Liked: Review for Linwater Caravan Park – 9/10
We had a fantastic stay at Linwater Caravan Park and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-maintained spot near Edinburgh.
The location is excellent, just a short drive from Edinburgh Airport and conveniently close to Just Go Motorhomes, which made our motorhome drop-off incredibly easy and stress-free.
One of the standout features of the park is the exceptionally clean and modern ablution blocks. You can tell they’re well cared for and regularly maintained – definitely among the best we’ve seen at any caravan park.
The staff were engaging, helpful, and genuinely pleasant, adding a warm and welcoming touch to our stay. Whether it was assistance with check-in or local advice, they were always happy to help.
The park itself is very relaxed, peaceful, and beautifully maintained – a great place to unwind. Everything from the pitches to the communal areas was spotless and thoughtfully laid out.
Overall, a solid 9 out of 10. The quality, cleanliness, and calm atmosphere more than make up for it.
We’d absolutely stay again!
Disliked: A Refreshing Escape from the Digital World
We recently stayed at Linwater Caravan Park, and overall, it was a truly delightful experience. The park is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and surrounded by the kind of natural beauty that immediately helps you unwind.
There are several options to suit different types of stays — from well-kept touring pitches to more luxurious static caravans and lodges. Everything was clean, quiet, and thoughtfully laid out, making it a perfect spot for couples, families, or anyone just needing a break from the rush of daily life.
One important note for fellow travellers: Wi-Fi is only available in the kitchen/common area — there’s no park-wide connection. Initially, this was a bit of a disappointment, especially in the evenings when you might want to unwind with a film or catch up online. However, we realised what a hidden blessing it was.
Without the usual distractions of streaming services, endless scrolling, we actually ended up talking more — really talking — with each other. Cards came out, conversations flowed, and we reconnected in a way that’s often lost in today’s screen-heavy world. There’s only so many films you can watch in a row.
So while the lack of full Wi-Fi may be a drawback for some, it also creates a unique opportunity to slow down and engage with the people.
All in all, Linwater Caravan Park offers a lovely mix of comfort, nature, and the chance to disconnect — in the best possible way. We’d definitely return (though we might bring a few more board games...

I'd like to start by stating that this is a clean and tidy site in beautiful countryside. When we first entered all other holidaymakers and campers were very friendly...however all of these points were overshadowed by one of the staff members/owner. Myself and my partner brought our puppy with us to the site where we were with our family. Bearing in mind the site is marketed as dog friendly, we felt comfortable bringing our pup with us as we are still training him and getting him used to being around other people/animals. The site had hens which our pup did bark at as he hasn't ever seen one before! He does also bark a little whilst playing when he's having fun. We had been there not even an hour and in that time he did bark a few times, when a lady came over to say that we were to "keep our dog from barking as it is quite annoying" or we would have to leave. They obviously didn't want complaints from others which I understand however he did only bark a few times when playing. And the neighbouring campers said nothing to us or the reception in way of complaint - they were all very nice. There were others out having fun and enjoying themselves, kids playing laughing and running around however our dog was not allowed to make any noise. The elderly woman came over and was so rude that it totally spoiled our trip and made me feel so upset and uncomfortable. We will most certainly not be back. Hurt and upset that people can be so insensitive. We did our best to keep our pup quiet and unfortunately if you want to bring your dog here and they bark at all I'd steer clear as you are treated like they do not want you...

We recently spent three fantastic days at Linwater Caravan Park, and it exceeded all our expectations. The caravan pitches are incredibly spacious, giving us plenty of room to settle in comfortably. The entire site is impeccably clean, which immediately made us feel relaxed and at home.
The park’s amenities are top-notch. There’s a fully equipped kitchen that includes everything you could need— a kettle, microwave, and even an electric cooking top. We were pleasantly surprised to find a wide selection of books in the kitchen area, perfect for a quiet read, along with gaming boards and even a PlayStation for the kids.
The staff at Linwater were exceptionally kind and helpful, always available to assist with any inquiries we had. The location is also fantastic; it’s just a 16-minute walk to the X27 bus stop, which takes you straight to Edinburgh in around 50 minutes. We found using Google Maps made planning our trips into the city easy and hassle-free.
The park offers plenty of open space, ideal for walking our dog, and there’s a lovely playground for children to enjoy. The whole area feels very safe, which gave us peace of mind. A highlight was spotting the numerous rabbits that appear during the mornings and evenings—a charming sight for both kids and adults alike.
Overall, Linwater Caravan Park offers a perfect blend of tranquility, convenience, and great facilities. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful and...
