My husband, and my brother, and I booked one small room and the two garden cabins as a treat for my parents to celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary and mum's birthday. The property has been painstakingly restored and is beautifully designed throughout. On arrival we were welcomed with a bottle of Chapel Down sparkling Rose which we enjoyed in the beautiful garden which was a great start to our weekend. Everything still looks immaculate (the property opened December 2024), and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Our rooms came complete with everything you expect and more from a property of this standard. Hairdryer, steam iron, Robert's Radio, Smeg kettle, coffee machine and complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits, local guide, Smart TV. The hotel supports local Kent businesses including Pelegrims bathroom products which are amazing, Tadpole and Chapel Down wines. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with upscale furniture and was decorated in an Autumn theme during our stay. The food was delicious, the service was unhurried, natural and friendly, and always with a smile. The complimentary continental breakfast included pastries and bread straight from the oven, cheese and ham, cereal, fruit & yoghurt, which would normally be enough but we couldn't help ourselves but to order from the a la carte too, as dinner was so good, we wanted to enjoy more of what the chefs have to offer, and we weren't disappointed. As it was a special celebration for my parents plus mum's birthday I called ahead of our arrival and arranged for flowers and chocolates for my parents room which was handled without a fuss. The Blue Pigeons is offering a high-end experience with high quality produce coming out of the kitchen, luxury in-room products and amenities and an enthusiast young team of staff who offer a genuine, natural and friendly service. I highly recommend a stay here, it's a real hidden gem and we wish The Blue Pigeons great success...

My wife and I held our wedding (both the ceremony and reception) at this venue, and it couldn't have been any more perfect.

The amount of behind the scenes work that Emma and her team did for us was incredible. They professionally managed all aspects of our day (and the planning in the months leading up to it) for us, meaning we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, as did all of our guests.

The food was so good, it deserves its own paragraph! Our Wedding Breakfast was (and I am generally quite reserved with giving out praise) without a doubt one of the best meals I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The evening buffet (particularly the homemade sausage rolls and scotch eggs!!!) was similarly spectacular, and extremely generous in size. I still to this day cannot believe how much food they laid on, and the fantastic quality of it, considering what a fantastically priced venue they are.

The building itself was stunning. The room that our ceremony was held in (due to bad weather - their gardens are similarly lovely enough should you choose to wed outside) was very nicely decorated. The room we stayed in that evening was luxurious!

I urge anyone looking for a wedding venue to pop in and have a chat with Emma, you honestly will not regret holding your...

We booked a Sunday lunch here a couple of weeks ago for five of us. Our springer spaniel Ted unfortunately picked up an apple whilst out walking and then choked on it. I carried him a mile home after he collapsed and then rushed him to the vet in Herne Bay. He had a general anaesthetic and they managed to dislodge the apple from his oesophagus saving his life. He suffered a fair bit of trauma from the procedure to his gullet and the next day haemorrhaged. He was in the vet for the next few days and on the Sunday morning they called us to come and say goodbye to him. We reluctantly cancelled the booking explaining the situation. We were met with “ well we will charge you £125 to cancel “. Absolutely zero empathy and no compassion. No hint of a compromise or alternate booking. We were told that Francesca the manage would call us back to discuss……….. but didn’t. Unbelievably Ted has rallied and although not out of the woods slowly improving. Wouldn’t eat here if it was the last place on earth. We live in the village and have many friends who visit the restaurant. I 100% accept that this is a business and can’t afford short-notice cancellations but extremely harsh and fairly short...

We were looking forward to staying at The Blue Pigeons, having been impressed by the photos on the website. We often spend weekends in this area and are always keen to discover a comfortable place to stay. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite meet expectations. After a warm and friendly check-in, we headed out for dinner. On our return, we found our room (“Jack’s Cabin”) uncomfortably hot and stuffy, with the air-conditioning not working. The staff kindly moved us to another room (“Daisy”) on the first floor, front of the building. While this room had windows we could open, there was no air-conditioning, and the combination of traffic noise and the hourly church bell made it difficult to get any sleep. The following morning, we went downstairs around 7am to ask for two coffees with fresh milk. At checkout we were surprised to be charged for them, as we later learned the included breakfast only covers one coffee per person. This felt unnecessarily mean-spirited given the image of hospitality the hotel promotes. One final note: American Express is not accepted, despite the website stating otherwise.

We had a meal at the Blue Pigeons at the end of April and were very pleased. We wouldn't usually order a burger since we prefer it more medium rare than well done, but the chef was able to cook it perfectly how we asked for it. The bacon jam and overall burger was excellent. We also ordered one meal that was gluten and dairy free, the chef marked up a menu with all the available options and adjustments which was really nice to have a choice. The salmon salad was really good. The place has been recently renovated to a really high standard, nothing has been missed, beautiful garden behind, new planters and planting at the front. A very nicely designed restaurant, too often details like the height of the tables and chairs is overlooked but it was perfect here, a very comfortable visit. It is a great addition to the local area and I suspect it will become very popular!
