Where do you begin? The place is fairly isolated and big. We did have a bit of a problem to find the main entrance so perhaps some better signage would help. With that little out of the way everything else went swimmingly. On our arrival keys and all information was already waiting for us in our welcome pack right inside the front door. We were a little worried about the lack of food on site after 4pm but we shouldn't have. After some nice pukka tea and (several) home made digestives and flapjacks everything was well again. Rooms were fairly simple affair but provided all we needed and we had a good night sleep. In the morning we've met lovely Scottish lady Sarah (also responsible for the biscuits and delicious flapjacks) who made our breakfast and was generally a very good to chat with. There was a good selection of things for a continental breakfast with freshly baked pastries. Overall, I'd recommend staying there if you are not after luxury but need a good night sleep and some peace and quiet.

Avoid! Unless you want to sleep in you car in the pitch black night in the rain with no phone reception! I was the lucky 1% who had to wait 1.5 hours outside to finally reach someone as there is no emergency number and I was given a wrong entry number. Not funny staying outside till 12:30 am on a Friday night with no chance to speak to anyone to help what you paid for. Room is rundown, the reason for the 'Eco' name is bcz they didn't wash the bedsheet and everything is second hand(or found) items. No response from management.

I spent one night camping in the South Downs Eco Lodge as part of my multi days walk of the South Downs Way. The small campsite is lovely, I stayed in the main camping area and it was a large circular field surrounded by tall trees, very tranquil. It has an eco toilet, and close by a (hot) shower and washing up block. The grass field is well kept. In the morning, when I woke up, wild rabbits was checking out each tent, it was kind of magical!

This is a peaceful location offering a variety of accommodation, at various price points. Obviously camping is the cheapest option and they have a mid sized camping area plus a couple of Yurts which share the camp toilets (compost type) and showers. The surrounding grounds are natural and peaceful. They also have a shepards hut which is cute & comfortable (sleeps 2 in a double bed) but would not be suitable for anyone with limited mobility - then the Eco Lodge would be a far better option. The staff are friendly & helpful.|The Cafe is only open Wednesday through Sunday, which you need to take into account if staying over those 2 days. Clanfield is a couple of miles away with a cafe & a pub or two but if on foot, it could be 2 miles too far ! I believe the centre does have Take Away menus to order in. Check when booking.|All in all I would recommend for anyone who likes & thrives in the outdoors and loves a natural and peaceful life. If you want to party & live it up, its not going to be the...

We had a brilliant weekend camping here. The facilities were great, incredibly quiet site (no road noise) and not busy. We had a lovely private pitch surrounded by the most delicious blackberries. The best thing was the unlimited access to the woods all around the site - perfect for our small child. |We we using the site as a base to visit nearby Portsmouth historic dockyard and Buster ancient farm, both a very easy distance away. There are shops large and small fairly close by as well. |Only slight downside is that cars aren't allowed near the camp site, and it's a long way by wheelbarrow, perhaps why all the other campers appeared to be bikers or backpackers!! Worth it though for the...
