms are simply stunning – beautifully designed with cosy country charm in mind, creating a truly cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The entire property has a serene, upscale feel that immediately puts you in relax mode.||The food was another standout, with each meal crafted to perfection. From breakfast to dinner, every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, making dining the highlight of our stay. The meal was outstanding and staff were so patient and helpful with me. ||However, the true highlight of our stay was the staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. They were attentive, friendly, and clearly take pride in their work, adding a special warmth to the experience that’s hard to find.||That said, a few areas could use improvement, particularly for guests with mobility challenges. While the staff kindly allowed me to use the single-use ground-floor gents’ restroom when I was downstairs due to the ladies’ requiring a flight of stairs and it was the morning and I was exhausted, unfortunately this isn’t a fully accessible option, as it lacks essential aids such as grab bars, which can be quite limiting.||The spa is beautiful, but I was surprised to find that even though this seemed quite new that there was no regard to being disabled friendly bar a lift that even though I had a walking aid we were shown around using the stair so I’m not sure if the lift is for visitors or staff and no disabled facilities in the changing area at all. Most surprising is as that the sauna and steam rooms are segregated by gender, without couples, sibling, family etc being able to enjoy these relaxation spaces together. This meant my husband and I couldn’t enjoy these amenities together and I am a huge steam room and sauna fan so it was sad to miss out on this as I couldn’t have done it on my own for safety reasons, which felt like a missed opportunity for a spa experience. ||The outdoor pool area is again beautiful and looked inviting, and whilst we were going to use this the next day as we had a late check out however, due to the fact I had no assistance with changing the day before I was so exhausted and in pain that I asked my husband if we could leave early as I knew I wasn’t in any condition to not require his help if we used the spa facilities that morning. This meant we really only enjoy the hot tub together but after 30 minutes that became tedious but thankfully we had treatments booked but they wanted us to go upstairs to the reception of the spa to check back in for treatments to return back down stairs which seems a bit all over the place. My husband really enjoyed his treatment of a full back, shoulder neck massage and felt tremendous relief and satisfaction from his treatment. I had opted for a foot massage/reflexology and didn’t enjoy it or feel any relaxation from it at all, it didn’t even include a foot/calf scrub which we had mentioned prior to entering the room. ||Additionally, while the rooms are gorgeous, the noise you hear is strange. You can hear nothing and everything. So we couldn’t hear the lounge that was below us with visitors but could clearly hear the staff delivering morning papers and room service to neighbouring rooms. It did make me wonder how much privacy you truly have if you’re hoping for a more intimate getaway.||Overall, if you have no mobility issues and require no assistance due to pain, mobility or disability and are looking for a beautiful, relaxing escape with incredible food and an exceptional standout service, this place has much to offer. However, if accessibility is a concern then this may not be the right...

Booked a last minute spa day locally as didn’t wish to drive to far||My sister & I hadn’t visited this hotel/spa before, but bizarrely I only drove past it a couple of Sundays ago on my way to lunch @ 3 Horseshoe’s pub in Elsted! ||Didn’t know this hotel existed as it’s tucked away down a long country lane! ||My sister was reminded from a recommendation from her friend who frequently visits/stays & suggested we try it! ||ARRIVAL :- ||We initially struggled to find a parking space but unbeknown to us there was a Charity event taking place! It's so boring that I'm reduced to writing this. I've known this hotel for twenty years and put friends up there and have eaten in the restaurant a few times. It's been fine generally but the place has always been inconsistent and sometimes you're the only one there. I went last week for a spa treatment. After the treatment the therapist then directed me to exit via the outdoor pool. I made my way to my car via the gardens. I then heard in the distance a man, probably drunk, shouting from the bar "There's a lady out there" and some vile comments about my body. Next thing I knew a member of staff strode up to me and escorted me out of the garden, depositing me rudely at reception. Why was he even approaching me? He was brusque (which he denies) and he turned out to be Stuart Brown, the Head of Operations (which he confirms). When I complained the next day he disputed my 'false claims' although I'm not sure what he's on about - that I am falsely claiming to be en route to my car? Or that I'm falsely claiming to have just been to their spa? I received an email from Kate (no surname) who is Head of Guest Relations and she said sorry but the hotel was booked "exclusively" that day. As if that was an appropriate response? The hotel should have apologised for putting me in the awkward situation of being told to stop walking through the garden and for having to endure being heckled on their grounds. I felt so flustered and tried to explain why I was on their grounds - I cringe to think of it now. I even mentioned our plans post lockdown to visit the restaurant again. Cringe cringe. The manager informed me that if we did book in future we'd have to be gone by 7:30pm and thrust a menu into my hand! So now, en route to my car, I'm instead holding a useless paper menu - and I don't even know what's going on as I'm hustled around to Reception. Why? In the past staff have told us to enjoy the grounds and served us tea there. It didn't sit well with me. I tried to address the problem by phone and email before posting this but I didn't realise that is was the manager himself who had hustled me out. At no point did I mention leaving any reviews (because it's so naff and awful to say that). The whole experience was bad from whichever way I look at it. If I'd known how I'd be treated I would have paid good money to avoid it. I get that during the England Germany Tuesday game people might not be their normal good-mannered selves but I can't think how a woman in the gardens on her own could have caused such trauma to these men. And even days later the manager is still unwilling to see how unprofessional it is to treat a guest like this. It's bizarre as he's just made it all worse - and...
