I’ve had mixed feelings about this place, when considering leaving a review, but here is goes; Caravan - we stayed in caravan 102, it could have been cleaner but I have four kids, so wasn’t too fussed. I took my own cleaning products, but didn’t really use them. Beds were clean and so was the bathroom and kitchen. It was well placed on the site and close to the children’s play area and leisure centre, which the kids loved. Kitchen was fully equipped with appliances and all the crockery you’d need. But be sure, as I did, to take toilet roll, kitchen roll, towels, bin bags and kitchen towels etc. FYI you can hear everything from inside your caravan, from people stomping in the next door caravan to domestics! So if you’re a light sleeper, bring ear supplies. Activities - the kids loved swimming @ the onsite leisure centre, you have a choice of four slots to book each day. They have inflatables at every slot, which the kids loved! Down side, if that theres only two showers in each changing room, many people often left the centre after swimming and showered in their caravan. There’s no lockers, so don’t take a £1 or a padlock, we left our towels and clothes in the bag for life @ the side of the pool, as did most guests. There’s a small soft play in the leisure centre which the kids adored, free to use and no booking required! There’s around two bookable, chargeable, activities during the day, such as slime making and tie dying, which we didn’t book. In the evening, entertainment starts for the kids @ 1730 in the small entertainment complex, with a tots disco and is followed by kids karaoke or meet a Starland Krew member (this happened three times during a 7n stay). There’s a small arcade, which the kids also loved! We’ve been to Butlin’s for years, so coming here was a bit of a shock for the lack of things for the kids to do, more so during the day; but that being said the kids loved it and that’s all that matters. Plus, Butlin’s would have cost me double the price of this place and then some! Restaurant - there’s a restaurant in the entertainment complex, we ate there twice, the first time I had a katsu curry, which tasted quite processed the second time I had a southern fried chicken burger, which was really nice. They also serve breakfast there from 9am, but didn’t try it. Instead we ate more often @ Joe’s Plaice down the road, glorious food! There’s a small shop in the leisure centre on site, which has essentials and more @ reasonable prices. I often travelled to the Lidl @ Mablethorpe to do a bigger shop, with loads more variety. Reception Staff - used the Reception once, when I had a query from the shop. The person who attended to me, seemed flustered and didn’t know how to help, failing that, she didn’t know what to advise me. Luckily, I was able to create my own next steps for her and give her the ideas. I checked out one ago and they’ve not responded to my query, but I’m hopeful it’ll get sorted. Network - the signal is quite poor on site, but in some areas you can get 2-3 bars of 4G. There’s free WiFi on site, but the connection is somewhat ropey. The beach - now, you can get to the beach from the site, you can access this by walking through the estuary, when it’s wet it’s an awful walk. When it’s been dry for a few days, it’s a lovely 20m walk; that leads to a quiet beach that’s so peaceful and untouched. There’s no steps to the beach and it is on uneven ground. We were able to get there with four children under 6 and a double pushchair, so it’s not impossible but can be a little exhausting. It is very much like having your own private beach though, so when you get there, it’s so worth it! All that said, when we left, we wanted to head back for our next break, this time with the tourer. One of the entertainment staff asked me my thoughts on the site and I said that I’d found it a bit quiet, but she told me that why people like visiting Sunnydale, because it’s a small site, children can run around and have fun and stay safe, I do think she had a great point! See you soon Sunnydale.

Recently stayed here for a weekend with my sister and our 2 teenage kids 15 and 17. We were under the impression that this was Mablethorpe! Wrong we drove miles from Mablethorpe town to a park out in the sticks with not a lot around it . On arrival at the caravan we were number 3 in the corner alongside the hedge that ran alongside the road. The caravan was basic , budget and not that clean the floor hadn’t been mopped or swept the mat by the door was filthy all the plates cutlery etc had to be washed before use and there were no home comforts ie : a lamp in lounge etc the seating was ripped and very very uncomfortable both my sister and myself suffer with our backs and this made them a lot worse ! The on site club is ok for a drink but the evening meal prices were extortionate I had steak and ale pie at £15 that came out cremated not able to eat it there was 2 rubber parsnips on the plate 1 end of a carrot a few bullet peas and I’d opted for chips I’m glad I did as that was all I ate but at £15 I expected better the nice girl behind the bar was very apologetic but I noticed on previous reviews that someone else had the same experience with the pie !! Time to look at the chef ! The music was far too loud in the larger seating area near the beer garden so we moved . The breakfast was amazing the next morning and good value and the young man that was on service was very attentive 10/10 ! We went to Skegness for the day so we had something to do ! On return we decided to try the beach ( apparently a 15 minute walk! ) yeah right !! We walked over the hill and there’s a mass of marshland that we got stuck in the mud trying to cross costing me a pair of good shoes !! We gave up not good of your kids like a trip to the sand and sea !! There is a chip shop on the caravan park opposite which was very good thankfully so we are there Saturday night . We packed up early Sunday morning and left early as we were all so exhausted from lack of sleep due to motorbikes teararsing up the road and back at around midnight with no thought for others . Overall if you want somewhere great for kids and near to everything and clean don’t come here ! The site needs a revamp , a shop on site more to do for folk and new cooks and cleaners ! Would I recommend absolutely not no . We won’t be back .

The location of this site is good (not within walking distance of a beach though) and the facilities on site are really good for it's size. The pool is nice and warm and has lots of floats and inflatables to play with. There are 2 sections of the pool that are 0.5m which is perfect for babies and toddlers. The changing rooms are small at busy times which can be problematic but there is a good viewing area too. Lifeguards are very friendly. The soft play is also a great facility to have on site but it is not monitored so there are frequently children over the age of 8 inside and no one seems to sign in as required. The evening entertainment and clubhouse is also great to have. The accommodation has the worst beds I have ever slept on in my life, my back is still hurting as I write this. Considering these facilities are self catering there are no sharp knives to cook with so good luck with that. They appear to clean to a certain checklist that doesn't include the bathroom fan or the window siles which are very in reach. This site is also very noisy at night, we were woken up multiple times a night every night between midnight and 3am by people shouting right outside our van. They may have well been inside as we could hear every part of their conversation. You can hear people walking up and down inside their vans too. When speaking to a member of staff about the night time noise they were very nonchalant about it and just suggested I call the out of office number next time it happened. But on a site that has no signal this is very hard. The vans would benefit from all having decks, the poverty steps are a hazard and not suitable for small children. It had also become quite muddy outside our van so they had put down some very uneven wooden planks to 'help' but their haphazard application (basically just dropped and left) meant it was really unsafe for our toddler.

We were looking forward to a family holiday here with our 1 year old before we have our baby this summer. We booked this site specifically because it had everything for us to make the most of our time with our daughter, swimming, using the indoor play area and children's entertainment.... Unfortunately that wasn't the case.

Swimming: the pool was shut for half the week we was there to start with. Which left us having to find other things to do with a 1 year old, costing extra money we hadn't got the budget for.

When we did get to swim the pool was nice and warm, but the facilities were so poor. No lockers, one changing room with a bench to put your things on, rest had to go on the floor in other changing rooms. Men's and women's changing separately..... No family changing making it extremely difficult to sort a 1 year old out and yourself when you can't help each other. I couldn't shower my daughter after because the showers are push buttons for the water to come out with rain overhead showers. The water temperature had no alteration gauge so you can't alter it for children. The water came out extremely hot and then kept going freezing cold in between. Having no manual shower head meant I couldn't wash her hair because there was no way to keep the water and shampoo out of her eyes. For a family park and family swimming pool the facilities were the worst we had seen. We had booked to swim before we came home in the morning but then couldn't as the key for the caravan had to go back and had nowhere to shower our daughter afterwards.

The play area was good for little ones and she enjoyed that, the older gentleman in the shop was lovely and really helpful, but the shops was shut a few days over the bank holiday because they didn't have staff.

The children's entertainment....... Well, there was practically 0. Everyday nearlly was cancelled, one member of staff, noone to run anything on their day off. Make the effort to get your family ready to get up to the show bar for nothing to then be on, when the entertainment book says there is something on.

No krew for the krew for dress ups and character meets nearlly all week.

We did do the children's messy play which was run well.

Really disappointing overall for everything that we chose this site for, and nothing was anywhere near up to standard for things to do with our family so we had to spend more money going elsewhere.

We aren't people that honestly expect much, never complain and just get on with things. But when you want a nice simple holiday with you family and there is nothing on offer, it's pretty lame. We aren't people that can afford to go on holidays often and this was a gift to us from family members to have proper family time, just feel it was such a let down and ruined the holiday.

Caravan (the orchid) : the caravan itself was clean and tidy, modern and got mainly what you need in it. Good oven and microwave, but shame the oven only had one rack so you couldn't cook much in one go with one baking tray too. Cooking chicken and chips had to be done in two installments.

The bed is where the huge issue was. We couldn't share a double check bed as it was impossible. The room is so tiny, you can't get round the side of the bed at all. If you were stick thin and tiny then it might work. The space either side was about 1/2 a foot one side and 2/3 of a foot the other side. I have size 7 feet and couldn't even walk sideways down the bed because the width wasn't even big enough for a size 7 foot!

The matress itself had springs out of it digging in everywhere and everyday was in agony sleeping on it with back pain. My other half had to sleep in the living room daily.... Which says there is a sofa bed when booking..... No sofa bed at all under any of the sofas... Just a thin sofa to sleep on each night for him. No way this caravan would ever sleep 6 people at all.

Unfortunately our first family holiday was ruined and will be our last one for a few years, utterly...

Arrived here on Monday after booking it as a sun holiday, although we was early we was able to use the facilities and was made aware of this prior to arrival, check in was 4pm for us but earlier one of 1pm is offered at a cost (assume to prioritise cleaning), upon entering our caravan you can smell the cleanliness of the place, a prior reported repair was carried out just as we arrived at the caravan, both guys were very polite and job done swiftly. The caravan itself had a fully stocked kitchen with fridge freezer and cooker, 2 bathroom, 3 bedrooms dining table, sofa, TV, central heating for colder months, need to bring own toilet rolls, washing up liquid, towels as standard with caravan holidays. Club house staff were very polite and brought good banter especially storm who served us on a couple of mornings, and a side gate allows u to access the street the entrance is parked on ideal for the resonate walk to the sands and plane spotting. Although they serve a variety of standard alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks including Costa they will go above and beyond to help u if u want something different. Had both morning served until 11.30 and evening meals during the week and the food standard was great and would of happily tried eating the steak again, there are various offers through the week on meals and mega breakfast ×2 for 13.99 is a really good deal. Pool table is avaliable at £1 a go, and cues can be rented for a £5 deposit given back upon return. The clubhouse has several outside seating areas and offers table service through their app. The sales team were friendly and not pushy and happy to provide any and all information as requeste, Blake appeared quite knowledgeable in all aspects of ownership and was happy to show around the place discussing options and adjustments and giving reassurance, Rob had boundless energy and was happy to talk about anything of interest not just caravans, like it came natural just to put a smile on someone's face, even meeting cheeky requests when not expected. The swimming pool on site is ideal for families with kids as it is warm, with areas in the corners to sit, there is however no lockers and only small changing areas so going and leaving in swimwear would be a better option, some of the water activities are only avaliable on certain days of the week so plan ahead if these interest u. The location of the site is ideal for those wanting quiet, it has a fishing lake on site for the interested but site rules do apply for the use. There is a key coded barrier needed for entering the site and space to park by most caravans it appears. But to access activity site a car is needed and is appropriately 45 minutes to skegness, country roads need care and attention as some subsidence makes it a little hazardous for smaller cars. The downfall of sunnydale is the shop I feel, it is stocked with the bare essentials so shopping prior to arrival is a must, especially as it is not open on a Monday at all which does not make sense given people check in on a Monday and may have forgottento bring things, and through the week shuts at 2pm so planning ahead is a must, nearest shop is an independent garage but is pricy and nearest shop after is the co-op 8 minute drive away, nearest tesco supermarket is a 20 minute drive. There are 2 pubs located within walking distance if looking for a change of scenery. Overall a generally good holiday for...
